REVIEW - This Love - Anna Bloom

Title - This Love

Author - Anna Bloom

BLURB:

Amber's always planned to leave her overbearing mother and their stifling small town behind as soon as she graduates. That is until her car breaks down outside Bale and Son's mechanics and she meets Freddy Bale. A boy who'd rather live in the moment than make a five-year-plan.

Ignoring her friends' warnings, Amber puts all dreams for her perfect future on hold, and dives into the romance heart first. On their last day of school, however, Freddy decides to call off their relationship, and Amber does the only thing she can think of: Run away and never look back. Just like she'd always planned.

Ten years pass before Amber sets foot in town again, only returning to look after her ailing mother. While Freddy wants to make amends, Amber is confronted with her own wrong choices from ten years ago. Choices that could change the lives of everyone she's ever loved.

When first love is given a second chance and the secrets of the past come hurtling into the present, will Amber and Freddy be able to lay their mistakes to rest and make this love the strongest one of all?

What I Thought:

*contains spoilers*

Falling in love when your young can be tough.
For Amber and Freddy it was just that. He was 20, she was 18 and in her final year of secondary school before heading off to Uni.
They fell hard and they fell fast. Which meant when they fell apart it was of epic proportions.
Amber never saw it coming, and like a typical male Freddy thought he was doing what was best for Amber.
He didn't want her to give up her dreams, to stay with him, and grow to resent him the way her mother did her father.
Ten years later Amber moves back home. She moved home because she found out her mother is very sick. Which gives her the perfect reason to leave her failed marriage.
The poor woman isn't even home a day before she runs into her former best friend in the village, who then reaches out to Freddy that she is back.
Only they think she came back to town thinking she's alone when in reality she has Isaac, her nine year old son.
Now I don't want to give away too many details, so this is where I say this is your second chance/secret baby kinda book, but with some of its own twists.
I am a sucker for HEA, and this book definitely gives you one. I will just say I hope she gives us some more Isaac, because that could be fun.

**I was given an ARC of this book, in exchange for a fair and honest review**
