Our Review:
Welcome back to Uttira! Where reality meets fantasy! I didn’t
think this series could get any better, but I was wrong. Fury Focused is the
second book in the Of Fates and Furies series by Melissa Haag. Fury Frayed was an
amazing introduction into the world of Uttira, but Fury Focused was total
immersion into this new and wonderful world. This story has mystery, fantasy,
and a bit of romance. This book is not a stand-alone. Book 1 needs to be read
first.
I loved the plot of this book. Each book has an
interconnected plot, but this book takes it a step further. Megan has the
answer to what she is, she just doesn’t know what it means. I loved how the
author included different conflicts to test our heroine and keep the story
moving. I cannot wait to see where she takes the third book.
Megan is as feisty as ever. In Fury Focused, we get to see
more of her fiestyness, but also her determination. We also get to see how
protective she can get when she truly cares for someone. Oanen is the main male
character in this book. I love how understanding and patient he is. I feel like
his character needed to be patient in order to compliment Megan. I love his
character.
I also love each of the minor characters in this book. Each
add a different layer needed to really enhance the story in the best possible
way. Eliana is my favorite character. She is such a small shy thing, but she is
also feisty in her own way. Then you have Fenris. He is an interesting
character on his own. I was not expecting the twist that involves him. It was
amazing and added just another perfect layer to the Uttira cake.
The heat in this book is ramped up a bit, pun intended. Not
only is there literal heat and fire, but there is also a tad bit more romance
in this story. I loved watching as these characters all get to know each other.
Especially when some start to get closer. I don’t want to reveal too much, but
I loved this aspect to this book.
The pace of this book is a bit faster than the first, but it
feels organic to the story. Now that the character has more answers, it makes
sense for her to pick up the pace looking for the answers to the questions she
has left. This author really makes you feel like you are in this world with
these characters. She makes you feel invested in both the characters and the
story. I could not put this book down.
In conclusion, I am in love with Uttira. I cannot wait for
the next book to come out. I devoured this book and was deeply saddened when it
ended. This book has mystery and fantasy with a touch of romance, which is the
perfect formula for me. I would recommend this book to others and have already
have.
