Blurb

Once upon a time, six children stumbled upon a wild place hidden deep in the moors, shrouded by secrets and fog. There we played a game among the roses and the thorns that would change us forever, that would follow us the rest of our lives. A game that ended with a hard kiss in the rain and tattered flower petals fluttering from above…

And twelve years later, we’re back.
The heir.
The dreamer.
The priest.
The genius.
The socialite.
The saint.

I’m not going to dream of a forgotten place covered in thorns every night.
I won’t be enchanted by Thornchapel and its glossy, glamorous people. I’m not going to fall in love or have my heart torn in two.
I’m not telling the truth.

Because as this place slowly tightens its coil of secrets and thorns around us, as we uncover the knotted mysteries that grow here, the six of us begin to unravel into filthy, holy pleasure and pain. Fulfilling the promise we once made as children in those whispering ruins, and awakening a fate that will either anoint us or leave us in ashes…

OUR REVIEW:

Well, that was certainly entertaining!

So not a lot excites me these days in blurbs, I very rarely go mad for something that hasn't released, but when I saw this cover, I just had to go check it out.
So the blurb was kind of cryptic and the first thing I actually thought was 'hmmm sounds like something from an old Virginia Andrews plot' and of course that intrigued me more. I'm a shameless, huge fan of old style Virginia Andrews. I love the mystery, complex characters, huge secrets, masses of sex and of course taboo galore. But to top it all off, gothic mansions and hidden chapels are screaming to me 'read NOW' so I hunted it down as quick as my keyboard typing skills would allow me.

After squinting my 'too old to read at night these days' eyes and gripping my phone to death, I got this gripping story finished and to say I want more is a huge understatement.

This novel was incredibly well written, not just the main six characters that we follow in the story, and all their stories put together, but also the world that has been built within various times in the past too. I love how all the mystery is entwined between generations that have spent time in Thornchapel with all it's dark and twisted history. But the characters are amazing too, 6 completely different people who just seem drawn to each other through what would appear to be fate, or history or maybe some spell, who knows but I know I need more from them. A lot more.

I won't talk about actual content, the blurb is more than enough, and it's so exciting to go into this story with no knowledge and just let it unravel. It will totally consume you.
5 huge stars.
