Review - Finding Judgement (Centre Games #2) - Natalie Gayle

I love the originality of this series. Finding Trust wasn't a one hit wonder. Finding Judgement has proved that this series is going to be amazing.

When I read the first book, with Brayden and Rihanna. I was blown away by how original and entertaining the story was. The characters were addictive and the action was totally non stop.

Again, that same clever background is present in Finding Judgement. It's the loveable rogue, Rory this time. With his constant banter and adorable personality, plus the gorgeous surfer boy look, he is addictive. The lady that has caught his eye, is TJ. A feisty and stunning little thing, that Rory decides the name Pixie suits her perfectly.

After a bad accident took her father and eldest brother, Tj is left to take the reigns of the family haulage business. Yet things are looking bad for the company and TJ is determined to hold on to it, as tight as she can. When someone has it in for TJ and the business, Rory, luckily is there to help out.

What starts as Rory chasing TJ, when she is in no place to date. Rory is determined to make her see sense, and see just how great they could be, together. I love the banter from Rory and the funny lines, he perfectly delivers. TJ is headstrong but selfless. Yet she knows Rory is different and she can't deny the huge attraction she feels towards Rory.

Like I said, this story easily lives up to the first in this series. It's just as entertaining, the suspense and shock factor is excellent again. Plus the characters keep getting better.

Review - Blue Dahlia (Gilded Flowers #4) - Vivian Winslow

I have absolutely loved the Gilded Flowers series so far. Lily's story was totally addictive and I was hooked to each novella.

It's now Lily's twin sister Dahlia's story. Dahlia is the twin that seems to have the bad reputation. The girls come from a well known and respected society family, and have grown up to know all about appearances and doing as they are told. They are incredibly wealthy and have pretty much anything they want. Which isn't always the case, it wasn't with Lily, and it certainly isn't with Dahlia.

When reading lily's stories, Dahlia just seemed like the naughty party girl, who liked to have a lot of fun. We now learn that Dahlia was hiding a big secret and heartache.
The big secret is revealed when Dahlia has to revisit her past, there are things she needs to do and put to rest before she can move on with her life.

It's here we see just who Dahlia is, or used to be, 7 years ago. It's actually quite a sad story, it showed what Dahlia had been through, and why she acted the way she did afterwards. I felt really torn for her and it was a really emotional read.

As with Lily's trilogy before, there is a huge amount of intense scenes. Some incredibly hot scenes too. The fact that Dahlia's heart is hurting so bad in this story, and how conflicted she is, just makes some of the scenes really potent and powerful.

We meet another character in this story. Shane. Addictive, gorgeous and unbelievably sweet on top of all that. Makes choices very hard!

As with the other GF books, it ended in a gripping way, ready for the next novella in the series. Which I can't wait for!!
Highly recommended! 5 Stars.

Review - Unbearable - Alaska Angelini

It is incredibly satisfying to read a book that is totally new and different to me. The synopsis sounded intriguing and after reading quite a few books in this genre lately, it looked to be a bit different. Which made it even more interesting.

Diane is a woman in pain. She has lost everything in her life that means anything to her, and she doesn't feel she has anything left worth living for. After unsuccessful attempts at suicide, Diane is told about 'Master', a man who will help those seeking death. Before Diane even has the chance to think about it, she is taken to him.

A dark and sprawling mansion, in the middle of nowhere, is looming in front of Diane. She is taken in and has no idea that she can not leave.
It's here that Diane meets the man known as 'Master'. He is gorgeous and powerful and not at all what Diane was expecting.

It's here that Master has a plan, a routine. He can make those seeking death, regain the will to live again. To want a life worth living. Yet, it's how he goes about bringing back that will, that is quite shocking and unusual. He will become their Master, and they will do exactly as they are told. He will break them down, to build them back up again, reborn and compliant. Through their pain, they learn not to desire death anymore, they want to live and not be afraid.

It's all a little confusing in a way, not exactly what you would think would work. Yet Master has a success rate and nobody under his care and attention, ends up taking their own life.
Like I said, the story was unique and totally different from anything I had read before. Making it a really good read. It was very dark and had a lot of very sensitive subject matter.

The main characters, Diane and Master were both characters that had been through some extremely traumatic ordeals in their lives. This unconventional life style and tactic ends up being what essentially saves the both of them. Diane is surprisingly a very strong character. She has been through the very worse that could happen to her, and she still ends up fighting for her life. It just takes her a while to get there.

There is also some very hot and shocking scenes in this book, for those who love their books dark and risky. This book likes to dance around the hard limit lines, but it does it beautifully. Just like the writing style. This book was incredibly well written and painted a dark and shocking picture that could also be seen as beautiful and a tale of love at it's hardest.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and as a new reader of author Alaska Angelini, I am pleased to see she has a huge amount of books for me to go explore.
This book will shock and stay in your mind for a long time after reading, but it was unique and enthralling, and showed a very dark version of a love story.

Review - Broken Course (Wrecked and Ruined #3) - Aly Martinez

Wow, Again I'm blown away by another Aly Martinez book. I kinda did this series backwards. I read Among the Echoes first, and didn't get the little shocker at the end, when Leo bumped in to Sarah. So I had to immediately start the Wrecked and Ruined series, and have loved it.
Broken Course is the third book in this series, that tells the story of how a car crash had messed up a lot of lives. Sarah was in that fatal car crash and the only one left to tell the tale. Although that would be hard as she lost her memories of that night, and has no idea what happened. The version she has been told, is what she has to believe, and live with.
After Sarah lost her best friend Manda in the car crash, she has felt lost and guilty ever since. She pushed away everyone who cared for or loved her, and was pretty much left with nobody by the end.
By Broken Course, we have seen how some of the others involved in the crash, have managed to reclaim their lives back and find happiness. Except for Sarah. Until she meets Leo.
Leo James, has also had a really rough time too. His story was in Among the Echoes, where we learn quite a lot about him. Not everything though.
I absolutely loved this story, and it was by far my favourite of the three. Both Leo and Sarah were 2 of my favourite characters across the books, and I couldn't wait to find out more from their POV's. Both Sarah and Leo, are in a lot of pain. They are hurting from their past actions, and sometimes find it hard to just live their lives normally. Right from the start the writing was captivating, there wasn't a single part of this book that didn't have me hooked. The story was gripping, the humour between Sarah and Leo was hysterical, and the hot scenes, were utterly smoking. Leo was of course, gorgeous and addictive. I thought Caleb was yum, but I think Leo topped him.
The twists and turns in this book, amazed me again. There was plenty of them in the other books in the series, but they were complete shockers in this one. Had me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole story.
I didn't want this story to end, and by the end I was pretty much all out of tears. This story is heartwarming and painful but lots of feel goods.
A well deserved 5 stars.

Review - One Night Denied (One Night #2) - Jodi Ellen Malpas (Short & Sweet Review)

Fabulous as always. Jodi Ellen Malpas never fails to wow with her writing and stories. Again, Denied was captivating and the story continues to be totally addictive.
It also ends on a very exciting ending, where I'm sat dying to get my hands on the final story in the series, to find out what is happening. I love these kind of endings, and they keep me hooked until the next one.
Liv and Miller are an intense and hot couple, the steamy scenes are absolutely smoking hot as always, and their relationship gets more and more addictive with each chapter.
Love all the suspense and mystery that is thrown in along side all the heat and passion.
Can't wait for book 3. A huge 5 stars as always.

Review - Irrevocable - Skye Callahan

WOW! This was an awesome dark read. I love dark, gritty and sexy stories, but finding new and unique ones can be tricky. This was spot on though.

Irrevocable starts straight in the action, a girl is being attacked by a group of men. She has no idea where she is, or how she got there. She just knows it's going to get far worse. That is until someone comes in and stops it. A dark and dangerous type. Kirk. We go on to learn the girl is Silver, (she chooses her new name) and she has now lost her old life. This is her new life, a slave in a huge hotel style building, called the Retreat. She has no idea how bad things will get, and they get pretty bad. Kirk may have saved her from the thugs and animals that dragged her off the streets and pulled her into the lower levels of the Retreat, but that doesn't mean she was saved entirely. She can never go home, and is to be Kirks slave now. Through various methods of training and punishment, Silver learns how to keep her head down from time to time, but she draws the wrong sort of attention and is still desired by the man who dragged her in to the Retreat in the first place, and he's not happy at her being taken away before he had his fun.

Although there is some really nasty and horrid scenes, that are pretty shocking, there is also some very hot and naughty scenes that make Silver's situation a lot better. Kirk and Silver find themselves in an odd kind of relationship and find out a lot about each other, that makes things a lot easier. But, there is a lot more trouble and danger to come for Silver, and it makes survival quite hard work for her.
The writing was addictive. I couldn't put this book down. Even when you know you shouldn't enjoy it, you do, it's obvious the writing is pretty awesome to make you captivated by the ugly stuff too.

I loved how feisty and strong willed Silver was, even though she shouldn't be. She should be an empty shell after everything that has happened to her, yet she is such a fighter and I loved her will and attitude. She was a perfect leading lady. Kirk was the perfect torn and tortured bad boy. Having to do the bad stuff, even though he doesn't want to. Yet seeing he has a secret side to him, is exciting and redeems him nicely.

A fantastic read, I absolutely loved it, and was blown away by the originality and excitement running through the story, with a perfect writing style to hook you in and keep you addicted.
5 stars!

Review - Archer's Voice (A Sign of Love Novel) - Mia Sheridan

Love, Love, Loved this book. I had been meaning to read this for absolutely ages, after all the endless fantastic reviews.
I finally got time to read a book of my choice and this was top of my list. I was not disappointed, everybody had it spot on.
This is a unique, and beautiful love story that you just can't help but sit and sigh at.
I went from tears, to sighing constantly.
Archer is such a unique and beautiful person, there needs to be more men like him around.
Bree and Archer have both gone through some huge and traumatic events throughout time, and have somehow like fate has intervened, they find each other.
Bree moves to a new town, when she needs a fresh start. She comes across a quiet a beautiful place called Pelion, and starts to make a new life for herself. It's there that she happens across Archer, the silent and brooding man, that nobody talks to or seems to see, yet the locals are quick to tell his story behind his back.
Bree ignores gossips and tries to strike up a friendship with recluse Archer. What comes from this is a friendship, quite unconventional but sweet and tender. I loved every stage of their story and didn't want the story to end.
There is some very emotional scenes throughout this book and I found myself with some severe eye leakage quite often. Yet all that was what made this book so perfect. The downs were fully made up for with the overwhelming ups.
The characters and story were absolutely perfect, making this one of those books that will stay with you for a very long time. Of course what also makes this such an amazing book, is the fact that Mia Sheridan writes flawlessly. After reading Becoming Calder and Finding Eden first, I was already a huge fan, but it just showed that this is what she does, extremely well. Another story that captivated and wowed me. Hugely and highly recommended.

Review - Affliction (Knights Rebels #2) - River Savage

Fabulous and flawless! This series and author just keep on getting better and hotter!!
I absolutely loved Incandescent, my first MC book, and I was wowed by it. Not only was the story amazing, but the captivating writing of River Savage, had me gripped throughout every page. So I was more than excited to see what would come from this author in her second book, Affliction and especially the fact that it was inked up, brooding and troubled hottie Sy this time. I couldn't wait.

The main characters continued in to this book, but fell to the back a little while Sy and Holly had their turn. So we didn't totally lose Nix and Kadence from Incandescent, we got to see what they were up to as well. I loved Sy huge amounts just from the background role he had in Incandescent, and Holly was an awesome character who went through such a massive change in the first book, that I was dying to see what had been happening. Plus we still had all the other bad biker boys running around the background, and they all just get better and better the more we learn about them all.

Now, I would now normally summarise Affliction and give a breakdown of what happens etc, but there is no way I can do it this time, as anything I could say would be a huge potential spoiler.
Affliction, right from the first page, is a story that is fit to burst with action and drama, twists and turns, crazy hot sex and brooding alpha hotties. Oh and did I mention I spent 98% of the book crying? Well yep, huge ugly tears were free flowing throughout this book, I would go from one blubbing session straight in to the next. There is so much going on in this story, and not all of it is hearts and flowers, but what you do get is totally addictive characters, an amazing storyline that will have you sat on the edge of your sea throughout, and absolutely perfect writing. Not to mention the chunks of panty wetting hilarious one liners and humor running through this book. A lot of moments where I would be laughing like a freak as anyone around me looked on in bewilderment.

I did wonder whether Affliction would keep the intense flow of Incandescent, whether it would live up to the amazing reputation of it's predecessor, or whether it would take a drop once the first initial characters had, had their stories told. But, oh my god Affliction has gone above and beyond Incandescent. Not only has it proved what an incredible and versatile author River Savage is, but it has shown she can push out captivating stories that just keep getting so much better. I'm unbelievably excited for the next book in the series, if it's anything like the last two, it's going to blow me away, again!
The ending was pure perfection, and once I'd dried my endless tears, I was smiling huge amounts. I would recommend this to anybody and everybody as it has so much going on, nobody could be disappointed. Definitely a time where more than 5 stars are needed!

Review - Red Dahlia (Gilded Flowers #6) - Vivian Winslow

Oh Wow!!! This last installment in the Gilded Flowers 2nd series was incredible.
Every step in the 3 part series, was captivating, addictive and I couldn't stop reading. Dahlia's story was even more intense than Lily, her twin sister.
I can't even begin to summarise this final story as every word would be a potential spoiler, it's just so jam packed with action and twists and turns. The story continues but changes so much, you have to hold on tight, to keep on board. Dahlia's life is intense, and is riddled with pain and pleasure in so many forms. Her love life is tricky and difficult, yet her sex life is drool worthy and sets the pages on fire. The amount of gorgeous men that end up in her life is quite staggering, and leaves for a lot of big sighs.
I loved Dahlia right from the start, she is feisty and knows exactly what she wants. She goes through some huge changes but still manages to be such a strong character and I love her for it.
She has to make some big decisions and she does good. I felt it all ended perfectly and after endless tears, it was a fantastic happy ending! I just hope Vi get's a story next! :)
5 huge stars.

Review - Black Dahlia (Gilded Flowers #5) - Vivian Winslow

This was totally captivating. I absolutely love all the books in this series. The first 3 about Lily, blew me away and I couldn't wait for twin sister Dahlia's turn. Then Blue Dahlia was incredible, and I loved Dahlia's story even more than Lily's.

So I hate spoilers, and these stories are full of action and twists and turns, but I don't want to spoil any of them for new readers, so I'm not going to summarise too much on this second installment in Dahlia's story.

Blue Dahlia had Dahlia finding herself satisfied, happy and content at the end, but this next part has everything blown apart. Dahlia has some really shocking and sad events to deal with, and I found myself welling up constantly. Yet what I have always loved about Dahlia, is her strength. Both of the twins can be pretty feisty and determined, strong willed. Yet Dahlia took her strength to epic proportions and I loved her so much for her fighting spirit by the end of this story.

I have to say, be prepared for all the shockers that are thrown in, I was practically reading it all with my mouth gaping open like a fish. Just when you think you know where it's going, up comes another twist that changes everything. But I loved that about these stories. The writing style just captivates, there is never a dull moment, and considering it's a novella, it is jam packed with intense scenes. Again, as with the other stories in this series, the sex scenes are smoking hot. Very intense and steamy. All the gorgeous characters certainly help!
So, another perfect continuation in this enthralling series. Can't wait for the next one.
5 stars!

Bend Don't Break - Skye Callahan - Release Day Blitz!!

release day

Bend, Don't Break

release tease

I thought I was done.
my End
I couldn’t take my eyes off her as the bullet tore through me, leaving me with nothing but the hope that I had done enough to save her. The darkness tried to engulf me—to brand me as its own and drag me to my fate.
my Darkness
Waking to see her tear-stained face above me was enough to make my heart stutter. I was alive and free from that place—but not from the toll it had taken on my mind and body.
my Strength
My story should have ended, but one woman kept standing in the way of that. The only way I could have her was to find a way to put the darkness to rest.

Excerpt:

“Did you force her to have sex with you?”

My hands clenched at my sides twisting and curling the thin hospital sheets. “Not then.”

I tried to think about anything else, but my mind betrayed me and jumped straight to that night. My heart went into overdrive, fueling the anger that already tainted my blood and sending it to the deepest part of my brain.

That first day. It seemed like it had happened years ago, only because so much had changed since the day I’d first seen her in the basement of the Retreat.

“When? Another day—or night,” Dr. Combs continued prying.

“Second night—only because it would’ve been Ross if not me.”

“How did she react to that?”

I blew out a puff of air. “I got her off if that’s what you’d like to know.”

Dr. Combs scowled.

“See there,” I said, laying my arm over my eyes. “You don’t really want to hear about it any more than I want to talk about it.”

“Be crude all you want. I’m not judging—”

I slammed my hand down on the bed to stop her lie. “Don’t fucking give me that. I was there. There is no fucking way in hell anyone hears about the things I did without some kind of opinion. I’m the bastard, the abuser, rapist, villain, liar, thief—and I get away with it all as far as the law and any official judgment are concerned. I’d be utterly convinced that I’m guaranteed a spot in the deepest pit of Hell if I wasn’t holding on to the slim hope that the time I’ve already spent there was enough to burn away my sins—at the very least it might have burned away my soul, in which case it won’t matter much once I die because there won’t even be anything left.”

She smiled—of all the fucking reactions in the world, she smiled at that?

“Finally getting an honest reaction. I do believe that’s the most you’ve said all week.”

I scowled, the distasteful sting of bile assaulted my mouth. “You’re a gem, you know that?”

“Back to the topic. Tell me what happened.”

“When?” I was done fighting, only because the smile told me that she was quite possibly more sadistic than me.

“Pick a night.”

My Review:

Wow, again I am simply stunned by just how captivating this series is.
I have waited incredibly impatiently for this final chapter in Mia, Cameron and Richards story. Finally I got my hands on it and couldn't put it down.

Enthrall Her, book 2 in the Enthrall Sessions series, ended with Cameron whisking Mia away from dangerous hands and also Richard, again. They are running away to London, running from everything that happened at the end of her training at Chrysalis. Although Mia should now be Richards submissive, fully trained, compliant and back at their home living the life they both wanted. Mia is finding it hard to be separated from Cameron. It was obvious that the tension between Mia and Cameron was not something that would disappear overnight. They were both becoming so close and the relationship they had was awe inspiring. It's no secret that right from the start I have loved Cameron, and rooted for him and Mia to find a way to be together, although he initially wanted Mia to help his best friend out of his darkness, to me it was obvious he was far better suited to her. So I read this final book in the series with baited breath. Waiting to see what would become of the three of them and who would end up with who, and who would be left.

The story focused on concluding a lot of things, with Cameron trying to make Mia move on and forget about him, so Richard and Mia can be together. It was actually really sad to read. The pain Cameron was obviously feeling was so moving. Plus Mia's confusion over what she ultimately wanted was also really sad, as she didn't want to hurt anyone, even if she was left hurting herself. So this was quite an emotional story this time around.
Saying that, it wasn't just the emotion and romance, there was a huge amount of the incredible hot scenes, that this series has shown to excel in, right from the very start. From the unique and imaginative, to the page sizzling heat. The steam and sizzle just seemed to get even more intense the third time around. Cameron, never fails to leave me hot and flustered throughout the book. Not entirely a good thing when your sat in a hospital bed, and trying to disappear in your blankets, or else people question the bright red face. :-/

Another thing I loved about this book was the added bonus of a huge amount of suspense and mystery style atmosphere. Mia is wanted by a very influential and powerful man, although she does seem to attract them quite a lot. This particular man will stop at nothing to get his own way with Mia, and resorts to any means necessary. This adds to the tension and makes it a truly entertaining and un-put-down-able book.

I can happily say, there wasn't a single thing about this book that disappointed me. It fully lived up to my expectations, and was well worth any wait. It has finished off a perfect and captivating series, that has easily become one of my favorites. I'm feeling crazily sad to have come to the end of this series, and will miss the excitement of wondering what will happen next in their story, but I'm happy with how it all ended. A perfectly enthralling story that will stick with me for a long time.
5 Stars is nowhere near enough. More like 50 stars. I can't wait for a re-read already.

Enthrall Him - Audiobook

Abra Neville Interview:

What led you to a career in voice acting?
I've always loved acting - specifically creating different characters, moods and situations with just my voice. As a child I used to spend hours playing with recordings pretending I was interviewing a group of people and doing the voice for all the characters. I studied acting in college and professionally as well but found that stage and screen acting wasn't as interesting - plus I have crippling stage fright! After college I got a job in broadcasting and the voice work just fell into place from there.

Tell us a little about your other voiceover work? (You don’t have to answer this one if you want to remain anonymous) J
As with others in the business, my work is a mixture of audiobook recordings, TV and Film Documentary narration, commercials, video games, etc. Lately though, I seem to be doing more audiobooks and documentary narration.

What is your process before narrating a novel? Do you read the novel first or just record as you go?
I know that many narrators will read the material through and make notes as they go. I tend to have a more unorthodox approach in that I just record a chapter at a time without reading ahead. This makes the process slightly more time consuming but by doing this I feel like I'm better able to capture the mood of a particular scene more authentically because I'm experiencing it as a unique event - the way the character would. In some novels where the plot isn't linear, I will read ahead because the tone might need to be more reflective - but generally I just record as I go.

While narrating Enthrall, what was it about Mia Lauren that you found most interesting?
Wow.... let's see.... I think the most interesting aspect of Mia is her odd balance of innocence and brass. She's been very sheltered in many respects which makes her soft and impressionable - but on the other hand she surprises you with her gutsy comments and unexpected shows of strength when she stands up to others. She's certainly not one dimensional :)

This genre is similar to Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L James, The Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day, as well as This Man Series by Jodi Ellen Mapas. What was it like reading the erotic scenes?
Funny. I'm asked this all the time! Reading the erotic scenes is exactly what you'd think - it's arousing - but because I'm reading out loud ... acting - I have to stay grounded enough to give the words the life they have behind them. Basically though I try to feel exactly what Mia is feeling but more on an emotional level.

With Vanessa still writing the third novel Enthrall Him, and the conclusion to the series still unknown while you were narrating Enthrall, how did you decide that this project was for you?
Vanessa has a bunch of very well written and successful works so I felt it was safe to assume that the Enthrall series would be as successful if not more so.

Vanessa Fewings’s Interview:

How did you find the right voice actress to narrate the Enthrall Session?

I had the pleasure of listening to the auditions for my character Mia Lauren, submitted via ACX (Amazon’s Audible Creation Exchange). There were some fantastic takes on Mia, but Abra Neville stood out as not only the best fit but her other work was extraordinary. Her audition blew us away, and we immediately asked if she’d be willing to narrate all three books in the series. We were thrilled when Abra signed on.

What was it like hearing your character’s voice for the first time?
Mesmerizing. It gave me chills. It was a delight to hear Abra bring out all of Mia’s cute traits and feistiness. Abra really gets Mia Lauren, so much so, that sometimes while writing Enthrall Him I could hear Abra’s voice. Which was kind of fun. She leant her talent and passion, and it really comes through.

Although you’ve written in other genres, your Enthrall Sessions Series has been compared to Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L James, The Crossfire Series, by Sylvia Day, as well as This Man Series by Jodi Ellen Mapas, so with that in mind your work is erotic. How did Abra handle the sexy scenes?
In order for great sex scenes to work, they must have the characters transcend the physical. Erotic scenes are deserving of a natural and poetic verse, and Abra reads those scenes beautifully.

When will the audiobook of Enthrall be released?
Saturday, November 1st, 2014. With Enthrall Her following over the Holiday Season, and Enthrall Him coming out in early February.
I’m so looking forward to hearing the other two books narrated in the series. I’m thrilled that many of my readers who have enjoyed the books have stated they’ll be enjoying the audio versions too, so they can revisit the world of Enthrall and Chrysalis all over again.
Be sure to check out Vanessa’s other books, the acclaimed Stone Masters Vampires Series, and her romantic comedy Piper Day’s Ultimate Guide to Avoiding George Clooney

Chandeliers are featured in the cover art. There’s been quite a lot of buzz for the Enthrall Sessions over the use of this imagery. What is about chandeliers that fit the story so well?
Chandeliers perfectly represent the Enthrall Sessions Series. There was a lot of research before publication on what would best reflect the books. To me, they perfectly represented the luxury, decadence, and sophistication of Enthrall and Chrysalis, two underground establishments that cater to the sensual tastes of the elite.

5 stars!

Review - Enthrall Him (Enthrall Sessions #3) - Vanessa Fewings

SYNOPSIS:

This is the reward of the forbidden. This is the ecstasy of Enthrall.

Owner of L.A.’s preeminent BDSM clubs, Cameron has yet to relinquish the all encompassing control of his submissive, twenty-one year old Mia Lauren.

Mia’s training unlocks a maelstrom of passion. A powerful connection. An unpredictable result. Her uninhibited journey intensifies by the day, but there are new complications on the horizon.

A powerful rival of Cameron’s has emerged with a relentless desire to make Mia his own. Lance Merrill has the means and the will to take what he believes is his and bring down an empire in the process.

Mia is taken by Cameron to London for her protection. Her obedience will be tested in ways she could not have foreseen. Richard Sheppard, her former master, has decided it’s time to take her back. Will Cameron give her over?

Or will the choice be hers?

In the rousing third novel of the renowned Enthrall Sessions, author Vanessa Fewings guides her readers through the uncharted territories of raw passion into the most heated corners of the human heart.

This is true obsession. This is the time for Mia to Enthrall Him.

MY THOUGHTS:

Waiting to see what would become of the three of them, who would end up with who, and who would be left.

This adds to the tension and makes it a truly entertaining and an un-put-down-able book.

The drama that surrounded their time in London, just heightened the emotion and tension surrounding all the incredible scenes. I absolutely loved the addition of Oberon Grove, and the Owlets. That was an exciting world to get a look at. I would love to think there is somewhere like that in the UK. It was rich, luxurious and the mystery that surrounds it, is captivating.

I can happily say, there wasn't a single thing about this book that disappointed me. It fully lived up to my expectations, and was well worth any wait. It has finished off a perfect and captivating series, that has easily become one of my favorites. I'm feeling crazy sad to have come to the end of this series, and will miss the excitement of wondering what will happen next in their story, but I'm happy with how it all ended. A perfectly enthralling story that will stick with me for a long time.

Review - Bend Don't Break - Skye Callahan

I read this book straight after Irrevocable and was once again wowed totally!
I was a little late in reading Irrevocable but wanted to read it right from release. It sounded awesome and I love a dark, sexy read.
We learn the full story in Irrevocable, how Silver found herself in the company of Kirk and what happened to them in the time they were together in the Retreat. It was captivating and gritty, dark yet sexy, but above all a great romance too.
Irrevocable was able to be read as a standalone, you don't have to read Bend, Don't Break to conclude the story, yet... Bend, Don't Break was incredible and finished off the story perfectly. It's not a new story or a follow on, it fills the gaps in time, and memory from when Kirk and Silver are parted. We know what happened with Silver/Rose, but we don't know how Kirk was feeling and what he was doing. In Bend, Don't Break, we learn Kirk's/James's side of things. Through flashbacks and memories, it shows us just what was going on in his mind. How he felt about the key events between them in the time they were together, and also how he is surviving and coping with not being able to see Rose.
The writing style is just as gritty and addictive. I couldn't stop reading James's account, and thought it finished off the story perfectly. Totally un-put-down-able. A fantastic series.
4 Stars.

Excerpt #1

“She’s fine,” Dr. Combs assured me. “But I don’t think it would be in the best interest for either of you to see each other. You put yourself in a dangerous situation with her.”
Put myself? Last I checked I wasn’t the one to drag her into the Retreat. “I kept her alive and slightly less broken than she would have otherwise been.”
“The two of you adapted to a horrible situation, found comfort in each other—”
I didn’t want to hear it.
Stockholm Syndrome.
I wondered if the captor could get it, too. Was I even the captor? It seemed like I’d lost control of the situation long ago.
But I’d still been the one to beat her, rape her, bend her will.
Just like she’d bent mine.
I wanted her back so bad I couldn’t breathe. The more we talked about it, the worse it got. The harsh reality of it all forced me to face the possibility that I had to walk away if I wanted to do what was in her best interest.
“How long until I can talk to Trent?” I tried again, drawing back a modicum of control by changing the course of the conversation.
Dr. Combs sighed and snapped her portfolio closed. “If it’ll get you to talk, I’ll make the arrangements on one condition.”
I’d already sold my soul, there weren’t many more concessions I had left to give.
“I need to know you’re not going to try to reach out to Rose—or anyone else.”
Did that mean there was a chance she’d see me? Or was Dr. Combs convinced I’d stalk and abduct her anyway? That was quite a laughable possibility, but some sick-as-fuck part of me considered it.

Book Trailer

Excerpt #2

She came around the corner on hands and knees, and I saw her face visibly pale as soon as she saw the chain in my hands, but she approached anyway. Stubborn, belligerent, and brave.
Three traits that’d get her killed.
I dropped the chain to the floor next to the bed. “Come up here.”
She paused, but finally climbed onto the bed and straddled my lap as I directed, and damned if I didn’t feel like I was losing it. The bruises from her encounter with Gabe’s buffoons were starting to set in, but she pulled back and shut herself off as I examined her.
Such a degrading way to make sure nothing was broken, but if she didn’t believe my act, no one else would either. I realized the plug in her ass was probably growing even more uncomfortable with time, especially if she hadn’t experimented with them before.
Not that I could ask since I wasn’t supposed to care.
“Hate me all you want, Sugar,” I said, hoping to get her to walk a fine line between trust and fear where she might listen. “I’m the only ally you have.”
“Ally…?” she whispered, “You’re going to hurt me.” Her eyes filled again, but she blinked it away and held back just like she had in the basement, and I couldn’t face her any longer.
“I am,” I lifted her off of me, flipping her over. “Ass up.”
Even though she kept up her protective walls, I saw her body visibly relax when I pulled the plug free and sat it on the side table. It was going to be hard enough for her to kneel through dinner. I hoped the threat of it might make her more compliant.
The mix of vulnerability countered with her impossible stubbornness had an aphrodisiac effect on me. I had been convinced this was the only way we’d survive, but for the first time, I truly considered the effect it was going to have on both of us.

Ten Fun Facts

  1. I love cars, and I write most of my books while watching Top Gear. I’d prefer the sound of an Aston Martin over any music sound track.

  2. I once based a character in a story on my husband, and the character died. He never lets me live it down, but don’t bother trying to figure it out, I never released that book.

  3. I’m not terribly good at being girly–I don’t wear makeup, only own 4 pairs of shoes, and I’ve never had a manicure.

  4. I learned to handle a gun before I learned long division.

  5. While most of the people in my graduate research classes were buried in books, I was glued to the TV researching the evolving portrayal of “Indianness”.

  6. I have a phobia of crickets.

  7. Yuengling is my weakness.

  8. I have penguin stuff everywhere--even a penguin snuggie because I couldn’t resist.

  9. I enjoy long walks in the cemetery.

  10. Nearly everyone in my family has seen a ghost in the hallway in the house I grew up in, and I was told by a Bigfoot expert that the sounds I used to hear outside my bedroom at night were likely the cries of Bigfoot.
