Release Blitz & Review - Wicked Charm - Amber Hart

31498683

Title: Wicked Charm
Author: Amber Hart

Blurb:

Nothing good comes from living in the Devil's swamp.

Willow Bell thinks moving to the Okefenokee area isn't half bad, but nothing prepares her for what awaits in the shadows of the bog.

Girls are showing up dead in the swamp. And she could be next.

Everyone warns Willow to stay away from Beau Cadwell—the bad boy at the top of their suspect list as the serial killer tormenting the small town.

But beneath his wicked, depthless eyes, there's something else that draws Willow to him.

When yet another girl he knew dies, though, Willow questions whether she can trust her instincts…or if they're leading to her own death.

Review:

Holy mother of the lord. This was one suspenseful novel. Wicked Charm was captivating from the very beginning. It had you questioning everything about this new world you are introduced to. I love that there is a bit of romance in this book, but that it mainly focuses on the mystery. What is happening? Who is killing these girls? You will have to read to find out.
The blurb on this book really got my attention. Deep in the swamp girls keep ending up dead. They all have one connection. Is that the serial killer or is it someone else? I really enjoyed the mystery of it all. It kept me on my toes and guessing until the very end. I didn’t realize who the killer was until the characters figured it out. It was refreshing to be caught up in the mystery.
The characters were wonderful as well. Willow is such a great character. She has the same feelings like most girls, but I found her tenacity to be refreshing. I liked that even though she has insecurities, she was also strong in spite of them. She is a strong character to follow. Then we have Beau. Good old Beautiful. He definitely has charm. He is handsome and friendly, but also a little heartbreaker. I liked getting to know him. He is the true definition of never judging a book by it’s cover. There is also more beneath the layers.
This book was perfect in the heat department. This book is a murder mystery book, with a touch of romance. With that being said, the flirty scenes with these characters were just the lightness needed to keep this book from being too dark. There wasn’t heat in the sense of an adult book. Instead, it is the perfect heat for a YA book. Just enough to keep you wanting more, but not enough to cross any lines.
The writing style of this book blew my mind. I devoured it within hours. I just had to know what was going to happen next. The suspense kept my nerves drawn tight and my alert on high. I just had to know who the killer was. Let me tell you, I was surprised. The pace of this book was steady and perfect for a thriller. I honestly wish I could read this book again as a newbie.
In conclusion, this was a very suspenseful book. If you like mysteries with a lot of action, then this book is for you. If you are like me and need a little romance, then this book has you covered. Everything about this book is perfect, from the blurb to the surprise ending. Honestly, I cannot believe I enjoyed this book as much as I did. It made me hunger for more.

Review Blitz & Review - The Upside to Being Single - Emma Hart

If anyone asks, I knew better than to flash my boobs for Mardi Gras beads.

I still don’t know why I did it.
Maybe it was the dare from my two best friends.
Maybe it was the guys on the balcony saying they’d throw Fireball shots with the beads.
Or maybe it was the quiet guy in the corner of that same balcony with piercing gray eyes, wavy dark hair, and a smile so tempting I wanted to climb up there and lick it off his face.
Maybe it was because I never thought I’d see them again.
Not that it matters. Not today.
Because the hotel I manage was finally bought—and the guy who walks in and introduces himself as my new boss is Mr. Tall, Dark, and Silent.

There are many upsides to being single.
Your new boss knowing what your boobs look like?
Not one of them.

Chloe grimaced, turning around to face me. “Does he show up randomly at your house?”
I jumped out of my chair. “Shut up! No!”
She pointed at the door. “There’s a hot guy who just pulled up in an Audi unexpectedly with dark hair, who wears a white shirt the way hookers wear thongs, and has an ass like a giant, ripe peach.”
Three loud knocks sounded at my door.
“Oh God!” I moaned, clutching at my stomach. “I have to hide. Can you stall him?”
Peyton grinned. A shit-eating warning grin.
“Actually, no, never mind,” I whispered harshly. “Peyton, you go out the back, I’ll hide, and Chloe can get rid of him!”
Peyt shook her head. “Not a chance. Who is it?” she added, shouting the last three words.
I clapped my hands over my mouth. Not only was this not a good time because I was still freaking out over the kissing, but we’d not long finished a yoga DVD and I was still sweaty and gross. Not to mention I was pretty sure I’d pulled a muscle.
And the powder. I was covered in donut sugar, okay?
“Uh… It’s Jake,” came the reply through the door.
Peyt waggled her eyebrows. “Jake, eh?”
I glared at her then stuck my middle finger up in her direction. “I hate you.”
The door hinges creaked, and the next thing I knew, Chloe was standing in the door frame. “Hi!” she said in an upbeat tone. “I’m Chloe.” She shoved her hand at him.
“Jake,” he replied slowly, taking her hand. “Is Mellie here?”
“She’s here, but she might be hiding.”
Peyton burst out laughing. My cheeks flamed red, and I stormed across the room and tugged her away from the door.
“Hi. Excuse her. She didn’t take her meds this morning,” I said.
Chloe poked my cheek. “Hello, Mommy. Did you bring me my cookies?”
Peyton, still laughing, stood up. “Okay, Chlo, drop it. Let’s go. We have work to do.”
I spun around as she slipped her laptop into her purse. “And you need to leave to do that? You literally just showed us a penis photo.”
“Your house doesn’t have the right Feng Shui.”
“You’ve never looked up Feng Shui!”
She pointed a finger in my direction. “You don’t know my life!”
Jake blinked between the three of us.
Chloe grabbed hold of her purse and then Peyton’s arm. “We’re going. Call us later, okay?”
Jake moved out of the way while Chloe dragged Peyton out of my house.
“And don’t forget to put your foot down on the kissing thing!” Peyton shouted, eyes sparkling. The last I saw of her was a large, mischievous grin right before Jake shoved the door shut on her.

Our Review:

“Comical and so true, 5 stars”

In The Upside to Being Single, Hart has a way with words more so than she usually does. I was laughing so hard because in this book she speaks the truth that all women feel at one point but never want to verbalize. It’s a straight up comedy and the heroine Mellie is a hot mess in the best of ways. If I had to pick one thing to change that would be for there to be more. But guess what! I have a feeling Mellie’s two friend’s stories will be just as funny!

Mellie runs a hotel that was recently sold. No one knows what that means for them. So, on her one night out before the new owners come she decides to do something spontaneous thanks to a dare. I mean its Marti Gras who would have thought she was going to be flashing her new boss?

Jake is possibly one of the happiest hero’s I have ever read. The dude is constantly smiling and accepts Mellie the way she is. These two fall hard and fast, but its more of a Happily Right Now kind of ending because of the time frame in the story. Which I usually hate but it works for this story.

If you need a good laugh then serious scroll up and one click, you won’t regret it.

Blog Tour & Review - Tristan - Karla Sorensen

Title: Tristan
Series: Bachelors of the Ridge
Author: Karla Sorensen
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: January 25, 2018

There's one thing you should know about Tristan Whitfield: he’s been in love with Anna for years.

There are two problems with that: she has no idea, and she's married. Or at least, she was.

Anna Callahan knows three things about her brother’s friend, Tristan: he's quiet, incredibly handsome, and has a smolder that could set the room on fire.

For years, it wasn’t difficult for Anna to overlook all of that. But when Tristan is the solution to a work problem that could derail her career, he is anything but easy to ignore.

To Tristan, the fact that the object of his affection is suddenly single means he should tread lightly. Be the friend she needs until she’s ready for more and hope the risk pays off.

Because it'll add up to the one thing he wants: her.

"Tristan isn't just angsty or emotional. It's absolutely spellbinding. From the first word to the very last, I was hooked. An epic finale to one of my favorite romance series ever." - Bestselling Author Kandi Steiner

"I devoured this book in one sitting. Karla hit every emotion imaginable. I got mad, I laughed, I cried, my heart ached, and by the end, it was filled with joy. Tristan's story is the perfect ending to an incredible series." - Author Kathryn Andrews

“Heart wrenching only to be made whole in the end, 5 stars”

Tristan oh Tristan…. If you’ve read any of the Bachelors of the Ridge books you would know there is so much more to Tristan than one would think. Tristan is completely a standalone but I can’t imagine not reading the books before and watching him and hearing him before actually getting his story.

I don’t cry when reading, I think its silly when people talk about bawling during a story. But that was different for me when reading Tristan. His pain and his love were so heart wrenchingly beautiful that I couldn’t help but let some tears fall. I cried, I cheered in joy, and then I cried again when I realized that this was the end of a series I’ve been dedicated to from the start.

Tristan has never been one for speaking when its unnecessary. He speaks when he has something to say and keeps his feelings within. He is the secret keeper and is the most loyal character I have ever read to those he cares about. He’s broody, hardworking, has tattoos, and a man-bun, what’s not to love?

Anna doesn’t know what its like to be in love. She’s in a loveless marriage where she doesn’t want to stay yet she takes her vows seriously. When everything she thought was true crumbles before her she doesn’t know what to do. When she starts to piece everything back together. Then she notices Tristan, loyal stead fast Tristan and things start to change. Will she take a chance on the man who has loved her silently for years?

Here are some of the quotes that I marked from Tristan;

“His hair was too long. Too many tattoos. Too handsome. Too quiet. Too mysterious. Too everything.”

“I think Tristan just likes to talk with people who know how to make their words count.”

“Any time you choose to love someone, its brave, because it gives them the power to hurt you.”

Well, let’s see ... I’m a wife and a mother. If the things that I write bring a smile to someone's face, then I've done my job. I am obsessed with Outlander (both the books and the show). I’m almost exclusively a romance reader, which means some people will never consider me a literary snob. If I could meet one historical figure, it would be Jane Austen. I received my Bachelors in Public Relations and worked in health care marketing before I had my babies. I hate Twitter. I do it, but I hate it. Also, if you want to get on my good side, bring me wine and I'll love you forever.
