Destiny Bennett has always attracted the bad boys and when she finds herself at the center of an MC war, Kade must act quickly to save her from the wrath of Adriel.

Will this Savage Lover expel his own demons to be the one Destiny needs to heal her brokenness? Or will Kade continue to allow his past to haunt him and extinguish any hope of a happily ever after?

Our Review

It's 11.30 at night right now, and I still don't have the words to say what I want to say. There were moments I was grinning like the Cheshire cat, moments I was eye rolling more than Anastasia, moments my heart dropped into my stomach and stopped me dead and even a moment when I was thanking all and sundry for the miracle (more on that later). In fact I'll explain it all, but while I assimilate my feelings, lets recap.

The Savage Angels MC are well on their way to cleaning up their business and their reputation in Tourmeline after all the mess at Dane & Kats wedding. And with the inclusion of three nomads and some new businesses, everything and everyone is thriving. Until they're not.

Kat & Dane are tested beyond their capacity, Kades budding new "thing" with Destiny is stopped before its started and death and destruction is surrounding them and closing in. All thanks to the new sociopath president of the rival MC, 'Deaths Minions'. Battles are fought, in life, on the streets and in the heart. Just how strong can Dane and his club be?

So, that's the story, now back to me.... I have a bunch of things to say, and I'm not sure where to start so this may be a jumble. But first I would like it on the record, that I actually hate Kat. Like I know she is a fictional character, but she has annoyed since book one and by the end of this book I was just done with her. She makes me livid, every time she talks (or thinks) that's when my eyes are rolling and I'm praying for a plague of locusts to take me away from her. I like Dane. I gots time for Dane. If Dane was my buddy, id help him bury the body.....

Anywho, I VERY NEARLY DIED! (Inside Joke) Thanks missus for not killing me. Me & my Bear love you lots for that.

"It's a fucking mess. The fire department has found another two bodies"
You literally had to scoop me up off the floor at this line. The not knowing, just about killed me.

Chapter 19 is just about my favourite chapter Kathleen has written. Oddly, no romance, all psycho drama and it was epic. As was this story. Of course there is the central couple to the book, Kade and Destiny, and they're just perfect for each other and I enjoy their dynamic and how they deal with the massive blow dealt to them. However what I enjoyed most about Savage Lover was that it wasn't just another 'sexy romance'. It was so much more.

And on that note, I need more. Book 5 please Mrs Kelly?!?!

REVIEW - Utterly Forgettable by R.B Hilliard

Title - Utterly Forgettable
Author - R.B Hilliard

Synopsis

Zane Mitchell does not do relationships, ever. When he lands himself in some seriously hot water with one woman, the last thing he expects is to be saved by another.

Cathryn Haines is taking a break from men. When she finds herself in a financial bind, her stepbrother has the perfect solution, move to Charlotte and work for his best friend.

Zane thinks Cathryn is plain.

Cathryn thinks Zane is emotionally stunted.

Both couldn’t be more wrong….

Neither of them is looking for a relationship.

Both of them fight it.

But in the end, love wins. Every. Time.

My Thoughts

Utterly Unforgettable is a story about Zane Mitchell and Catherine Haines.  Zane is the owner of Riverbend and Whiskey’s. He needs help running Riverbend which is an apartment complex so Blake his best friend and partner at Whiskey’s told Zane that his stepsister, Catherine (aka Cat) will be the perfect solution. Catherine runs into some issues and she needs a place to stay so this is a perfect opportunity a new job and a place to stay for free. Blake told her to try it for 6 months and if it doesn’t work she can leave.  Blake informed Zane to not ‘hit on’ his stepsister. Blake also told Cat that she isn’t Zane’s type.   However when they meet and start working together it is hard to resist the temptation.

This is my first time reading a book by R. B. Hilliard. I’m so glad I got a chance to read it!  It was really good that I finished it in two hours!!  I couldn’t put it down. The writing style was great, captivating and interesting. The main characters Zane and Catherine were my favorite. I was laughing through-out the entire story.  The supporting characters were a good addition as well.  I didn’t want to finish it and wish it didn’t end. Maybe it will continue. Everything was just great, smooth sailing!
I’d recommend this book to anyone that likes romance.

Parts of the story I liked:

“Tell him five thousand a month for six months plus a free place to stay and he’s got himself a new PA.”

“Zane Mitchell is a massive jerk, albeit an attractive one, but a jerk nonetheless.”

“She told me she could make little Zane feel like a perky pickle.”    *This is really funny*

“Cathryn is extremely dependable but utterly forgettable.”

“Newsflash, it’s the innocent looking ones who are the wildest.”

I also thought it was cute that the author put a little intermission in the book something different.

REVIEW - Black Roses (The Mitchell Sisters #3) by Samantha Christy

Title - Black Roses (The Mitchell Sisters #3)
Author - Samantha Christy

Synopsis

-Piper Mitchell-
April 25th was the day I was born.
It was also the day I died.
Blood was still rushing through my veins. Oxygen was still saturating my cells. But for all intents and purposes, I ceased to be among the living.
Going back to New York for my sister’s wedding was a mistake, but I made her a promise.
It would be a quick trip. Show up, say the right words, then I’d be gone. This time for good.
I didn’t think anyone could understand what was taken from me that fateful day.
Not until I met him.

-Mason Lawrence-
I threw a football in front of eighty thousand people.
Mingling with the rich and famous was just another part of my job.
Nothing made me nervous.
Not until she walked off that plane and into my life.
She was broken. Shattered by some event she kept hidden under lock and key.
The clues on her body failed to reveal her secrets—unlike the clues on my body that clearly publicized mine.
The clock was ticking, giving me only a few short months to uncover the true meaning of the flower branded into her flesh.
Because if she got back on that plane, I knew it would be forever.

My Thoughts

Piper Mitchell, the elusive baby sister of Baylor and Skylar. If you’ve read about the other two sisters then youve heard of Piper, but you never got a feel for her. If you havent read the other books in the Mitchell Sister Series, thats okay too. Black Roses is a standlone novel, but personally i think it makes more sense if you’ve read the first two books.

Piper left home right after high school graduation with her best friend Charlotte to travel Europe. In the four years since shes only been back to the states a day here a day there. All she wants is to stay far away from the bad memories that home holds. Only problem is she made a deal with Skylar that if she ever got married she would come home to plan Sky’s wedding. So shes back state side for an unknown time. Piper fights to keep her past at bay. Piper tries everything to keep from everyone around her just how jaded she actually is. It doesn’t work though, because Sky’s fiancés best friend Mason sees right through her and her act.

Mason Lawrence knows jaded when he sees it, because he’s the same way. Mason got screwed, only he doesn’t completely see it until the end of the book. He is a professional football player, and like most killer athletes the sharks swam around him in college. Poor Mason got bite and ended up with a daughter. Thats okay though, his little girl is the light of his life no matter how nuts her mother is.

Mason swore off women when he had his daughter, until he lays his eyes on Piper. Its a constant fight between the two. Mason is willing to give it a go, but Piper wants nothing to do with him. Will the two give it a go? Will pasts come back to haunt them? For sure secrets will be revealed. Samantha Christy proves in Black Roses that there is nothing quite like home.
I don’t want to ruin this story for anyone, so all I will say is read it. Its not a light read, but it is a fast one. Your emotions will range all over the place, but it is worth it. There are no more sisters, but I hope this isn’t the last of the Mitchell sisters for us readers. The family is a riot. Here are some of my favorite pieces of Black Rose;

“One big fat tear rolls down her face, right before her lips turn up into a precious untroubled smile. The smile that sends strong gripping hands through my body, taking a powerful and eternal hold of my heart.”

“Piper has my daughter in her arms; the type of embrace shared by a mother and child. She is swaying back and forth, rocking Hailey in a gentle calming motion.”

“And while she drinks—I breathe. I breathe what I know is the first air of our new life together.”

Ragan’s Song (Fairfield Corners Book 2)
By L.A. Remenicky
Re-Release Date: April 1, 2016
Published by Lavish Publishing
Genre ~ Paranormal Romance
It only took one look into his eyes for her to know she was in trouble.
Adam Bricklin has heard the melody in his head for years, the melody that told him if a decision was right or wrong. When he met Ragan Newlin the song told him she was the one. He was devastated when circumstances tore them apart. It has taken three years for Adam to finally move past the heartbreak he suffered when Ragan left town in the middle of the night. No note, no email, no text. She was just gone. Now he has a new girlfriend, a new album in the works, and his daughter is doing well in school. Until the day Ragan returned to Fairfield Corners.
Ragan came home to celebrate her parent’s anniversary hoping they would forgive her for not telling them about her marriage or her son. When she discovered that Adam was still living in Fairfield Corners she hoped her secrets were safe; secrets that drove her away three years ago, secrets that could change their lives forever.

OUR REVIEW

Ragan was once in love. They had a whirlwind romance that was short lived. When Ragan startedreceiving death threats she ran away from the only place she had ever known and the man she loved. Several years later she finds herself back home only to find the man she once loved is still in town. Which raises problems for shew full of secrets. Will they make it through the fire this time unscathed?
Adam had to go out of town only to return and find the love of his life has disappeared into the night. Adam has coasted since Ragan left, with the help of his daughter he is starting to get his life on track. Only to be derailed by the return of Ragan. Will he get the answers he has longed for? Will they find a way back to each other?
Now personally I had issued with this book. The writing was good, and the plot was solid, but for me thats where it fell apart. They didnt actually get back together. There was no courting. There was one scene that had me wonder WTF because it was out of left field. The only part that was decent to me when she found out who her stalker was.
I guess I felt like the book was rushed and way too short. It has the potential to be a good book but it just fell flat.
