Release Blitz & Review - The Ex Effect - Karla Sorensen

Title: The Ex Effect
Author: Karla Sorensen
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: December 5, 2018
Cover Design: Najla Qamber Designs

The headline could write itself:
Matthew Hawkins, star defensive end, comes out of retirement to play for the Washington Wolves.

Which is perfectly fine by Ava Baker—it makes her job as publicist for the team easier.

There’s only two problems. This particular football player was her first crush.

The bigger problem: Matthew Hawkins was once engaged to her older sister.

It’s been ten years since Ava has seen Matthew. He’s bigger, better looking, and best of all—completely single. Despite his history with her sister, the attraction between Ava and Matthew isn’t so one-sided anymore.

It’s hot enough to burn down the entire city of Seattle.

But this headline is far more complicated to write. And not just for the press or what it means for her family— because once her heart is involved, there’s no predicting the ending.

“Sometimes you just have to let go, 5 stars”

Ava is a bad ace. She’s strong, sassy, and lets no one get away with anything. She may be the PR Girl for the Washington Wolves, but those football players? They are under her thumb. When a new football player comes onto the team, she didn’t expect for her life to flip. Only it did in the form of a ghost from her past.

Mathew love’s the game and can’t stay away. It’s been the one constant in his life when nothing else has. What he didn’t expect was to see sweet little Ava at the front office of his new team. Only there is nothing about Ava that is little anymore, oh no she’s full on woman. Is he willing to make a move on the one woman who has always understood and supported him? Or will ghosts from his past keep him from doing so?

I love Sorensen and was more than excited when this story finally hit my kindle. I’m not a huge football fan but something about how Sorensen crafts a story changes that for however long the book is. The best part is, she knows her stuff. If I could have chosen someone for Ava, I wouldn’t have chosen anyone else. After I finished The Ex Effect I dreamed of Mathew and Ava. Only it wasn’t the normal dreams of how I would change the story if I wrote it. No, I dreamed about farther in their future and I can only hope we get a little sneak of it in the next story in the Washington Wolves series.

Go one-click, you wont regret it with the way Sorensen writes.

Well, let’s see ... I’m a wife and a mother. If the things that I write bring a smile to someone's face, then I've done my job. I am obsessed with Outlander (both the books and the show). I’m almost exclusively a romance reader, which means some people will never consider me a literary snob. If I could meet one historical figure, it would be Jane Austen. I received my Bachelors in Public Relations and worked in health care marketing before I had my babies. I hate Twitter. I do it, but I hate it. Also, if you want to get on my good side, bring me wine and I'll love you forever.
