Start the slow clap! What an amazing book. Troublemaker was the book I was looking forward to most. This book basically started in book one, but this is now the time that we get to know more intimate details. I really enjoyed the plot and characters.
If you have been following the series, then you knew this book was coming. Hayley and Dante have been a source of tension over the span of these books. I mean we know there is something more than what we are reading. This book is what tells us what that is. We get to see what is going on and get better insight into each character.
Hayley has always been a favorite of mine. She is spunky and confident. I love her determination and the fact that she is happy just being her. Then you have Dante. He can be kind of a jerk, but I can see his reasonings behind it. He is the series darker version of Eeyore. Loveable, but still has a lot of baggage. I really loved him.
The heat between these two has been there since book one. Their chemistry is one that has been seen and commented on by many of the other characters. So to see their heat through the eyes of each character is a blessing. The heat continues to climb higher as you read each page.
The writing style of this book is great. The story is told from a dual point of view. This is so important in this story especially because we really haven’t had a chance to get to know him due to his quiet nature. I liked that we got to see the other characters in the series as well. This was really a great ending to a series.
Overall, I really liked this book. Dante was everything I expected and more. This book was a quick and easy read with everything needed to make a great novel. Nothing felt forced in this book. Needless to say, I would recommend this book to others.
Writing Style: 5/5
What a great ending to the Rascal’s series, I have read all 5 books in the series and I have loved them all. Dante and Hayley have been behind the scenes throughout the series and it was nice to finally get their stories.
Dante has been hiding his true feelings for years, feeling that he was not good enough to be with Hayley or that her brother would not approve. Hayley knows what she wants in a man and Dante ticks all those boxes, she knows that if he gave her a chance, they would make it. When it starts to get heated, Dante takes a step back to keep Hayley safe and protect himself. Dante has to make a choice; Break the heart of the woman he loves or step up and be the man he needs to be.
Dante is a closed book, he is gruff and doesn’t enjoy anyone prying into his personal life; he continues everyday trying to be the person everyone needs. Hayley is the princess; she is rich, comes from an amazing family and has a heart of gold. Always putting everyone else first and trying to solve their problems.
I personally loved this story, 2 very different people who come together and face challenges together, I am so sad that this series is over but I cannot wait for McCoy to unleash a new book as I know ill fall in love with whatever she writes next.
Writing Style: 5/5Overall: 5/5
