Release + Review - Camden Walker Apartment 8c - Aly Stiles

After surviving severe trauma, Camden Walker has spent his life being trapped by labels. Now, at age twenty-seven, he’s fine being the gifted artist not wired for a world that’s left him scarred. All he wants is to break free and find the beauty that’s been stolen from him.

Painfully ordinary.

Olivia Price is used to being invisible and living in the shadow of her younger sibling. The fact that Olivia is secretly in love with her sister’s boyfriend is just another example of craving what Claire takes for granted.

But when Claire dumps Camden without a thought, Olivia can’t let go of the haunted green eyes she’s loved for so long—especially when they finally see her too.

Because maybe it takes the one not wired for this world to appreciate the one who’s been ignored by it.

And maybe it takes the only person who’s ever understood the wounded artist to show him he’s as radiant as his art.

Louise's Review

Camden Walker: Apartment 8c is book 2 in the Wreck Me series, a story that is emotional and will have you wanting to fix everything.

Dumped and living in a horrible apartment, a job that is just getting him by, Camden only wants to create his art and put his past behind him.

Olivia has had a crush, one that she has kept hidden for years and now she has a chance to spill her true feelings and put her feelings first.

I personally enjoyed this story, it took my emotions for a ride that is for sure. I have loved every story that I have read of Aly’s and I cam looking forward to what comes next.

Release + Review - Forever After All - Kaylee Ryan

I’ve always had a thing for my best friend’s older brother. In fact, I’ve been planning our wedding since elementary school. Then I grew up, moved away, and studying, and law school became my only focus.
Now that I’m back, the sexy cowboy is everywhere I turn. I shouldn’t mind so much as Rip Callahan is all levels of fine. My problem? His presence… his attention is sending me in a spin. And our reconnection? It’s fast and intense and everything I’ve ever dreamed of.
So why am I getting in my own way?
I didn’t know the first kiss I ever had would still play on my mind over ten years later. But with beauty and brains, McKenna Dawson is under my skin and very much off-limits.
Crushing on my sister’s best friend isn’t the worst part. That connection? I can’t ignore it. Should I fight it? Probably. Do I want to? Absolutely not.
A challenge among friends is all it takes for me to know she’s what I’ve been missing. That and one incredible trip with those same friends means there’s no going back. Not for me.
It was only supposed to be a weekend, but maybe we were meant to be forever after all.

Louise's Review

Forever After All is a fantastic standalone story that takes you on a journey from the moment you read page 1.

Rip and McKenna have been friends for a long time, playing together in the back of their houses, there has always been something there for them and when McKenna comes home after getting her degree Rip knows this is his chance.

I personally enjoyed this story, Ryan creates amazing romances that have you hooked from the beginning.

Release + Review - Falling For The Villain - M. Robinson & Rachel Van Dyken

From Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling Author M. Robinson & #1 NYT Bestselling Author Rachel Van Dyken comes a full length, standalone dark romance novel.

“Play for me, Juliet…”

Those four words whispered in my ear again and again until I craved what I used to fear.
Such a simple demand from my captor—the man who stole me and refused to tell me why he wouldn’t let me go.

I was his.

He made me need him, just as much as he needed me.
I broke all the rules of the golden prison he put me in.

During the day he ruled his dark, seedy world.
His subjects and me.

During the night—he bowed before my feet.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the villains in all the fairy tales you read?
You’ll soon find out.

It all started when he kidnapped me and made me his pet.
And it all ended with me…

Calling him master.

*This story is not for the faint of heart and may be uncomfortable for some readers. But, then again, stepping outside of your comfort zone may be exactly the thing you need…

Care to play with us, readers?

Johnaka's Review
“Kidnapping and training, 4 stars”

He’s wanted her since the moment he saw her and has waited, and now he has her. He just needs to break her to put her back together. Show her what she can be.

She thought she was happy and then she was kidnapped. Now her captor has her questioning everything. She shouldn’t want the man who ripped her away from her life, right?

I highly enjoyed Falling for the Villain. The chemistry between these two was off the charts. You couldn’t help but cheer for them to come out on top, no matter how messed up it was. I can’t believe I’m going to say this but with all the hype about how it took a twist and was darker than they expected, I wanted it to be darker. That’s the only reason it’s a 4. I don’t know what that says about me, but that’s just what it is.

If you have any sort of triggers though, I would think twice before reading this story.

Release - Control Artist - Carrie Aarons

Dahlia Akana has no idea where she’s going in life.

All she’s ever wanted to do is travel, and her inner circle pressuring her to figure out her purpose only makes her wanderlust grow stronger. But she’s comfortable being a nanny to her nieces in the small Pennsylvania town where her sister lives. Though she’s far overstayed her desired timeline, it’s a place filled with friends and familiarity while she plots her next move.

Until she meets the devastatingly gorgeous, obnoxious rookie who is slated to be the next superstar on the town’s top tier baseball team. He’s everything she doesn’t want, but can’t seem to stay away from. As they spend more time together, she discovers that he might just be the anchor she’s always looked for.

When secrets, lies, and a humiliating public scandal rock their world, will she be able to stay with him? Fight for him? Or will her age-old tactic of fleeing erase any shot at a happily ever after?

Garrett Chester has always known exactly what he wants.

To be the best pitcher in the history of the major leagues. And luckily, with more talent in his pinky than other people have in their entire body, he’s well on his way. It’s his attitude that leaves something to be desired. Cocky, reckless and soaking up his newfound fame, the rookie attracts the attention of the tabloid press.

When he meets the feisty woman just as beautiful as the flower she’s named after, she gives him a refreshing reality check. With each passing day, not only does he fall harder, but she makes him want to be a better man.

Except the past that haunts him inevitably catches up, and ends up taking her down with him. Alone, exposed and cast out, it’s a reminder of the childhood trauma that has always plagued him. Can he put the rumors to rest, piece together a career in shambles, and be the hero she needs?

Author of romance novels such as The Tenth Girl and Privileged, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. A former journalist, she prefers the love stories of her imagination, and the athleisure dress code, much better.

When she isn't writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She’s a Jersey girl living in Texas with her husband, daughter, son and Great Dane/Lab rescue.

Release + Review - The Wicked Aftermath - Melissa Foster

When the person you blame for your grief is the only one who can save you from the pain…

Tank Wicked lost his sister and has since vowed to save everyone else in his path. He lives by the creed of the Dark Knights motorcycle club, sworn to protect and respect his community. He selflessly saves lives as a volunteer firefighter and treats the men and women who work for him at his tattoo shop like family. But life isn’t a balance scale where good deeds negate bad things to come, and one foggy night life guts Tank once again. When a car careens over the side of a bridge and into a river, Tank springs into action, plunging into the water to rescue the passengers. Four people go into the river, but only three come out alive.

Leah Yates is just trying to make it through each day. When the man she blames for her grief becomes the only one who can pull her from the depths of despair, she discovers that even hope comes at a price. Maybe this time she won’t have to face it alone.

THE WICKED AFTERMATH is an emotionally gripping story of love, loss, and hope, with a rich and entrancing happily ever after. Set on the sandy shores of Cape Cod, the Wickeds feature fiercely protective heroes, strong heroines, and unbreakable family bonds. If you think bikers are all the same, you haven’t met the Dark Knights. The Dark Knights are a motorcycle club, not a gang. Their members stick together like family and will stop at nothing to keep their communities safe. Some of the Wickeds’ love stories will be hilariously fun and deeply emotional, others will tear at your heartstrings and include injections of humor, but they will all leave you wishing you could climb between the pages and join them. All Wicked novels may be enjoyed as standalone romances.

Johnaka's Review
“emotional read, 4 stars”

I hated The Wicked Aftermath in the best kind of way. This book broke me. I cried. The Wicked Aftermath is probably the most emotional read I have ever read from Foster. She broke our heroine, Leah, and then put her back together. Tank was the best kind of hero. He was patient and steady.

The only thing I will say is if you're in public, do not read. If you don’t want to cry, don’t read. This is coming from a woman who never cries while she reads.

Release - When You're Mine - Layla Hagen

Take New York by storm and steer clear of serious relationships. That's the plan. That's the goal.  It's easy too, now that my software company is making headlines. Nothing is getting in the way of that--not even my sexy personal trainer.  I don't care how sexy and intriguing she is.

Mel Dawson keeps talking me into doing things, like watching the sunset and slowing down to enjoy life.
When she trains me, and I watch her body, I'm constantly fantasizing about exploring every inch of it all night long, claiming her mouth every time she gives me a sassy reply.

I don't even know who I am when I'm with her. I’m suddenly a completely different man. But, I like this version of myself better. Mel's smart, determined, and keeps me guessing.

She's everything I need and want, but I've been burned before.  I'm used to taking chances in the boardroom, just not in my personal life.  How much am I willing to risk for a chance to make her mine?

Release + Review - Conflict of Interest - Dee Lagasse

There is nothing Audrey Young wants more than to finally step out of her father’s shadow.

Known for being one of Boston’s most sought-after – and less than ethical – corporate attorneys, Benedict Young has always wanted the best for his daughter.

Only Benedict and Audrey’s versions of “the best” have never exactly lined up...

Just weeks after passing the bar, Audrey secures an interview at Ortega & Beckham – her father’s rival firm.

Filled with a mix of nerves and excitement, she heads to a small pub in South Boston the night before... for one drink.

Just. One. Drink.

Instead Audrey finds a bartender with a generous pour and Leo - the hot guy at the end of the bar who convinces her to stay for a cheeseburger and much longer than she planned. All the while, Audrey knows she doesn't have time for a relationship. So, she takes their flirty conversation for exactly what it is: harmless fun.

That is... until the next morning when she walks into her interview and comes face to face with Leo himself.

Fate isn’t something Audrey believes in, but if she did… this certainly would feel a lot like it.

The only problem? Leo is her new boss.

Their chemistry may be off the charts, but they both agree their careers come first.

What Audrey and Leo both seem to forget is that all is fair in love and law.

...and some lines are meant to be crossed.

Louise's Review

Conflict of Interest is a standalone romance story that has all the feels.

Audrey is finding her own path, she has 1 chance to prove herself and that she isn’t anything like her father. Leo has high standards for himself and he is good at what he does; he was named youngest associate at the firm to be named Senior Partner. Leo and Audrey have chemistry can they get their act together ?

I personally enjoyed this story; Lagasse is a new to me author and I can’t wait to read more.

Release + Review - Living at 40 - L.B Dunbar

Is it an accidental pregnancy, if it’s purposefully planned?

Autumn Kulis wants a baby. It’s that simple and that complicated because one thing stands in her way - she doesn’t have a man in her life. And at almost forty, she isn’t getting any younger. On a two-week trip to her brother’s lakeside cottage, a plan forms. Make a list of three men. Sleep with each of them. Allow nature to take its course. Only, a certain someone gets in her way.

Logan Anders goes with the flow of life. Divorced, single dad, he works hard, and occasionally plays harder. When his college roommate invites him to Lakeside Cottage for two weeks, he hadn’t remembered his best friend’s little sister being so hot. Nor was he a fan of her plan to find a baby daddy. He’s determined to make her list then tear it to shreds leaving him the only man horizontal with her.

When we were forty, we had so much life to live, and a simple proposition could be the start of a second chance at really living.

 Louise's Review

Living at 40 is book 1 in the Lakeside Cottage series; an emotional story about getting older and chasing after what you want.

Wanting a baby is something Autumn has wanted for a while she just has to find the right guy to sleep with and make that happen; everyone has an opinion on who that should be. Logan throws his hat in the ring and hopes to be the last man standing.

I personally enjoyed this story, it had me laughing and also crying my eyes out. I cannot wait to read book 2.

Release + Review - Southern Heat - Natasha Madison

After being left for dead, I was given a fresh start by my knight in shining armor.
My protector.
I never had a family before they took me in.
But I don’t know how to stay or trust.
I always had a bag packed and ready just in case I needed to escape again.
Like they say, old habits die hard.
Being in the shadows is lonely, but lonely is safe.

I was the quiet one, the one who stood in the back and watched things unfold. The cowboy who only cared about his horses instead of the glory.
Until I found her fighting for her life. Something inside me shifted, and I couldn’t stop it.
I couldn’t stop protecting her.
I fell in love with her with one look because she was my soul mate.
Even though I knew I couldn't make her stay.

 Johnaka's Review
“Be still my beating heart! 5 stars”

Okay, I had really no idea what to expect before deep diving into Southern Heat, and well the title is fitting. Madison brought the freaking heat! I loved Quinn. He is the best kind of hero. He’s alpha, but knows when to be soft. He has a protective streak a mile wide, he’s patient and kind. Quinn was quite literally everything that Willow needed.

To say Willow has been hurt, abused, and used would be an understatement. She’s never known what a good person looks like until now. She doesn’t know how to handle Quinn. But most of all, she doesn’t think he deserves a man like him. Will Quinn’s patience run out before it’s too late? Only one way to find out.

Willow works through a lot of physical and mental trauma so if that’s not your jam then don’t pick up Southern Heat.

Louise's Review

Southern Heat is book 6 in the Southern series; a long standing series that has now jumped into the 2nd generation.

Quinn is just like is Dad, he is a protector but in the different sense; he has amazing morals and proves throughout this story that he is his fathers son with Alpha ways. Willow is broken women who has been beaten down and needs to find her own path; with Quinn and his family by her side she has a chance.

I personally enjoyed this story, Madison continues to write these stories that pull you in and want more. Bring on Southern Secrets!

Release + Review - The Rival - Kendall Ryan

Dump my cheating ex? Check.

Land an amazing job with Boston’s professional hockey franchise? Check.

Fall stupidly in love with hockey’s favorite bad boy? Ugh.

After wasting years of my life with the wrong person, I told myself all I wanted was a little no-strings fun. Enter Alex Braun—a wealthy, handsome, notorious playboy who’s equal parts charming and dangerous as hell to my wounded heart.

After enduring a very public breakup of his own, the sexy player doesn’t want to be anyone’s forever. Too bad he barreled his way into my heart, instead of just my bed.

But this professional athlete knows a thing or two about competing, and he won’t let go so easily.

Louise's Review

The Rival is book 2 in the Looking to Score series, a Hockey romance that gives you a different side of them from on the ice.

Alex has a bad reputation and any female that wants a forever needs to steer clear of him; He has grown tired of his partying ways and come to realisation that he wants a good women by his side who supports his and wants the real Alex, not the famous Hockey player but when he figures all this out is it too late?

Alex and Aspen have amazing of the charts chemistry and a slow burn romance that had me finishing the book in 1 day!

I look forward to reading The Rookie, I just know we are in for another fantastic read.

Release + Review - Fool For You - Kelly Elliott

It was only supposed to be for a few months, so where was the harm in going along with it? That is, until the fake engagement Landon and I came up with after a misunderstanding threw us both into the spotlight, and threatened to destroy the lives we had both worked so hard for.

Somewhere along the way, though, we realized everything had changed. So, we made a vow to one another when we crossed the line from being best friends to lovers, that neither one of us would get hurt.

But that's the thing about promises made, they are often broken, and the fallout can be catastrophic.

So, when the real world comes crashing down into the fake world we'd created, neither of us knew who would break our vow first, and more importantly, which one of us would survive the betrayal.

Johnaka's Review
“Laugh out loud, 5 stars”

Holy guacamole, I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard while reading a Kelly Elliott story before. Landon and Emmerson had me rolling. I love a good friends to lovers romance and Fool for You is great.

Landon has always had a thing for Emmerson but has never made a move because he doesn’t want to ruin a lifelong friendship. He will take what he can get when it comes to her. He just wants her happy. Emmerson has started to see Landon in a different way lately and its… weird? But it’s not. Is it because everyone around her is engaged? Who knows? But when one slip up leads to another and then another next thing she knows is she’s fake engaged to Landon.

When these two decide to date while being fake engaged the tides really turn. Will they end up together for real or will they ruin a several decades long friendship? Read to find out.
