Our Review
So this is the second book to Secrets and Lace. I assumed this would be the book where we would get all the answers, but instead we are left with more questions. Hopefully book three will put all of us out of our misery and let us know what happens. Nonetheless we did get some answers.
By now we know that Miles is actually a guy named Alvin and Chole’s given name is Kelly. We know they decided to run away and elope and not tell anyone. In theory this is crazy romantic, unless you’re married to a nut job. We all wonder if Chole will make it off the yacht. Well she does but who knows if she will be alive for long.
Alvin/ Miles wants to ruin Chole. He will slowly break her. He wants to cause her pain similar to what she caused him when they were younger. What he doesnt account for is how strong Chole actually is. And when she finally finds a way to get help help comes in the form of the least likely person.
Then there is Jim. I guess you could say hes Alvins henchman. He ignores every single crazy thing going on between the two as long as he possibly can. When the time comes for him to decide between the two who will he choose?
Money will be spent, violence will happen, and lives will be lost. Secrets and Tears was a good book but felt short. I wish Lavelle would have made one long second book instead of dragging the story out. It honestly felt like a novella style tease then a book to me. Here are some quotes from the book;
