Title: Christmas with the Billionaire
Author: Lila Monroe
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: November 30, 2017

Blurb

Spice up the holiday season with the hilarious new holiday
novella from Lila Monroe.

Dressing up as a sexy elf to sing Christmas hits isn’t
exactly the glittering Broadway career I had planned. The only thing more
humiliating than my outfit is coming face-to-face with Oliver Gage, the sexy
big-shot theatre producer who just crushed my dreams. He’s arrogant,
infuriating… and did I mention how sexy he is?

I’ve sworn never to get comfy on the casting couch, but when
we’re snowed in together upstate, it’s looking like a pretty good place to
spend the night. Soon, sparks - and my panties - are flying.

Who said Christmas only had to come once a year?

Christmas with the Billionaire is book 6 in the Lucky in Love series. I didn't realize that until I started reading it. I believe this could be read as a standalone but again I am not sure as I didn't start with book 1 in the series. This was a fast quick read.

Christmas with the Billionaire is about Jill who has a dream of becoming an actress in a lead role since she was 6 years old. She goes to audition for a spot and sees the sexy theatre producer, Oliver Gage. At the audition the panel he doesn't even notice her and she tells them like it is being her wanting something and storms off. The next day she goes and has this gig and sings and dances while wearing an elf costume, guess who she runs into, Oliver. On the way home on the train it gets delayed so Oliver asks her if she has a way home and she says no so he offers to take her to his place.   Without going into more detail, the main characters in this book were entertaining. The chemistry between these two is smoking.

The way Oliver was around Jill.. caring, serious and flirty was my favorite.

The writing flowed nicely and with this being the first book I've read by Lila Monroe, it certainty won't be the last!
I really enjoyed everything about this story from the setting to the characters!
If you are looking for a quick read that also is steamy as well as romantic comedy then I would recommend this book to you!

"An elf's gotta do what an elf's gotta do."

"He kisses me. Hard, and full of lust, and so goddam sexy."

"I won't be responsible for getting in the way of your dream."

REVIEW - Cowboy Up - Harper Sloan

TITLE - Cowboy Up
AUTHOR - Harper Sloan

Released Dec 19th

BLURB:

New York Times bestselling author Harper Sloan returns with the third in her sultry, Western-set Coming Home series, in which the eldest Davis sibling Clay may have finally met his match—but will he be able to give up the solitary, quiet life he’s built in the name of love?

As the eldest of the Davis clan, Clayton has always tried to lead by example. Along with taking his job as head of the family business seriously, he is also determined to keep his brother and sister in line. Clay is known for being serious, silent, and stoic—completely in control of his life. And with the way he grew up, coupled with a disastrous end to the last relationship he was in, he’s just fine with his quiet, solitary life.

What he hadn’t counted on was Caroline Michaels. She’s the proverbial woman next door—the town next door, that is. Caroline hasn’t lived an easy life, but after escaping from an abusive relationship, she’s finally living for herself and no one else. The last thing the quirky, shy bookstore owner expected was a steamy one-night stand with Clay Davis.

When Caroline and Clay meet, the connection is instant, both falling into one heated night of passion before parting ways—both driven by their own reasons to deny what they clearly wish didn’t have to end. It isn’t until Caroline falls on hard times and Clay comes back into the picture that they realize just how impossible it will be to stay away from each other.

Will Clay be able to give up his rootless existence in favour of finally settling down? And, more important, will Caroline want him to?

Johnaka's Review:

“The final Davis sibling, 5 stars”

Clayton Davis never thought he would settle down and become a family man. In a way he already raised his kids (siblings) and if he hadn’t found the woman to settle him down by now then he didn’t have much faith he ever would. Or so he thought until he met sweet Caroline. In Caroline he found that he wanted it all and it would be easy to do. But what happens if someone doesn’t want you to be happy and tries to take it all away?

Caroline…sweet sweet Caroline. She’s been to h*ll and back and most importantly lived. Ever since then she’s been putting one foot in front of the other and trying to find her place. Which is slightly tricky for the shy girl. One night she decides to live a little outside her normal and that’s when everything changes. She knew Clayton when she was younger and had a crush on him then. Not much has changed aside from the fact he’s looking at her now. Can she manage to get the guy she always wanted?

I loved how both Caroline and Clayton accepted immediately that they were meant to be and never questioned it. There was never that stupid moment of I should walk away. They knew that they were meant to make it out on the other side, and I loved it. Maybe because that’s because that’s how I see love. You hold on for dear life and don’t even think about getting bucked off. We got to see the other Davis siblings and their spouses and watch the family grow which was awesome. I loved getting caught up on all of them and seeing everyone happy.

Take a chance on the Davis’ and watch everyone become a little bit strong with the love of their partner. As far as I am concerned Sloan knocked it out of the park again with Cowboy Up.

REVIEW - Only for You - Melissa Foster

TITLE - Only for You
AUTHOR - Melissa Foster

Releases December 5th

BLURB:

Love only works when your heart is in the right place. Hers could be right next door…
Single mom Bridgette Dalton doesn’t have time to stop and smell the roses—not even in her own flower shop. But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t noticed Bodhi Booker. Her ruggedly handsome next-door neighbor would be the perfect candidate for a no-strings fling. Having loved and lost, Bridgette’s not ready to hand over her heart…but she could use a distraction.
Bodhi has one rule: never leave anyone behind. As a special operative, he knows that each new mission is more dangerous than the last. He’s never made a promise of forever to a woman, not even to the beautiful widow who has him tied in knots. And if there were anyone who could tempt him into putting down roots, it would be Bridgette and her adorable son.
But as his next deployment nears, they make a startling discovery. Their passion, meant only for the here and now, might already be blossoming into something more…

Johnaka's Review:

“Love finds you no matter if your ready or not, 5 stars”

Bridgette knows loss. She lost her husband years ago when her son was a baby. Over time she has accepted it and moved on, trying to be the best mother she can be. Bridgette is focused on her business, son, and family, she has no time for a man. She hasn’t felt the desire to even be with one since her husband, which worries her family. She used to be full of life and mischief and now she’s hyper focused. Until Bodhi.

Bodhi only came to Sweetwater to fix up the house he bought for his mother. Thanks to a reliable source pointing him in the direction of the quiet little town he now knows his mother has a place to retire. At first, he sees Bridgette at the bakery, and he’s intrigued. As luck would have it she’s his mothers new neighbour. When he finds out she has a son, thing’s change. Not because he doesn’t like kids but because he lives a complicated life and doesn’t want to hurt Bridgette or her son. But sometimes the best laid plans don’t stick, you can’t stop fate.

I absolutely loved Only for You. I so got where both of them were coming from. Bodhi is private sector military, he never knows when he will be going, how long he will be gone, or if he will come back. I completely got that from where my husband is military. Bodhi and Bridgette knew their time was running out and I know that feeling all too well. I feel that pain before every deployment.

Bridgette tried to be strong so her son didn’t know that anything was wrong and as a parent it's best but it's hard. I’ve been there and done that and reliving it in Only for You made me cry. How Foster described everything they knew was bound to happen was real for me. I hate admitting I cried because I NEVER cry in books, but to me that’s how I knew the book was good!

You will go through all the emotions in this story and pray they make it out on the other side together. Plans be d*mned! Scroll up to the top and one-click, you wont regret it. Just make sure you have tissues close.

REVIEW - The Bachelor Contract - Rachel Van Dyken

TITLE - The Bachelor Contract
AUTHOR - Rachel Van Dyken

Releases November 28th

BLURB:

A second-chance romance from the #1 NYT bestseller of The Bet, Matchmaker and Elite series!

She's everywhere.

Ex-wife.

Love of his life.

The last person in the world he wanted to see...ever.

And now that he's working beside her every day, he can't escape her. Her scent, glimpses of her smile, even the tension in the air that makes his body hum with the kind of need he'd only experienced with one person-all of it is driving him over the edge.

Brant Wellington was certain of three things:

Alcohol wasn't going to solve this.

He really was losing his F-ing mind.

And his gorgeous ex-wife was going to be the death of him.

Johnaka's Review:

“Rollercoaster of emotions, 5 stars”

If you have read the other two Bachelor books by RVD you know that Brant is a hot mess. If you haven’t that’s okay, you’ll figure it out soon enough. RVD takes us through a rollercoaster of emotions. I was so into the story that I didn’t move and forgot about my wine glass that was sitting right next to me until I hit the last page.

Brant is a disaster. I never expected to like him. But then I found out why he was a mess and I could understand it. And then when Nikki came back into his life he started lashing out until he decided it was time to man up and take what was his. Then I fell a little bit in love with him while he was busy working on making Nikki love him back. I thought he was the typical spoiled rich boy, but that is so far off the mark it’s not even funny.

Nikki is resilient. If I went through half the stuff she went through I don’t think I would handle it with near the grace she did. She has had a hard four years, but she’s made it with the help from her best friend. When her ex shows back up she doesn’t know what to do. Does she go with the man she still loves but left her broken hearted? Or does she start over with the man who’s been by her side through it all?

I loved everything about this story. All the characters were spot on. At one point I was really expecting everyone to have either team Nikki or Brant signs. I loved how RVD rounded out the Wellington family and I will cross my fingers that she gives Cole Masters a story of his own.

Excerpt

It was Brant.

Always Brant.

Maybe that was because they’d never had any real closure. Just fighting, yelling, and then silence.

God, she’d hated the silence so much more than the yelling.

The silence crackled with tension—it was always filled with more meaning than when words were actually spoken.

It wasn’t the yelling that had killed their relationship.

It was the silence that had followed. When he had every opportunity to fix it—and didn’t.

Why was it so hard to move on? Probably because she hadn’t tried.

Instead, she’d worked. Tried to stay positive. And hoped.

Damn hope. Stupid hope.

“He’s not coming back for me,” she whispered, knowing that if she finally admitted he wasn’t coming, she would have to take her part of the blame in why. Because it wasn’t just on him to come running back. A small part of her knew that it was her job to meet him halfway. Instead, she’d ignored the need in his eyes, the desperate plea in his voice, and allowed grief to swallow her whole. Because at the time she’d needed someone to blame, and it was easier blaming him than herself.

Release Blitz & Review - Always You - Denise Grover Swank

ALWAYS YOU by Denise Grover Swank
(November 28, 2017; Forever Mass Market Paperback; $7.99; Bachelor Brotherhood Book 3)

"Swank's fluffy, feel-good storytelling proclaims the primacy of love as a force to which everyone should surrender-the bachelors destined to star in future instalments haven't got a chance." --- Publishers Weekly (starred review) on Only You

First love is better the second time around.

Matt Osborn had no idea coaching his five-year-old nephew's soccer team would get him so much attention from the mothers-attention he doesn't want now that he's given up on love and having a family of his own. Yep, Matt's the last of his bachelor buddies, and plans on staying that way. That is, until he finds himself face-to-face with the woman who broke his heart.

Single mom Anna paused her life in England to help her father recover from an illness. She can't afford complications, and too-hot-for-his-own-good Matt Osborn-her almost former fiancé-is definitely a complication. He's a reminder of what might have been-or should have been. That irresistible pull between them isn't over. Not even close. But if she's not careful, she'll break both their hearts . . . again.

OUR REVIEW:

“Second chance, 5 stars”

Ahhh…Anna and Matt….I loved them. This is one of those stories where you meet your soulmate too young only to have them show up at the most unlikely time. There is no denying they love each other even after twelve years, but they are older and wiser. They know not everything works out the way you hope, and now they have little people they have to put ahead of themselves.

Matt has only loved one woman, but she’s long gone. He always planned on the white picket fence, dog, and kid’s life. Only all he has is his nephew. Matt is taking the steps needed to get the life he wants when Anna shows up at his nephew’s soccer practice. Only she’s not there for him, she’s there for her son.

Anna knew she needed to leave and spread her wings and in doing so she broke her own heart. Now she’s pack in town even though it’s not long term and has her son in tow. She’s there long enough to enrol him in school and activities. What she didn’t expect was to see Matt and for him to be the uncle of her son’s new best friend.

Will they be able to stay cordial or will they cross the line of pleasantries and get personal once again? I loved the way Matt loved not only Anna but her son. Anna’s desire never to upset Matt was admirable and I could see where she was coming from.

Matt’s nephew and Anna’s son play a huge roll in this story and I absolutely loved them. I am crossing my fingers that somewhere down the line we get a book for each when they are old enough. Then of course the other secondary characters were awesome as well. It was an awesome read that felt like it went by way too fast, but wasn’t missing anything.

Excerpt

What would make her happy was standing right in front of her, and she was struggling to remember why this was a bad idea. “I have an appointment at one,” she said. “Another assisted living center tour. With the friend you recommended.”
“We can work around it.”
She should turn him down. She knew she should, so why was she saying, “Okay.”
He smiled, looking more like good-natured Coach Matt and not Alpha Male Matt, the man she’d gotten to know well in her bed twelve years ago.
Damned if she didn’t want Alpha Matt.
He was less than two feet from her, watching her with an intensity that suggested he knew he was making her squirm and loving every minute of it.
“Great,” Matt said, as though he hadn’t made the air temperature rise twenty degrees just from the timbre of his voice. “If you want, Toby can stay with us when you go to your appointment, and then we’ll all go after you’re done.”
“Yeah.” It was a great plan, but standing this close to him made her nervous. She didn’t trust herself to walk out the door without doing something foolish, like kiss him, because right now that seemed like a real possibility. “I should go.” She took a step back and lost her footing.

Matt reached for her, snaking an arm around her back and pulling her upright against him.
Anna sucked in a breath at the contact. Her hands rested on his chest, and she realized it was just as solid as she’d remembered. Shivers ran up her arms and she found herself molding her body to his.
His hand stayed in place on her back, pulling her even closer.
She knew she should back away, but she wanted this, wanted him, and that was dangerous. She was a mother now. Her son had to come first.
“I can’t stay, Matt,” she said again, feeling like a broken record, but she had to make sure he didn’t feel deceived by her again. He deserved full honesty. “I have to think about Toby. I can’t hurt him.”
He looked surprised. “Anna, I would never willingly hurt Toby.”
“But this…us…if we do this…” Did she confess her son’s deepest desire for a father to love him and her worry that this would only confuse him? Was it her secret to tell? “I have to think about Toby. And Ethan.”
“We’re not going to hurt them, Anna.”
“We might. If we get too close.” I might get hurt if we get too close.
Too late for that…
He kept his hand on her back, and lifted the other to the side of her neck. He didn’t answer, at least not with words. He lowered his face, his lips gently brushing hers.

Her breath caught. His touch was like a jolt of electricity to her heart, bringing her back to life.
