REVIEW - Lord and Master by Kait Jagger

Title - Lord and Master
Author - Kait Jagger

Synopsis
Luna Gregory has everything she needs. A dream job as personal assistant to the Marchioness of Lionsbridge, and a home on the 500-year-old Arborage Estate. But her encounter with Swedish entrepreneur Stefan Lundgren, charismatic, devastatingly attractive-and third in line to inherit the estate-leaves her irresistibly captivated. What Stefan doesn't know is that he and Luna have met before, that he is drawn by more than just her English reserve and quiet beauty. Luna has her reasons for concealing the truth from him-she's built an entire life for herself based on keeping the past in the past.

Stefan initiates Luna into a world of sexual exploration where they push the boundaries of pleasure and control, the ties that bind them, literally, in desire. Not content with possessing Luna physically, Stefan wants all of her. But he is keeping his own secrets, secrets that could drive them apart

What it's all about
PA Luna Gregory & The Boss Stefan Lundgren, and how office romances are never a good idea. Or are they?

What I thought
When I read the blurb, I thought Hmmm, this sounds different. It kinda made it sound like a historical romance (and I really don't like them), but there was something about it, that made me think 'No, I wanna try that'.

So I did, and I'm glad I did.

"You English, you always expect everyone else to speak English"

Luna is a woman in her mid twenties working as a PA for the gaffer of some huge country manor. Luna has not had the easiest of lives but has built her life up and is happy with who she is and what she does, just cracking on with life until a handsome stranger, who is not really a stranger enters the fold. Stefan, is the Marquess / Marchioness (The gaffers) cousin and he has come along with all his business nouse to help the grand household out and give them a plan for a more prosperous future, but when he meets Luna the household business is the last thing on his mind!

" 'I should warn you' he said softly, but with intent. 'that if you continue looking at me like that, I'm going to drag you into one of these stables and....' "

The story was really well written and I was very surprised that this was the authors first book. My only issue was the sex scenes. The just felt kind of clinical and although written in the same manner as the rest of the book, they just didn't seem to fit in. They just felt surplus to requirements. Thats just my opinion, someone else might find them all very illicit and exactly what they like!

This is book one in a trilogy, and it was less than five minutes after finishing, before I was hunting the author down on facebook to tell her I needed book two. Yes not want, NEED! It was a steady enjoyable pace throughout until the last few chapters, where I became well and truly engrossed. What an ending, and that epilogue!!!!

So to summarise, the sexy stuff was neither here nor there for me, but as a romance it was great. I want more Soren (and hopefully Christian) and I hope there is more from the point of the epilogue (hard to explain that with no spoilers) And lady, that excerpt from book two..... you tease!!

"She was the Arg Flicka, and she belonged to him"

On a personal note, I am an admin girl and there were a few points when I read this and thought 'Oh I know that feeling' or 'Ooh I hate when they do that' Like when someone (who is not your boss) tells you to go and get them a brew or sending an email on the the gaffers behalf! So I was feeling very happy with myself when I saw that Kait Jagger was in fact an actual PA. And that reflects in the story!

"Luna, Luna, I need you"
