But Penina knows, if she’s smart, she'll stay far away from Dr. Jake Sparrow—if that’s even his real name. She has a habit of attracting and falling for liars and cheaters, and that's exactly who the secretive Dr. Sparrow feels like to her.
However, at times she catches him staring at her from across the room, and when he does, her heart races like the wind. He’s so seductive, so yummy, which is why Penina can no longer resist him. Then, one day she discovers what he’s been hiding, and his secret hits closer to home than she could ever imagine.

Louise's Review
Seduction is book 1 in The Secret Billionaire Asher Christmas Trilogy; I admit when I started this book, I didn’t realise it was a trilogy one that I defiantly couldn’t put down.

Dr Penina Ross is a very dedicated Dr would is has finally gotten out of a horrible relationship and is now focusing on the end of her training and stepping into the roles she has always wanted; but when she meets Dr Sparrow everything changes.
Dr Jake Sparrow AKA Asher Christmas is hiding a secret, just not one but more than anyone should. With a family legacy that no one wants he wanted a fresh start, but when his fresh start collides with his past he is left with more questions than answers.

I personally enjoyed this story, I was on edge from the moment I started, Arkadie is a new to me author and has left me hanging for book 2.

Excerpt:

“I don’t like this.”
A hand went to the back of my chair, a head popped up between our two front seats, and that was announced. Mason was in the driver’s seat and I was in the passenger seat. Logan looked at each of us. He was wearing a distinct frown-smirk combo on his face as he said his piece.
Problem was, he’d been saying it since we left Boston, since we landed in California, and since we’d been in the rental and driving three hours past Fallen Crest.
It’d been said. It’d been heard.
We were now at the part where we wanted to murder my brother-in-law. Or, correction, where I wanted to murder my brother-in-law. Mason was stoic and driving. He was able to get in the zone and tune Logan out. Taylor was sitting in her chair, reading on her phone. She had the whole tuning-out thing too.
Not me. I was a mom, so somehow that meant I always had to be aware and alert, and now I was close to grinding my teeth and yelling for a Logan time-out.
Five minutes in the back, please.
Mason grunted. “Tough shit.”
Nice. Maybe he wasn’t so ‘tuned out.’
I looked at Taylor. “Can you keep him under control?”
She glanced up from her phone. “You know the answer to that question. You’ve known him longer.”
Touché.
“I’m not sleeping with him.”
Taylor just laughed. “Shouldn’t have said that. He’s probably refraining from twenty different inappropriate jokes as I’m talking.”
“Ahem.” Logan gave us both a look. “It’s because I love both of you—in different ways—and respect both of you that I’m not touching that. But Sam…” Logan leveled me with an aggrieved look, his eyebrows raised. “Can you watch what you say? Old Logan would’ve been all over that one, and can you imagine the innuendos?” He gestured to himself, his face tight. “But I’m here. Being polite—”
“Sorry. I thought since you’re older and in law school, you’d be more mature.”
“It’s like you don’t know me at all.” But he was grinning.
“Logan.” Insert some assertive tone here. I had to make my point. “We got a babysitter for the weekend. I got permission for a full weekend off from my training. Your brother is on a much-needed vacation before football training starts, and I have been needing Heather time even though I saw her a few weeks ago.”
I had a point. What was it? “So shut it, okay?”
That was my point.
“All I’m saying is that we were supposed to do the yacht. Nate and Matteo were up for it. Now suddenly we’re doing a camping thing. I’m not clear on the why?”
Mason glanced into the rearview mirror. “It was Nate’s idea. He said something about family research. What’s your issue? You like camping.”
“That’s when we were young. We did stupid shit back then like. We’re old now. If we go camping, I prefer it to be on things like yachts. Or we stay in a mega-mansion and our camping is napping by the pool. I like that type of camping.”
Taylor frowned at him. “Babe.”
He shot her a look, frowning slightly, but his face softened. He reached out, touching her leg. “It’s nothing. I’ll get over it.”
Good.
That was settled.
Two minutes later, it wasn’t.

Release + Review - The Hating Season - K.A Linde

Court Kensington is a thorn in my side.

I’m hired to clean up his badboy image, which would’ve been easy if my life wasn’t falling apart.

First, I catch my movie star husband having an affair with his co-star. Then when I return to work, my job is at stake, because Court has gotten himself into trouble...again.

Instead of getting him back in line, I find myself falling for his charm. And into his bed. And against the wall. And, and, and…

Except Kensington charm shouldn’t work on me. Not when I’ve sworn to never ever sleep with a client.

I had good intentions.

I really did.

But we all know the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Louise's Review
The Hating Season is book 2 in the ‘Seasons’ series and I have been hanging to read this since I finished The Lying Season. Having met with Court and London in book 1 I knew there was more to Court than the bad boy life he portrays.

London has been left feeling humiliated and heartbroken, when a moment with Court changes everything she is determined not to let anything destroy the career she has built. Is it a 1 time thing or could this actually be forever?

I personally LOVED this story, Linde set up this book perfectly in The Lying Season and once I started reading this book I could not put it down. I now have started a countdown till I can get my hands on The Breaking Season, Camden and Katherine’s story which I think is going to be explosive.

Johnaka's Review
“Court Kensington, 5 stars”

Okay, we’re back Upper East Siders and I couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that The Hating Season is the mysterious Court Kensington’s story. Is he really as awful as he’s been made out to be? I heard he has a publicist. Will she be able to reshape his image? Only one way to find out…
I loved Court and English and I think if you one-click The Hating Season you will too. If you loved Gossip Girl well look no further. One thing is for sure, Linde is killing it with this series and I cannot wait to see what she does next.

They say you can’t go home again…
Tyler “Doobie” Dubois is excited about moving back home to New Orleans after being away for five years. He left with a broken heart, determined to make it through the police academy and become a great cop, while finding his place in the world. Now, he’s ready to come home and regain his place in the family. Unfortunately, not everyone is ready to welcome him back with open arms.
Time heals all wounds…
Alicia loves her life. Ever since she moved to New Orleans from Michigan, she’s been accepted for who she is and is thriving in The Big Easy. She’s open to love, although not actively looking for it, so when her best friend and roommate asks her to steer clear of Doobie romantically, she readily agrees. After all, she’s never even met him.
A chemistry that can’t be denied…
What begins as a friendship quickly turns to something more and they’ll both discover that loving each other is an Easy Risk.

Johnaka's Review
“Coming Home, 4 stars"

Easy Risk is a sweet story. Tyler left home years ago and is finally returning and let’s just say it’s not the homecoming he expected. His sisters don’t want to speak to him, his parents wish that he would stay with them longer and he keeps running into his ex-best friend and ex-girlfriend. What he wasn’t expecting was Alicia. Alicia is his sisters’ best friend and let’s just say she makes coming home a little less painful. The question is will he be able to convince her that he’s worth the risk?

Easy Risk was a sweet quick read that I think most will enjoy. Lopez kept true to the Boudreaux vibe and I loved it. If you loved Kristen Proby’s Boudreaux series than I think you’ll enjoy Easy Risk.

Release + Review - By a Thread - Lucy Score

Dominic was staring at me like he couldn’t decide whether to chop me into pieces or pull my hair and French kiss me.

Dominic
I got her fired. Okay, so I’d had a bad day and took it out on a bystander in a pizza shop. But there’s nothing innocent about Ally Morales. She proves that the first day at her new job… in my office… after being hired by my mother.

So maybe her colorful, annoying, inexplicably alluring personality brightens up the magazine’s offices that have felt like a prison for the past year. Maybe I like that she argues with me in front of the editorial staff. And maybe my after-hours fantasies are haunted by those brown eyes and that sharp tongue.

But that doesn’t mean that I’m going to be the next Russo man to take advantage of his position. I might be a second-generation son of a… fill in the blank, but I am not my father.

She’s working herself to death at half a dozen dead-end jobs for some secret reason she doesn’t feel like sharing with me. And I’m going to fix it all. Don’t accuse me of caring. She’s nothing more than a puzzle to be solved. If I can get her to quit, I can finally peel back all those layers. Then I can go back to salvaging the family name and forget all about the dancing, beer-slinging brunette.

Ally
Ha. Hold my beer, Grumpy Grump Face.

Author’s Note: A steamy, swoony workplace romantic comedy with a grumpy boss hero determined to save the day and a plucky heroine who is starting to wonder if there might actually be a beating heart beneath her boss’s sexy vests.

Johnaka's Review
“Mr. Grumpy, 5 stars”

Guys, if you haven’t read Score before you should now. Score writes laugh out loud romance that will have you wiping tears of laughter from your eyes. By a Thread is no exception. Dom and Ally are complete opposites but they work. I love Ally’s no-nonsense attitude when it comes to Dom. He can be as growly as he wants and she won’t take his butthead ways. If your looking for a fun workplace romance with a super grumpy hero and a sassy heroine look no further.

He got me fired. His date gave me a job. Turns out his date was actually his mother and now I’m working for the both of them. He can push all he wants but I won’t quit. But what happens when the chemistry becomes too much? Will we cave?

Release + Review - Heartless King - Maya Hughes

Two blue lines. That means not pregnant, right? Right? Oh, sh*t.

Five years ago, Colm Frost asked me to marry him and I ran. I ran from my painful past too raw and fresh to escape. He was the only one who looked at me like I wasn’t broken and made me believe it. He made me feel it.
Now, he’s the hot, angry, hockey player on the mend.
I’m the physiotherapist who’s supposed to get him back on his feet.
I don’t think our night together was what his doctor prescribed, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t dreamt of him every time I close my eyes. I woke up beside him with my body still singing from the way he fanned the flames of my desire, but I couldn’t stay.

His lips on my neck. His hands wrapped around my waist. His impressive...ahem, touch leaving me breathless.
One moment of wild inhibition and it’s come back to bite me in the butt. Kind of like he did that night.
But a baby? Our night was supposed to be a one time thing, closing a door on the future I couldn’t handle.
Will this new bump in the road be everything we needed to find our forever?

Heartless King is a standalone friends to enemies to lovers, accidental pregnancy romance that brings all the laugh out loud, angsty feels!

Johnaka's Review
“Redeemable grouch, 4 stars”

Colm and Imogen have a complicated history, but Colm was there when Imogen was mourning the loss of her long-time boyfriend. Now its time to return the favor. Colm needs to heal from his injuries and get back on the ice. Will Imogen be able to help him? Is this the time for them to act on those feelings that used to be there?

I liked Colm and Imogen. Hughes wrote a solid story. I love hockey romances and even though Heartless King was light on the hockey the elements were still there. I dig accidental pregnancies/surprise pregnancies and there was definitely one in here. If you take a chance on Heartless King, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Jennifer's Review
Finally! Heartless King is the last book in this series. To say it was highly anticipated would be an understatement. In this book, we get to see Colm in a whole new light. This was a great book!
I will say that the blurb was a little misleading. It is about the book, but I felt this book was different than I expected when reading.the blurb. Not that I minded. This book starts off after the book before ends. While you can read it as a standalone, I suggest you read the others.
The heat in this book is off the hook! These two characters have undeniable chemistry! The writing of the book is good as well. I liked how the author laid everything out for us.
In conclusion, I enjoyed this book. It was a great read! I can't wait to see what this author does next!

The question had been running through my head all night: how could I get her to leave? But I didn’t want her to go. And now the maple syrup and cinnamon taste of her sent me hurtling close to the edge of my control. Those reserves were running on fumes.
Everyone else had been run off by my anger or blinded by my money, but not her. If anything, she battled me, pushing me like she knew I needed it. She wouldn’t let me hide the splintered and cracked pieces of myself that I was barely holding together.
She didn’t push me to talk, just slid in past my defenses and got me to say more than I should.
“Do you want me to stop?” I ran my fingers through her hair, tugging on the roots.
Her lips parted in a gasp and I deepened the kiss, needing to taste even more of her. She’d teased me, eating that French toast that smelled like a vanilla and cinnamon factory had exploded when it arrived at our table.
She stared into my eyes, heavy breaths shuddering past her lips. “Hell no.”

Release + Review - Spark - Gillian Archer

Flames almost killed this ex-firefighter. And the sparks he’s feeling now might burn what’s left of his heart.

Sabrina
He was a charming S.O.B. when I dated him two years ago, but the Logan Carter who arrives at Bad@ss Builds is a shadow of the one I knew. This Logan is surly, bitter, and scarred—evidence of the fire he survived marks him both inside and out.
Does he really not remember me?

Logan
I’m upright and functioning. Isn’t that enough? I shouldn’t even be alive. And I definitely don’t have time for the bubbly, gorgeous woman from my past who can do better than me.
No matter how much I wish I could be the man she remembers.

*Can be read as a standalone

Louise's Review

Spark is book 3 in the Burns Brothers series; while it is not about one of the Burns brothers it is their Cousin/sister’s story Sabrina.

Sabrina has been living with a heartbreaking secret that is slowly eating away at her, when a ghost walks back into her life, his reaction to her is not what she expected. Logan hasn’t been living every since the accident, the one that took away his best friend living with the physical and metal pain of his losses he pushes everyone away until he doesn’t. Logan and Sabrina have a history one that they cannot deny any longer.

I personally enjoyed this story; it is my favourite so far in the series. I am looking forward to the rest of the books in the series.

“Seriously? I thought you’d be all over that.” The woman was one of the most tenacious I knew. No way she’d just roll over and hide her head in the sand. That wasn’t Sabrina.
“Yeah, I guess it’s taking me a minute to come to terms with the fact that my whole life has been a lie.” She swiped suspiciously at her eyes. But she couldn’t be crying—her voice sounded too flat and matter of fact. “I thought you of all people would get that.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Oh come on. You’ve spent the better part of two years pushing everyone you know and love away from you because you survived when most of your crew didn’t. It doesn’t take a psychologist to see that you have a serious f*cking case of survivor’s guilt.”
“F*ck you.” She didn’t know what the hell she was talking about.
“Already have.” Her smile looked more like a snarl. “Wouldn’t mind having one last throw though.”
“You’re nuts.”
“Takes one to know one.”
I snorted a laugh. Christ, how could she be so cute while being all angry and plastered?
“I’ve heard that angry sex is hot. Maybe we should try it.”
I about swallowed my tongue when she said that. While I was busy sputtering, she leaned over and kissed me. Her hand cupped the side of my face as her lips covered mine.
Contrary to her angry words, she was just as soft and delicious as I remembered. She moaned deep in her throat, and I lost it. I took control of the kiss, moving my lips over hers, relearning everything I forgot I knew about her.
I pulled her onto me until she straddled me then pulled her face down to mine so I could kiss her some more. While I was busy kissing her, our hands roamed. I had my hands full of her amazing tits and was thinking about the best way to get her bra off. Because I loved her breasts. They were gorgeous and soft and just everything. I had to have more.
Sabrina must’ve thought the same since her hands raked down my back, her nails scoring my skin under my shirt.
I stiffened.
That used to be something I loved, but not anymore. I couldn’t bear to even look at that part of me in the mirror, let alone touch it. I sure as hell didn’t want her to feel my f*cked-up skin.
A prickling sensation swept over my scalp and my body heated in a way that had absolutely nothing to do with the alcohol or the gorgeous woman on my lap. I pulled back and gulped to keep the champagne down.
Sabrina slumped into me with a moan. “Is the room spinning, or is that just me? Or maybe it’s you.”
F*ck. I held her a little bit away from me, wary she was going to puke. She blinked blearily back at me and smiled.
I sighed. “You’re wasted. We can’t do this.”
What had I been thinking? Everything about this was so f*cking wrong.
But I still really wanted to. My dick throbbed impatiently under her round ass.
We hated each other. Or something. I couldn’t remember exactly. Something else held claim to the majority of my blood flow.
