My Review:
Wow! I absolutely devoured this book in no time at all. What a perfect and beautiful ending to such a dreamy story.
Christmas wedding takes us to a year after Lil and Damon first got together. They met the Christmas before when Damon moved to Ashford to open his shop, which sold a lot of similar items to Lil's Gingerbread Cafe across the road. After Lil initially decided to start a war on Damon, she found herself unable to keep it up when his charm took over. That was a year ago, and after some ups and downs they are now awaiting their very own fairytale Christmas wedding.
This last chapter in their beautiful story, starts 10 days before their wedding and follows all the excitement leading up to it.
From a wedding cake fiasco to a nearly chopped wedding dress. Anything that could potentially go wrong, seems to want to have a try. Yet it doesn't seem to stop Lil and Damon from getting to the most exciting, and dream like day they have both been waiting for.
In this part, we get to meet both sets of parents. From Lil's bustling, bundle of energy, mom, and her jolly Dad who can't keep away from all the delectable treats the cafe offers. To Damon's parents, George who seems to nod off at every point and the regal Olivia, who seems to be the only one in Ashford, not as enthusiastic about the wedding.
The bubbly, fun and hilarious CeeCee is back again as Lil's right hand woman, yet this time Cee has her own sad news to deal with, making for some ultra sad moments, among all the sweet ones.
Again, like all the books in this series, my senses were on unbelievable overload. I really didn't think my growling tummy could take any more images of gorgeous food. I was ready to try nibbling on my iPad case, it was getting that extreme. From delicious and totally unique wedding cakes, to the little sweet treats that seem to flow from every available surface in the cafe. I'm not sure how on earth author Rebecca Raisin seems to do it, making the food that she is writing about, so delicious and desirable. Just through words! In every, single, book. She really should be writing menus as well. ;)
I'm also feeling like I want it to be Christmas already, yes, I'm actually saying that in October. That's just how magical the words are in this book. From all the picturesque fluffy snow and traditional decorations all over the cafe, to the people of Ashford getting together, to meet up at their church to sing carols. It's all so inviting and I wish I lived in Ashford! :)
The wedding itself is absolutely dreamy. The detail in the wedding dress, and everything that goes in to what makes it so beautiful is perfection. Lil and Damon are such a sweet couple and their day, even after the ups and downs is incredible. Like every little girls dream.
Now this story wouldn't be complete, with out some part of it wanting to make you cry. Well, I pretty much sniffed and welled up through all of the 2nd half of the book. By the end the tears were free fall. I never normally cry at such sweet books, I actually try not to cry at books full stop. But, I just couldn't stop, at all!! It was ridiculous just how much crying was going on. I'm not going to throw spoilers in to this book, but there is one big scene, everyone will know which it is. Where, I couldn't actually read the words. It was just that sad, but in a really good way!!
So after all the tears and sighing, plus the extremely hungry tummy. I actually feel really sad to leave Ashford and all the colourful and amazing characters that live there. I truly loved this series and this final book was perfection.

An overwhelmingly big 5 stars, covered in all manner of icky and yummy ingredients!!

How do you trust someone who is everything you’re trying to avoid?
Harper Lindell is having a bad day. You know, if a bad day consists of getting fired from your cushy job and then catching your boyfriend red handed playing hide the salami.

Sick of meeting the same guys over and over, Harper decides to try her luck at Internet dating. How bad could it be? Right?

Tate Washington wasn’t looking to meet anyone. Still dealing with the consequences of his one serious relationship, all he’s interested in is revamping his family’s behind-the-times café.

He didn’t plan on seeing the beautiful receptionist from Argo again, walking into his life to use his café as a dating hub, and using him as a BFF.

Can Harper really trust Tate, who is everything she thinks she needs to steer clear of?

Can Tate wait while Harper works through her insecurities and fears?

Excerpt
“Andrew?” I question as I reach the table.

“Yes. Harper, hello.” He shakes my hand and the first thing I notice are his warm eyes. They are gentle and sincere and I feel instantly comfortable with him. “Take a seat, please.”

He gestures to my seat before pulling it out for me to sit in. I smile up at him in thanks for the chivalrous action as I slide into the chair.

During our emails back and forth this week, Andrew and I had figured out that we are from similar small towns not far from each other. We laugh about all the misguided town folk and the classic ‘types’ every town has. The town clown who has thought of every invention under the sun, the do-gooder mayor, the old lady gossip group, and the crazy minister and his family. Of course I didn’t laugh at that last one, as true as it is, being the daughter of a minister and all.

“So what do your parents do?” Andrew asks.

“Umm.” I stall looking for a distraction, not wanting to make to him feel bad.

“What can I get you guys?” Tate offers and I’m grateful for the interruption.

“Oh gosh I haven’t even looked yet,” Andrew says as he picks up the menu from the table.

“Just the usual for me please.” As my eyes reach Tate’s his are wide with horror. I sit upright at the urgency in his expression wondering what the hell is going on.

He nods his head in Andrew’s direction and I glance over. Andrew is studying the menu oblivious to mine and Tate’s silent conversation.

I look back at Tate giving him a ‘what’ look as he scratches his head then stiffly nods back in Andrew’s direction.

I sigh frustrated and look back at Andrew. He looks up from his menu and smiles at me before turning to Tate and placing his order.

I still don’t see a problem and look back to Tate with a ‘just fucking tell me’ look.

He begins running his hand through his hair as he harshly nods in Andrew’s direction again. I don’t even bother looking at Andrew again, knowing I’m not going to see anything different than before.

With wide eyes and a clenched jaw, I get out through gritted teeth, “I think that’s all.”

Tate sighs heavily, clearly frustrated and storms away from the table.

I shake my head and when I turn back to Andrew he is staring at me in confusion. “Sorry,” I giggle embarrassed he witnessed that final interaction between Tate and me.

“No worries.” He is sweet but his voice is wary. Tate and I probably looked like two mute idiots. How humiliating.

Andrew seamlessly continues our conversation. I use this opportunity to study him and search for the meaning of Tate’s irrational display.

I didn’t really focus on Andrew’s features before. He’s not ugly, but he’s definitely not in the same calibre as Tate or Glenn.

Now that I’m looking closer at him, there is something off about his looks. I can’t put my finger on it but something doesn’t fit. It has to be something small like his eyes aren’t in line or his facial features are too far apart, maybe bad teeth or ears that are too big or small, but I can’t see any of that. All his features seem symmetrical and in proper proportion to his face, but something is definitely not right.

Out of the corner of my eye I see Tate flailing his arms about. I shoot a glance his way trying not to be noticeable only to see he is frantically running his hand through his hair before tugging on the ends. No, tugging is too tame, he is pulling hard on his hair.

I glance around the café and no one has seemed to notice Tate’s complete and mental breakdown. He’s lost it. Maybe it’s all the coffee fumes, they are really strong in here.

When I look back towards Tate he is on his way over to the table carrying our hot drinks. I roll my eyes at his determined stare and wonder what antics he has planned for us this time.

Tate doesn’t falter as he strides towards the table and proceeds to drop a hot cup of coffee all over the table and into Andrew’s lap. I gasp in shock at what is unfolding in front of me. Andrew jumps from his seat, squealing like a small girl. I watch horrified as his hair falls off his head and lands on the table in front of me.

My mouth drops open as I just stare at Andrew’s toupee lying in spilt coffee. Glancing up at Andrew I see the heat rising on his face and shiny bald head. I smile awkwardly at him as I pick up his hairpiece and hold it out to him as if it’s a pair of dirty underwear and I can’t stand to touch it.

He quickly swipes it from my hand and places it on his head, but not before I notice his whole head, bright red in mortification. It’s like a beacon calling in planes for landing. Andrew stares at me, his hairpiece on backwards and coffee leaking from it, dripping all down his face.

“I’m so sorry Andrew,” I whisper, as I place both my hands over my mouth. Shit, I can feel the laughter rising.

“No, I’m sorry Harper.” My gut churns on his behalf at the humiliation he must be feeling. The silence of the café surrounds us, lucky it’s not overly busy at this time of night. Andrew glares at Tate who smiles and raises his hands innocently, before Andrew storms out of the café not breathing another word, just leaving a trail of coffee in his wake.

“You’re welcome,” Tate says casually as he pulls a clean chair up to the table, before relaxing back into it and crossing his ankles in front of him.

Zane Excerpt

Zane’s here.

He’s standing with his back to the wall, arms folded over his broad chest, his slanted eyes on me, hot and intense. His Mohawk is tall as ever, and the silver studs in his ears and the hoops in his brow glint. I scan him from his exotic face to the faded black T-shirt stretched over his pecs, down to his ripped jeans, and I struggle for breath.

Gah. He’s too handsome to be real. Too handsome to be interested in me. And yet here he is, and I can’t miss the bulge on the front of his jeans. He’s obviously hard, and the realization makes me feel hot. The tips of my breasts tighten painfully.

What is it about this boy that makes me lose my train of thought? Deciding I want to break through his defenses is one thing—but what he does to my body even with one look should be illegal.

“You came,” I blurt, and instantly wish I had swallowed my tongue instead.

He cocks his head to the side, eyes heavy-lidded. “Almost,” he whispers, and oh God, the boy is sexy as hell. “You have an awesome voice. Never heard anything like it.”

My face flames. “Thanks.”

I step off the stage, and he grabs my hand, steadying me. His fingers are callused and warm, his grip like steel.

“Hey, Koko, you okay?” Luke calls out.

“Fine. Just need a moment backstage. Yeah?”

“Koko?” Zane arches a dark brow at me.

“Yeah, the guys call me that.”

“I prefer Dakota.”

God, me, too, especially when Zane is speaking it in his low, warm voice.

Besides… ‘Koko’ brings back too many bad memories. I’m not that girl anymore, the girl who trusted Collin with her life and almost died for it.

I head toward the small backstage room, and he doesn’t release my hand. He follows me inside and closes the door, then turns the lock.

Before I ask what he’s doing, he slams me back against the wall, his muscled body pinning me, so that I feel every defined ridge and plane of his chest. He’s breathing hard.

Speaking of hard… The rod of his erection is trapped sideways inside his jeans, and its heat seeps through the fabric, branding my flesh.

“What are you doing to me?” he breathes, his strong hand trailing down my neck and slipping the strap of my blouse off my shoulder. “What the hell are you doing to me?”

I should stop him, but his fingertips send electric shocks down my spine. He lowers his face toward me, and my lips part in anticipation. He’s going to kiss me, I think, as his breath brushes the corner of my mouth—but he doesn’t. He trails his mouth over my cheek, along my jaw, under my ear. The touch of his lips—hot and soft—tortures me, arousing me more and more, as he bares my shoulder, and draws patterns on my skin.

I struggle to swallow a moan, my nipples pressed against his chest, tiny pinpricks of pain and pleasure. His hand tangles in my hair, tipping my head back for better access, and his mouth brands my neck, sending electric discharges right into my core. Fire coils low inside of me.

Oh God, I think I’m about to come just from his lips on my neck and his fingertips on my shoulder. I have to do something to stop him. Stop myself.

I place my hands on his chest. “Ink me, Zane,” I whisper.

His mouth leaves my neck, and when he looks down at me, his eyes are so dark with need they seem black. His breathing is ragged. “Don’t.”

“I want it.” It’s more than a game now, more than familiar teasing. I need his touch so much it’s scary as hell. I’m throbbing everywhere, and I feel wet between my legs. This has never happened to me before. It’s as if the ground has been yanked from under my feet. It’s like freefall, and I hate falling.

“Tell me what you want.” He braces an arm on the wall by my head and licks his lips. He doesn’t kiss me. Why won’t he kiss me?

“You know what I want,” I say.

He leans closer again, his male musk scent surrounding me, and how can I think straight when my hands are on his rippling abs, his mouth is inches from mine, and his hardness keeps pressing into my belly?

Excerpt

“I Can Show You Worlds of Pleasure”

An excerpt from NIGHTS WITH HIM by Lauren Blakely

The balcony circled the peak of the Met Life Tower with a spire above them, a clock right below them. A high fence surrounded the perimeter, and the view of Manhattan was endless, stretching to the rivers and the towns that lay far beyond the city that never slept.
Michelle wrapped her hands around the railing at the edge of the balcony, drinking in the view of Manhattan. The headlights from the distant streets below streaked across the dark night; the sounds of horns and music and madness morphed into a quiet radio station din. The dirt and grime was gone, and New York was aerial and beautiful—a darkly gorgeous nocturnal creature, lit up against the night sky.
Jack dropped his hands to her waist, his thumbs rubbing circles against the fabric of her dress at her hips. She leaned her head back against him, stretching her neck. But then he was gone—he was on his knees behind her, kissing the back of her bare legs, starting at her calves.
“Don’t close your eyes. Watch the city as I touch you.”
No wonder he did what he did. He was a man in tune with pleasure. A man thoroughly connected to his senses, which was all the more unusual, given his background as a numbers and logic guy. But he also had some intuitive sense of the physical.
Or simply the physical of her. His tongue flicked against the back of her knee, and she felt her legs wobble. He steadied her, his strong hands tight on her thighs as he kissed his way up her legs, pressing his lips against the back of her thighs now. First one leg. Then the other. Higher and higher still, the fabric of her skirt rose in his hands as he exposed her flesh for him. Soon he’d pushed her skirt above her butt, and his sinful mouth was leaving a hot, wet trail of kisses against the crease where her ass met her legs.
“Light blue,” he murmured as he slid his finger under the edge of her lacy panties. “Gorgeous, sexy, perfect sky blue.”
      “Yes. You like?”
“So much I want to keep them,” he said as he returned his mouth to her skin.
Pleasure pulsed through her veins. She gripped the railing tighter as the sensations spread, starting deep in her belly, radiating to her fingertips, her toes, the ends of her hair, as he brushed those soft lips against her body. He kissed her with a kind of reverence, with a deep appreciation for her body. He kissed her as if she were the most sensual person he’d ever touched. As if she were made for passion, for pleasure, for this kind of bold desire that ran rampant through her cells.
Because everything he’d done so far had been a slice of heaven. A heaven for lovers of the flesh.
He ran his nose across her upper thigh, then pressed a kiss between her legs, his lips grazing the soaked panel of her panties. Useless thing. A completely useless piece of fabric, since the way he’d touched her had turned them hot and damp.
“Take them off,” he said roughly.
She obliged, sliding her panties down her legs, then lifting them over her ankles as she stepped out of them.
      “Give them to me.”
She handed them to him, and he stuffed them into his pocket.
He stood and gently placed his hand on her chin, turning her gaze back to the sky. “Watch the city,” he told her, as he pressed his chest against her back, his long, tall body aligned with hers.
Anticipation built between them, the tantalizing wonder of what would come next. Only he knew. She was placing her pleasure in his hands, and that’s exactly where she wanted it to be.
A soft hum whirred through the air. At first, she wasn’t sure what it was. Then she recognized the noise. The way it signaled a response in her body. How the sound tapped into her deepest core, a reminder of something she loved.
      Assistance.
One hand gripped her hip, and the other slid down her belly, dipping between her legs as he tugged her closer. Her breath fled her chest. The thrill of not knowing ignited her more, and she felt a rush of heat between her legs. She wanted him to feel it too. To know what he was doing to her. She was After Hours Michelle with him, so she let go of her other self, allowing herself to fully be the sexy, alluring woman who appeared when Jack Sullivan was inches away. “Touch me,” she said.
She felt it. The first press against her throbbing clit. The slide through her wetness. The pressure from something that wasn’t his finger. Something that had been made.
“What is it?” she asked in between staccato breaths.
“It’s The Lola,” he said in a hot, husky voice, whispering in her ear as he rubbed a small toy against her. She looked down—he held a sleek circular device between two fingers, one finger through a silver hole in the middle. The toy was like a large ring, made of the same soft material the world’s best pleasure toys came in. Only this one didn’t just stimulate her with vibrations. Somehow, the toy felt like a tongue touching her. Like fast, intense flicks from the most wonderful, amazing, fantastic tongue she’d ever felt. Like Jack today. Times ten.
      It was that good.
“I don’t have this one,” she said, in between gasps and moans.
“I know. It’s new. They say it feels fantastic against the skin,” he said, rubbing the vibrator against her. “Tell me if it does.”
      She cried out. “Oh, yes.”
She felt as if her body belonged to this toy, to the intensity of the pleasure strumming through her blood and bones. It owned her.
“Does it make you want more of me?”
      “So much more,” she moaned.
“This part,” he said, slowing only to press the soft middle section to her clit, the beads beneath the surface rotating against her, simulating the intoxicating sensations of a tongue flicking against her. “Does that feel like the way I licked your pussy earlier today?” he asked in a whisper, his breath hot against her skin.
      “Yes. Oh, God. Yes.”
“I can make this feel like a soft swirl, or like I’m fucking you with my tongue,” he said, and began cycling through the levels of vibration. Her vision blurred from the sweet intensity. She wasn’t sure how she was still standing. “I can show you worlds of pleasure.”
“I want it,” she said, now begging because this was a new land of desire he’d taken her to, and she didn’t ever want to leave.
Working the toy expertly between her legs, he yanked her body closer, his erection hitting her backside. His voice was low and dirty as he growled in her ear. “This is what I can do to you for thirty nights.”
“I want it all. I want you,” she said in between pants and moans, her body arching into the toy.
“This is how you’ll be mine,” he said, gliding the toy across her clit that was so swollen she ached with the need to come. She felt desperate in every pore of her body. The intense need to climax was bearing down on her. Her world narrowed to this hot neon need as pleasure took over, spinning wildly out of control, blissfully into chaos as she leaned back into his chest, his arms holding her in place, his finger working her over and over with his toy as she shattered into endless erotic bliss, crying out his name above Manhattan.
Minutes later she turned around, looping her arms around his neck. “You win. That was the best orgasm of my life. I’m yours for thirty nights.”
