Release Blitz & Review - Tonic - Staci Hart

Title: Tonic
Author: Staci Hart
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: October 13, 2016

Blurb

Joel Anderson doesn’t take anything seriously.

Not his relationships, which have been few and far between since his brutal divorce. Not the drama of working in a tattoo parlor, which seems to be around every corner. When things get him down, he smiles and cracks a joke. But he’s not the kind of man you cross, or you’ll find yourself at the wrong end of his fists.

Annika Belousov takes everything seriously.

Like her job as a reality television producer, given that she typically has something to prove. Or her love life, which is defined by a series of requirements — affluent, ambitious, accomplished, to name a few. Definitely her family, who worked their whole lives to afford her every opportunity, a sacrifice she doesn’t take lightly. When she’s tapped to produce a reality show at Joel’s shop, she doesn’t think twice, just goes in for the kill, as if there were any other way.

The second Annika walks into Joel’s shop, he makes it his mission to crack her open, but she’s not having it. He’s all wrong — too crass, too hairy, too un-serious. But it doesn’t take her long to find out there’s more to him than smirks and tattoos. And what she finds could put her career and his heart on the line.

Not that Joel cares. Because for the first time in a long time, he’s found his tonic.

Our Review

I absolutely loved the joint release of Staci Hart and Kandi Steiner and both books looked so amazing, I had to sign up for both! It was so slick, and the covers were stunning!

After having my head and heart squashed by A Love letter to Whisky, I wondered what would be in store from Tonic. Apparently a romantic comedy (which I don't normally read) and from another author I've yet to read, so I had no clue what to expect. But I was actually completely wowed by this story, that's two fantastic stories from two fantastic (new to me) authors!! Yay!

This time we are set in a Tattoo shop, which I absolutely love. Joel, a hairy and inked up Tattooist runs Tonic with his younger brother Shep, another hairy, inked up hottie. Shep has persuaded Joel to let a TV production crew film a reality show in Tonic, and follow the employee's every move. Joel hates the idea, and only agrees to get back at his ex and her boyfriend, who run the other local Tattoo shop, otherwise they would of got the deal. So reluctantly Tonic accepts the tv deal and meet up with the crew. What he didn't expect is, the producer to be an absolutely stunning blonde, who is completely the opposite of him, in looks and personality, and who is going to fight his flirty nature every step of the way. Obviously that's game on for Joel.

So begins a really snappy, funny, and enjoyable story. It's written in an addictive and crazily entertaining style. Joel and Annika are completely feisty, stubborn and determined to get what they want. But it's funny, stupidly sexy, and eventually really sad and sweet. Some of the lines had me giggling like mad, whereas other certain parts had me completely welling up something stupid, a certain Kaz. I loved how this story was a unique twist on a setting that is used quite often these days. Everyone loves Tattooists with crazy amounts of hair, but a reality show in a tattoo joint, is completely new to me, and I loved it! Also loved the Russian details, from Annika's background and family, I found those really interesting, and a great addition to the story.

If you want a stupidly hot, inked up bearded dude, and a gorgeous, feisty lady who won't stand for any crap. Mix in some crazy funny lines, awesome setting, and of course page melting hot scenes. Then this story is a MUST READ. Emotions a plenty, sex a plenty. Great writing, and totally additive.

4 inked up stars!!

Author Bio

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life: a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, even though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.

From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's sleeping, cleaning, or designing graphics.
