My new neighbor is irresistible, and he’s keeping me up ALL night long…
Emerson Hayes is sexy, arrogant, and has abs that would put a Hemsworth to shame. He’s also opening a bar with his buddies right below my apartment. Goodbye, peace and quiet, hello sleepless nights fantasizing about my hot new landlord…
But when my stuffy workplace makes it clear I need a plus-one for our events, I have the perfect way to even the score. Emerson is A+ arm-candy… as long as I can resist taking a bite. Our arrangement is supposed to be just for show, but Emerson is like that fifth shot of tequila: tempting, intoxicating, and liable to leave me flat on my back with my panties around my ankles, begging for more.
Maybe I should stay for just one more round…
Sparks fly in the hot new standalone series from Katie McCoy.

What a captivating novel! I loved Rascal. This novel is a stand-alone, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the other characters in this book get their own stories. This book has a ton of heat, a little bit of drama, and a whole lot of will they or won’t they. All in all, it was a great story.
The plot of this book was interesting. The beginning of the book started in an fascinating way. The meet-cute was perfect and set up a whimsical story to draw readers in. What I loved most is the theme of the book. I feel like the theme of this book is trust.
Each character has their own journey to go through. With the theme of trust in mind, you can see how each character has struggled with trust and how it effects their lives. Alex is such a delightful character. I feel like she is a lot like me in the personality department, so that might make me biased. Emerson is different than most male characters. He has a different way of viewing life than most men I feel. He has a huge story arc. I think his story was even more important than Alex’s story.
These two characters has a unique chemistry. They start off different than most characters so I feel that changed the dynamic in this portion of the story. I liked how they had immediate attraction, but didn’t necessarily give in right away. I love how strong-willed Alex is. She is such a strong character which leads to some very heated scenes between her and Emerson.
The pace of this book is steady. The story started on a high note and ended just as well. There was tons of humor throughout this story. The minor characters really added to the whole story. They were dynamic and helped enhance the story. Not only was I invested in the main characters, I also became invested in the minor characters. The author wrote them in a way that they felt like family to me.
In conclusion, this was a well written story. I was drawn in from the beginning and was devouring the book until the very end. The characters were so lovely and I cannot wait to read more about them. I think this will shape up to be an amazing series.
