Release + Review - My Almost Ex - Piper Rayne

In the middle of a crowded bar in our small Alaskan town, my estranged wife snuggles up to me as if we’re still a happy couple.

Don’t get me wrong, we were a happy couple—before she walked out on me a year ago. We were the high school sweethearts everyone thought were destined to be together forever. We thought so too, which is why we married shortly after graduation.

We had a good marriage. Until she left me without any real explanation.

Now, she’s back—and this is the real kicker—she has amnesia and thinks I’m still her husband. Technically I am, although the divorce papers are sitting at the lawyer’s office.

She’s desperate to remember her life in Sunrise Bay but I only want to find out why she left me. Once we conjure that memory up, it’s sayonara because there’s no second chances here. But as you probably already figured out, things didn’t go quite as I planned.

Johnaka's Review
“Second chances, 5 stars”

Adam and Lucy were childhood sweethearts who were madly in love. Or so Adam thought until one day Lucy walked out without giving him a reason. Now a year later she’s back in town. Adam wants answers as to why Lucy left, and he wants to protect his heart until he does. But will Adam be able to protect his heart from the only woman who’s ever claimed it?

There are so many things I could say about My Almost Ex, but I don’t want to give the story away. I really wanted to hate Lucy, I won’t lie. But I think she did enough hating herself for the both of us and in the end redeemed herself. Piper and Rayne took a trope that usually I’m not a fan of and made me enjoy it. For that alone, this book deserves 5 stars. Add in the fact I got to see the rest of the Greene family and well, they hit it out of the park. Now if only I can get my hands on the next one as soon as possible…

Louise's Review

My Almost Ex is book 2 in the new Greene Family series, a blended family that carries a fair share of drama around with them.

Adam has just been making it through each day, his high school sweetheart/wife left him and he still doesn't know why but when she turns  up on his door believing that they are still together and nothing has happened this is his chance to find out what went wrong. Lucy is struggling she remembers some very minor things but is forgetting the big things; when it all comes to light will she run for the 2nd time?

I personally enjoyed this story, Piper and Rayne continue to create characters that pull you in and make you want to be part of the family. I am looking forward to the next installment My Vegas Groom.
