What happens when the cute mountain man you made out with in an ice fishing shack turns out to be your brother’s best friend?
A whole lot of awkward, that’s what.
Maggie’s mind is reeling when she discovers the guy she became tangled up with at Marv’s Bait & Tackle isn’t a stranger like she thought.
The big snag: Sam and Maggie’s chemistry is hot enough to melt ice, which makes keeping their secret far more difficult than either expected.
Especially when one of them decides they want this arrangement to be more than just a catch and release.

Bearded Lumberjack in Hat holding a big Axe on Shoulder

Review

“Sinking your hook, 5 stars”

Sam is one of those who enjoys his quiet time while ice fishing. He never goes with anyone and its his time. Until he runs into a feisty woman at the bait & tackle shop who wants to learn how to ice fish. For some reason he invites her along with him. What Sam didn’t know was that spending time with Maggie wouldn’t be a onetime deal. Is he ready for the change that she’s bound to bring?

Maggie got the worst insult possible. She was told she is basic and now she’s on a self-discovery mission to become anything but basic and win back the guy she thinks is her forever. Only she meets Sam. Soon Sam is playing a vital part in her journey and to top it off he’s best friends with her brother. But what happens if Maggie finds out the life she thought she wanted isn’t anymore? Will she realize what’s right in front of her before it’s too late?

There was just something about Sam and Maggie that sucked me in from the first page. I loved the adventure these two went on along with the sneak peaks we got of Miles and Kate from Wait with Me. I honestly have never had a desire to go ice fishing (ice freaks me out) but now I’m tempted to try it. I cannot wait to see what Daws does next. One-click, you won’t regret it.

excerpt

“Maggie,” I state, my voice deep in warning. “Stop worrying about Sterling and live in this moment. We are in the middle of a hot spring, surrounded by rocks and mountains and snow and nature and…life. Your ex should be the last thing on your mind. You should be taking this all in.”

“I am taking it all in,” she snaps back defensively.

“But are you? Are you really?” I stare deep into her eyes, not in judgment but in understanding. “I know you have a plan, but sometimes plans need to be forgotten so you don’t miss out on life.”

“Life? Like right now? With you?” she says the words slowly like each one is a sweet she’s tasting for the first time.

“Hell, maybe,” I reply, my voice growing deeper from the darkened look in her eye. “You seem busy living for a fictional future. Maybe it’s time to stop turning the pages for a bit.”

The corners of her lips twitch as she watches me for a breath. Her tongue darts out to wet her lips as she pulls her bottom one in with her teeth. She turns around to prop her arms on the rocks, her eyes taking in the scenery all around us. She exhales heavily and then turns to sit on her knees in front of me.

My eyes take in that luscious body of hers, curvy in all the right places and smooth like velvet. Leaning in until her face is only inches from mine, she says, “Kiss me, Sam.”

“What?” I ask with a laugh and pull away from her, assuming this must be her idea of a joke.

She bites her lip and narrows her eyes with determination. “Kiss me.”

“What are you doing?” I shift nervously in the water to put more space between us. I swear to God, the temperature of the water has just risen ten degrees.

Lifting her shoulders, she replies, “I’m living life in the moment.”

“But you want your ex back.” A fact she shouldn’t need to be reminded of.

“I do…someday.” Her eyes wander down to my chest. “But he’s not here tonight. And you’re a short-term kind of guy, and I’m a temporarily single girl. So why don’t we live in the moment right now…together?”

“You don’t want this,” I reply with a shake of the head, gulping down the contents of my glass in one swig. I set it down and hoist myself up on the edge of the rocks, needing some cool air to clear my head.

“I think I do,” she replies, lifting her brows at me. “I know I do. I’ve wanted it since the day we met.”

“Bullshit.”

“It’s true. Why do you think I threw myself at you in your fishing hut, Sam?”

My body roars to life at that memory, of her body close to mine, of feeling her in my arms and tasting her perfect lips. Maggie could kiss. Even in her haste, she knew how to kiss.

Maggie moves closer to me like a tentative cub tracking its first prey. She kneels between my legs, and I tense when she runs her hands up the outside of my calves. “You’re a good guy, Sam. You may not be a long-term kind of guy, but that’s not what I’m looking for from you anyway.”

Her hands roll over my quads, shooting a zinger right up my groin to my cock. I reach down and grip her hands harshly to stop their movement. “What are you looking for exactly, Maggie? Be very fucking specific.”

Her long black lashes are wet from the steam as she looks up at me and quirks her brow as she replies. “I’m asking for no-strings fucking.”

“Jesus Christ,” I growl and have to force myself to look away from her. She looks way too fucking hot right now in that little black bikini, her breasts pressing together from the position of her hands on my thighs, and her blue eyes wide and innocent. My dick develops its own heartbeat as it presses into my board shorts.

How did this evening turn into Maggie seducing me? I’m fucking nine years older than her, for God’s sake. I should be the one seducing her. But all of a sudden, she’s the alluring bait dangling right in front of me, and I’m a fish who hasn’t eaten in weeks.

I look at her with pleading eyes. “Your brother will kill me.”

She smiles a sexy smile, that dimple in her cheek ever present. “Miles doesn’t need to know about my sex life.”

A gorgeous former Marine with a tortured soul.
The beautiful, compassionate therapist living next door.
A meddlesome grandma determined to get them together.

I was expecting a proposal on my birthday, and I got dumped instead.
How could I have been so clueless?
Grams knew exactly how to distract me.
The “cute boy next door” who’s been helping her with yard work clearly needs a little therapy. Who better to call than her newly single therapist granddaughter?
She even fakes dementia to get me to visit, and now that I’m here she’s doing everything in her power to throw us together.
Not that I’m complaining. Ryan is the sexiest man I’ve ever met--I mean the full package, from the chiseled jaw to the massive shoulders to the rippling abs. (And yes, his package is full, and he knows exactly how to deliver it.) He makes me want to get out of my head and follow my heart. He makes me want to take chances I never thought I’d take.
He also makes me want to take my clothes off. A lot.
But he’s moody and challenging--one minute he’s an open book, and the next he’s completely closed off. He holds me like he’ll never let go, but insists he wants to be alone.
Some wounds are so deep, only love can heal them.
How can I convince him to let me try?

Excerpt:

“Ryan?”

Startled, I turned around to find Stella standing a few feet away on the grass, wearing a T-shirt and pajama pants, arms crossed over her chest. Her feet were bare, and her hair was loose around her shoulders and a little messy, like she’d already been asleep. Thinking about her in bed did things to my insides. “Hey. Did I wake you?”

“I was awake. My windows are open, and I heard something and thought I saw you through the window. What are you doing?”

“Uh, building you a swing. But it was supposed to be a surprise.” Now that she’d caught me at it, I was kind of embarrassed. What if she thought this was stupid?

“You built me a swing?” She came a little closer, and I realized she might not be able to see it in the dark. The moon was only a sliver tonight.

“Yeah.” I grabbed one of the ropes. “Right here.”

She stared at it. “Why?”

“I’m not entirely sure.”

Her eyes met mine, and my heart pumped harder.

“Want to try it?” I asked.

“Like right now?”

I moved behind it and held both ropes steady. “Come sit.”

She hesitated, and I thought maybe she was going to tell me to quit being weird and go home before she called the cops, but after a few silent seconds, she came toward me. Turned around. Lowered herself to the seat and closed her fingers around the ropes.

“Well?” I asked. “How does it feel? Like you’re a kid again?”

“This was very kind of you, but not necessary.” Her tone was stiffer than her posture.

“Stella.”

She didn’t answer.

“I’m sorry.”

“About what?”

“Last night.”

“You’re sorry about what we did?”

“I think I’m more sorry about what we didn’t do.”

Her head turned sharply, and she looked at me over one shoulder. “You sure know how to confuse a girl.”

“One of my many talents.”

She looked straight ahead again. “Tell me about some other ones. And give me a push.”

I smiled, even though she couldn’t see it, and gave her a little nudge. “I’m fast.”

“Oh really?”

“Yeah.” I gave her a little harder push.

“Track team in high school?”

“Tried. Didn’t take.”

“Why not?”

“They expected me to show up for practice.”

“Ah.” She straightened her legs and leaned back in the swing, her hair dangling behind her. “Tell me another one.”

I gave her another push. “I’m good with my hands.”

Her laugh floated back to me. “I have observed this about you already. Give me another one.”

I pushed her again, just so I could feel her hair brush against my hands. “I’m not afraid of anything.”

“No? Nothing?”

“Nothing I can think of.”

“Hmm.”

“Are you analyzing me now?”

“Kind of. I mean, you can’t say something like that to a therapist and expect her not to reflect on it a little bit, right?”

“And?”

“And what?”

“Do you think I’m a liar or a fool?”

“Neither,” she answered. “I think you mean what you say. I think you only lie when you have to, and even then, you hate it. And if I dug a little deeper—which I won’t, because my sisters have told me it’s annoying and intrusive—I think I might discover that it’s because above all, you value your honor. Your word.”

For a moment, I was too stunned to think or move or speak. Then I said, “I take it back.”

“Take what back?”

“What I said. That I’m not afraid of anything.”

“Oh? And what are you afraid of?”

She swung back toward me and I caught her around the waist. Put my lips to her ear. “Your ability to read my mind.”

Beneath my arms I could feel her chest expand and contract faster. “I’m sorry, Ryan. I know I shouldn’t say those—”

“Come home with me,” I said, my voice raw with something like thirst. I pressed my lips to her throat and breathed in her scent. I let one hand move toward her breast. I waited for an elbow to the ribcage, a cry for help, a slap across the face. Because if she could read my mind right now, she’d know exactly what I wanted to do to her—and it was a long, detailed list.

“Yes,” she whispered. “Yes.”

A Gentleman for Christmas, an all-new standalone contemporary romance by Prescott Lane.

Some say “chivalry is dead.”
I don’t think so. Most women I know like a gentleman.
Protective, opens doors, treats women with respect, typically follows the rules.
But a gentleman doesn’t fall for his best friend’s woman. Current or ex.
And that’s what I’ve done.
During the Christmas season of all times — that magical time for decorations, gifts, family . . .
Yes, the girl who was off-limits for so long, who I’ve loved all my life, has come back in town and possibly back to me.
I can’t follow the gentleman rules this time. There’s too much at stake. I let her go once. I won’t let her go again.
What happens under the mistletoe, stays under the mistletoe.
Or does it?

Excerpt:

“Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife.”
Otherwise known as the original bros before hoes commandment.
I’m not advocating calling women hoes. It’s an expression, so put away your Encyclopedia of Political Correctness.
There are rules in life. The Ten Commandments were just the beginning. We have rules for everything. How to drive. How to dress. How to walk across the damn street. So why not rules for love? That’s how all this started — a set of rules between my buddies and me.
The Bro Code.
Obviously, bros before hoes is rule one. We vowed never to let a girl come between us, which meant if one of us liked a girl, she was forever off limits.
Little did I know our teenage pact would launch my multi-million dollar career. A little tweaking here and some socially acceptable rewording there and The Gentleman’s Handbook was born.
I’ve written books and given seminars on everything from how to find love, to how to propose, to how to have a successful long-distance relationship. You name it, and I’ve got rules for it. Personally, I’ve never been much of a rule follower, but that’s my little secret.
The funny thing is I’ve never been in love. Well, there is this one girl, but we won’t talk about her. It does no good to think about someone you can’t have and never will.
My lack of emotional commitment hasn’t slowed down my career one bit. Currently, I have two books on the New York Times Best Sellers List. My seminars sell out like a Drake concert.
I always find it interesting that the rules started between a group of male friends, but it’s mostly women that come to hear me speak. Occasionally, you see the poor sap boyfriend who was dragged along to listen, but for the most part it’s all women.
This time of the year is no exception. December first until January first is important for guys. Holidays are big for a lot of couples. If you don’t know what you’re doing for your lady, you better figure it out and fast. In fact, my rule is that you should be paying attention all year long.
Trust me on this. If you remember something she mentioned she liked three months ago and surprise her with it at Christmas, she’ll spread her legs before Santa even has time to slide down the chimney. Let’s be honest, that is always at least part of the goal for guys.
So my current work in progress tackles Christmas. A how-to guide for the holidays.
The Gentleman’s Rules for Christmas.

OUR REVIEW:

“The rules of being a gentleman, 5 stars”

Jax and Skylar were best friends growing up and eventually those feelings changed. Skylar thought that meant maybe they could date but Jax’s loyalties lay elsewhere. But now they are older and apparently have another chance. Will Jax make a move? If so, will Skylar be open to it?

I have no problem admitting that I love Lane and her ability to puts words on paper and make one fall into a story. A Gentleman for Christmas though, I freaking adored. I’m not a huge fan of holiday stories but this one may have just changed my stance. I was cheering for these two from the get-go. They have some big obstacles ahead of them and only they know if they will push through. If you take a chance on A Gentleman for Christmas, you will not regret it. Go one-click now.

Genre: New Adult

Blurb

She came into my life without warning. It wasn’t love at
first sight, but the more time I spent with her, I knew she was the one. Our
relationship was complicated, and I knew I had my work cut out for me. I have
to prove to her that she’s all I see. That no matter how the past reads, we can
re-write the future.

He’s the sexiest one of the group, in my personal opinion. We’re friends, and
colleagues, well technically he’s my boss. He’s also the man that consumes my
thoughts, and my desires. I have too much at stake to allow myself to jump into
bed with him, but I really really want to.

One taste and I know I’ll never be the same. Cassidy can prolong this all she
wants, but I know how it ends. When she’s mine.

He’s relentless, and I let him drag me under his spell. It
can’t happen again, but Gavin, he’s Insistent that this is just the beginning.

OUR REVIEW:

“When you know you know, 5 stars”

I absolutely adored Gavin and Cassidy. Insistent wasn’t a love at first sight story or even an easy love kind of story. But it was my favorite story where once they were together there was no going back. There was no big shocking scene towards the end where they questioned it, which I LOVE! Go one-click for my favorite type of love story.

Gavin slowly but surly fell in love with Cassidy. He can’t tell you exactly when he fell in love with her, but he can tell you when he realized it. Only problem is he’s not with her. Cassidy keeps denying him even though he can tell she feels the same way. When a scouting trip calls for them to go together he sees it as the perfect chance to make his move.

Cassidy wants Gavin, there’s no denying it, but she knows sometimes you can’t have what you want. Cassidy doesn’t see a HEA for her and Gavin and she knows she wouldn’t survive with if she let him in and he walked away. But sometimes life surprises you if you just let go. What happens when Cassidy stops trying to keep him at arm’s length, will she find forever?

Release Blitz & Review - Depravity - Natalie Bennett

Title: Depravity
Author: Natalie Bennett
Genre: Dark Erotic Romance
Release Date: November 27, 2018

I was born an ordinary girl with a tiny seed of sickness.

As I got older it grew bigger, manifesting into something sinister.

Mama told me to lock it away and let it wither.

I didn’t know how.

So I hid it.

Solitude became my closest companion.

Solo, single, lonely.

Until Declan.

Until Ethan.

They were drawn to my sickness like moths to a flame.

With them, I was nurtured into something special.

With them, I flourished in depths of decay and darkness.

(mm/mmf/ mfm.) Standalone.

Whew. What a down and dirty novel. If you like novels that are unconventional and on the dark side then this book is for you. Depravity is just what you would expect with a title like that. I have to say that I loved every single minute of it. This book is full of triggers so buyer beware.

Man. The plot of this book blew my mind. I have read this author before so I was expecting more of the other series I have read. What I got was so much better. This book is set in what I would consider modern day. The blurb is just so darn intriguing. It made me want to know what in the heck was going on with this chick. I cannot say much more without giving too much away.

The characters in this book are so dynamic. As I pulled back each layer of each character, I was surprised by the new things I learned. Add in their interactions with each other and it really made for a wonderful story. Again, I cannot say much more because I feel it will take away from the story.

Of course the heat in this book is top notch. This is a MMF book. If you don’t like those, then you should probably avoid this book. If you do like these, then this book is for you. This is such a wonderful aspect of the book. The heat is perfect and wonderful just like the characters and plot.

The writing style of this book is amazing. The story is told in a dual point of view. The pace of the book is steady. The twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end. My only complaint is I wish that we got to see parts of the story from Ethan’s point of view. I think that would have enhanced the story.

Overall, this is a great story. I really enjoyed the plot of it. I wish I could reveal more, but I really feel it would be a disservice to you and the author. So go take a chance on this crazy, dark read. You won’t regret it.
