Release + Review - Karla Sorensen - The Marriage Effect

Blurb:
Logan Ward doesn’t want any more women in his life.

Being a football player and legal guardian to his four younger sisters means his playbook is full. However, one of them just landed in the hospital, which gives his brother the shot he needs to challenge Logan for custody.

Legal counsel says there’s only one thing Logan can do—find himself a wife.

Paige McKinney doesn’t always think things through.

Like walking away from her modeling career without a thought of what might come next. She really doesn’t think it through when she proclaims herself Logan’s fiancĂ© at the hospital, simply because the sexy—albeit grumpy—football player forgot his cell phone at a party and security won’t let her pass. It’s not her fault it was overheard by the worst possible person.

A bargain is struck, and a fake marriage is the perfect solution. But the simple solution creates a whole new problem: they’re not as different as they seem. The reluctant groom has fire inside him, and his impetuous bride is about to light the match.

Author Bio:

Well, let’s see ... I’m a wife and a mother. If the things that I write bring a smile to someone's face, then I've done my job.  I am obsessed with Outlander (both the books and the show). I’m almost exclusively a romance reader, which means some people will never consider me a literary snob. If I could meet one historical figure, it would be Jane Austen. I received my Bachelors in Public Relations and worked in health care marketing before I had my babies. I hate Twitter. I do it, but I hate it. Also, if you want to get on my good side, bring me wine and I'll love you forever.

Johnaka's Review

“Marriage of convenience, 5 stars”

I have been sitting here trying to figure out how to write a review for the Marriage Effect without giving anything away. Sorensen wrote a funny, witty, loyal, and feisty heroine. Paige is my favorite kind of heroine. Logan is quiet, loyal, and contemplative. He’s one of those guys who sees every possible outcome to every situation. Together they shouldn’t work but oh boy do they.

The heat between these two sizzles. The tension is unlike any Sorensen has given us in the past and it was fantastic. Then you add in the secondary characters and The Marriage Effect became pure perfection. One thing is for sure Sorensen keeps writing stories that top one after another.

This isn’t your typical marriage of convenience story and you would be a fool not to one-click.

Jenn's Review

Holy Moly! What an amazing flipping book! The Marriage Effect is unlike any other book that I have read. It takes the popular genre of fake marriage and spins it on its head. If you like romance with twists and turns, then take a chance on this book. You will not be disappointed.

The plot of this book is refreshing. I really enjoyed how the author used a popular trope and made it her own. I mean really. Gah. I can't even say anymore because I do not wanna spoil it.

Paige is such a wonderful character. I loved how caring and kind she is. There is not a selfish bone in her body. I love that most about her. Then you have Logan. He is a tough guy. That is until you get to know the real him. I loved watching his rough edges smooth out a bit.

Holy heat. These characters have bomb chemistry. I loved watching them bicker with each other. Each jab thrown was just adding to the mounting heat. I loved it.

The writing style of this story is perfect. The pace of the book is steady. The characters are interesting. The story is told from a dual point of view. The twists and turns are perfect.

Overall, what are you doing reading my reviews you should be reading this book instead. Don't take my word for it. Go enjoy it for yourself while I sit here jealous that you get to read it for the first time!
