Excerpt:
He reached into his
pocket and pulled out his ipod. “Put on some music if you like.”
I took it, letting my
fingers glide over his. His eyes darted toward me briefly and my
heart jumped. I quickly looked down, busying myself with his music
collection. I ran through artists until I came across Severed.
Smiling, I clicked play.
“You have your own
music in here,” I said with a giggle.
He shrugged. “If I
don’t appreciate it, then why should I expect anyone else to?”
“I guess. I just
think it’s cute. Like an actor going to see themselves at the
cinema.”
“You don’t think
Nic Cage or Brad Pitt go to the movies?” he asked in mock horror.
“I don’t know. I
met Brad Pitt once in Starbucks.”
He chuckled. “I can
just imagine how that went down.”
“What’s that
supposed to mean?” I asked, narrowing my eyes.
“Well, you were kind
of freaked out when you realized who I was. Meeting someone actually
famous? You’d lose the plot,” he laughed.
“Well, in my defense,
I didn’t have posters of Brad Pitt all over my walls—” I shut
my mouth, but it was too late. No, no, no…
“You had posters of
me on your walls?” he repeated, amused. “Micah, that is
adorable.”
“Shut up,” I
mumbled, coving my face with my hands. He chuckled loudly next to me,
clearly not ready to let this go. “No! No laughing. Just shut up
and drive.”

My Review:
Micah is the lead singer with an up and coming indie rock band. She is feisty, gorgeous, and can belt out the songs to turn many heads. Yet she is also 17. According to her ID and everyone who knows her, she is 21. That is exactly how she needs it to stay. After a tough upbringing and bouncing from foster homes due to a mom lacking parenting skills and at times a heart, Micah is left looking after her younger brother quite often. After a hideous tragedy at 14, Micah has had enough. Being much sharper and clued up than most 14 year olds, Micah manages to get herself a new ID and decides to start a new life on her own. Fast forward 3 ish years, and Micah has got a job and shares an apartment, now she is going for the interview of a lifetime. As lead singer of band. She manages to win them over and can finally follow her dream, as long as nobody finds out her true age.
Saxon is the ex lead singer and front man of a huge rock band. Yet after a downwards spiral that ends in tragedy, Sax disappears from the music scene and every other kind of scene for 3 years. He's now back and wants to make this band work. His cousin is the lead guitarist, Harry and there is a lot of tension between the two, but Sax wants this band to be he next big thing.
The chemistry when Sax and Micah meet is immediately smouldering. They are hugely attracted to each other and it's sizzling all over the pages. Micah had a thing for Saxon when he was a huge rock star, so is in total awe.
After trying to avoid the attraction, yet getting on amazingly well. They realise it's going to be hard when they are on tour, sharing a poky van in close proximity. It's a recipe for a lot of pent up frustration and heated glances.
I love how this book was so easy to read. Although it was quite long, it was never dull or boring. There is always something going on. The characters are addictive. Although Micah is 17, you would never think it. Life has made her grow up super fast. I really enjoyed this book, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a sizzling read that is hugely entertaining.
