Guy Rule #1: Sisters Are Off Limits

Bailey Cross grew up as the only daughter of a single mom. When she

finds out about a family she never knew she had, she travels half-way

across the country to meet them. On the night Bailey hits town, her nerves

get the better of her, making her act out of character when she meets

Wyatt Kincaid in a bar and lets him take her home. After a night that rocks

her world, she races out of his bed as quickly as she fell into it. But, there is

one thing Bailey can’t run from, the baby she and Wyatt created.

Wyatt went out looking for a good time and found a hell of a lot more than

he’d bargained for. He wants more than a one night stand with the woman

in his bed; he wants a chance at forever. But when he wakes up the next

morning, she’s gone. He searches for her, but Bailey is nowhere to be

found… until he goes looking in his best friend’s home.

Warning: This novella contains a sexy alpha, insta-love, and an "oops"

baby! It's quick, hot, and dirty.

Our Review

Wyatt and Bailey. Two random strangers, meet one night in a bar. They're crazy attracted to each other so one one thing leads to another and they spend the night in bed together. Only when Wyatt wakes up, there is no Bailey in his bed and she's nowhere to be found. Baileys safely at home with her new father, step mother and her brother making a new life for herself.
"She's mine. I refuse to accept any other outcome than to find her."
Fast forward a while and Wyatt finds her in the home of his best friend ( her brother ) their one night of passion catches up with them.

These two are bloody adorable both separately and together. Wyatt is so caveman and ego, but at the same time so sweet and I want him, Bailey was kind and naive but with a funky attitude. The pair of them dealing with the consequences of their actions is so sweet and so entertaining at the same time, as are the rest of Baileys family.

I wasn't expecting quite so much from a novella, but I was so pleased with this, it was the perfect mix of a Nice, funny leading pair with off the charts sexual chemistry and a story that's equal parts nice and smutty. A perfect little afternoon pick me up.
"There you go with the sweet again."

EXCERPT

Our conversation lulled and we stared at each other, the silence thick and

heavy with want. Her eyes were filled with need, so I closed the distance

between us and gently placed my mouth on hers. Her lips immediately

parted, and I left gentle behind as my tongue swept in to mate with hers,

my head slanting to deepen the kiss. I dove a hand into her lustrous hair

and the other landed on her hip, bringing our bodies as flush as possible

considering we were seated side by side. The air heated up, and I was no

longer satisfied with the angle of our bodies, so I grasped her hips and

started to lift her over to straddle me—

Bang!

I jerked back at the loud crack and Bailey’s muffled cry of pain as she

flopped back down beside me, cursing and rubbing her knee. She’d

obviously hit it on the wooden table.

“Well, that was smooth,” I drawled sarcastically, causing Bailey to giggle.

“How about we try that again?”

Bailey eyed the tabletop skeptically. “I hate to break it to you Casanova, but

I think the booth wins this round.” She glanced around as though just

remembering where we were. “Besides, I think the direction we were

headed was bound to end up with us getting arrested for public indecency.”

She laughed and shook her head ruefully.

“You’re right,” I agreed. “I’m a much bigger fan of private indecency.” I

leaned down and put my face in the crook of her neck, nibbling my way up

to her ear.  “How about we try this again somewhere else?”

Bailey tilted her neck, giving me better access to the column of her throat.

Damn, she tasted so fucking delicious.

“Um, what did you”—she gasped when I lightly bit her skin and grabbed

onto my biceps—“have in mind?”

I licked the spot and whispered, “My house. I live about ten minutes from

here.”

Her chin bumped my head when she nodded, and I sat back to make sure I

wasn’t assuming anything. Her pink lips were puffy and a little red from

rubbing against my scruff. She looked hot as hell.

“Bailey?”

There was uncertainty floating in her blue depths, a slight nervousness too.

I hesitated, worried that I’d misread the situation. She leaned forward and

dragged my bottom lip between her teeth, before letting it go and searing

me with her blazing eyes. “Ten minutes?” I nodded. “That’s an awfully long

time.”

I groaned, forgetting whatever it was I had been thinking and adjusted

myself, grabbed her hand, and hauled her up from the booth. I was hard as

a fucking rock and only sinking between her thighs was going to give me

any relief.

Mercy Denied: Trinity - Jacqueline M. Sinclair - Release Blitz!!

Merrick

She and her friend set me up.  Then they sent those pictures to my wife.  Little did they know that she’d already left me and that I was devastated and ready to self-destruct.  Because of her, I lost everything I ever wanted … the only hope I had.  Now I will risk everything I have left to destroy her.  It doesn't matter why she did it, that she was hurting, or even that she was drunk. It doesn't matter that she looks at me like she sees into my soul. Does it?

Trinity

Melanie was the one that’d sent those pictures to his wife, but it was me who’d told her to get her camera ready.  I’d been angry at my ex-fiance and took it out on Merrick, wanting to expose him for the cheater I thought he was.  I never dreamed it would go this far - that he would vow to destroy me. I’d take it all back if I could, but the damage is done.  My mother’s life’s work is at his mercy and he’s determined to make me feel the loss that I caused him.  Still, the way he looks at me I have to ask myself, did my poor choices wake the monster...or the man?

Other Books in the Series

Margaret Wilson is eighteen years old in 1969. The Vietnam War is raging. Her mother is dying and her father is drowning in pain. She is sheltered, religious and completely unprepared to fall in love with William Steele.

William has it all. A product of his family’s legendary reputation, he’s rich, reckless and known for pushing boundaries. He stands up to gossip by upping the ante, one rebellious night at a time.

The reality of his world sweeps away Margaret’s innocence and puts her in the middle of a place she’s never known. With William at her side, she can’t help but question her own boundaries and the temptation to ignore them is running high. Then, one night, one poor decision and Margaret becomes the one with everything to lose.

Will their young love be strong enough to hold it all together?

Jacqueline grew up in the rural southeast and is the youngest child of a large and rowdy family. Reading was an escape when there wasn't much else around to do. She loves everything from classical literature to true crime and everything in between. With her two children grown and gone, she's surrounded by a menagerie of adopted pets and a two-legged thief who refused to give her heart back after a night of karaoke.

With a day job and a dream job, her writing is a steamy combination of real life and seeking to answer the age-old question of what would happen if...and then characters come along and completely derail the plan. Letting them have their say provides plenty of sleepless nights and an endless combination of coffee and wine, but she hopes you enjoy their stories.

REVIEW - Fade by A.K Morgen

Title - Fade ( The Ragnarok Prophecies #1)

Author A.K Morgen

Synopsis

What do you do when you realize nothing in your life is what you’ve believed it to be?

When Arionna Jacobs loses her mother in a tragic accident, her world is turned upside down. She’s forced to leave her old life behind and move in with her father. Dace Matthews, a teaching assistant at her new college, is torn in two, unable to communicate with the feral wolf caged inside him.

When they meet, everything they thought they knew about life unravels. Dace has intimate access to Arionna’s mind, and something deep within her fights to rise to the surface. They don't understand what's happening to them or why, and they're running out of time to sort out the strange occurrences around them.

Their meeting sets an ancient Norse prophesy of destruction in motion, and what destiny has in store for them is bigger than either could have ever imagined. Unless they learn to trust themselves and one another, they may never resolve the mystery surrounding who they are to one another, and what that means for the world.

My Thoughts

This story, I don't even know what to say about it. I really liked that blurb. Anyone who knows my book habits knows that as far as PNR is concerned, I am a shifter lover. I'm also a massive fan of all things Norse so this seemed like a win win. It really wasn't.

Arionna is a young woman on the cusp of adulthood, starting college after her life has been turned upside down by the death of her father. Dace is a TA who stumbles across her and has an intense reaction. This is where the problems start.

Dace does not act like a professional, grown up with a job and adult feelings and thoughts. He behaves like an idiot with a serious attitude problem. Arionna for me was a brat who needed a serious reality check for someone her age. Everything for her willingness to just whore herself out to her language just screamed immature. hint everything "sucked" *gags*.

Unfortunately for me the Norse element was so late in the game I'd already lost all interest in it, which is a shame because when it came the detail was specific and descriptive and the kind of thing I had wanted all along. It just came too late.

So, the premise of fade is great, the story "behind it" is equally great, honestly the characters ruin it. I'd be quite happy if Id never read these two people and I'll quite happily forget them as soon as this review is posted. I just wish they had been better written and less awful people. These characters didn't deserve this plot.

As a general rule on this blog, we select a few of our favorite quotes for each book we review, but I have none here. Maybe if I wasnt so angry at the book itself, I would find something, but i'm so disappointed by it. I've never reviewed so low.

REVIEW - Bad Boy - J.C. Reed & Jackie Steele

TITLE: Bad Boy

AUTHOR: J.C. Reed & Jackie Steele

Synopsis:

I should have seen it coming. Sexy? Handsome? Trouble? Check, check, and check.
Is he messing up my life? Hell yes. All the signs are there: he is a bad boy.
Even his name is a lie. Too bad I married him. I can’t wait to get divorced.
Does this make me sound crazy?
I know I should avoid him, run as fast as I can. However, when a harmless misunderstanding lands me in a foreign prison cell, my dear, lying husband is the only one who can get me out. Crap. I shouldn’t accept.

But how to say no to trouble when said trouble is the one who makes me fantasize all the dirty things he could do to me?

My Review:

Bad boy is the third installment in the indecent proposal series. This book contains foul mouthed bad boys and a heroine who is in over her head. These books should be read in order otherwise it is very easy to get lost within the story. I speak from experience.

When I agreed to read this book for review, I didn't realize it was a part of a series. I started reading the book and thought that it was going to be formatted in a way that would reveal the missing pieces of the puzzle for me. About halfway through the book I decided to look the book up and realized it is part of a series. I went ahead and finished the book anyways.

With all of that being said, I enjoyed the writing style of the book. The authors did a good job explaining the situations and allowing the characters to interact with each other in an organic way. This story is told from the main character, Laurie, point of view. I really enjoyed being able to understand her way of thinking. By being able to read her thoughts we are able to see her change, while we also get a chance to see her funny side.

Boy oh boy there is plenty of heat in this story. While I was busy trying to catch up with the plot, there heat within the book kept me going. I love when authors are able to show the attraction between two characters in a way that the readers also feel it. I feel this book hit this nail right on the head.

The only thing I didn't like in this book was the fact that I was lost for most of it. This is not the author's fault and I cannot mark this book down because of it. I feel this book was written very well. I also did feel caught up by the end.

Overall, this was a well written book. It was obvious that the authors put a lot of thought into the plot and characters. I am planning to read the first two in this series in the future and then reread this book to better understand the plot.

Tonight I would fuck the blonde in the front row who continued to visually rip my clothes off with every little blink she took. Her tits were hanging out of her shirt and she licked her lips and batted her eyes at me. The set was nearing the end and I could feel her gaze. When I looked away and back at her, it was like her eyes had never left me. I liked when a woman knew what she wanted.

Blue and green lights flashed over the stage then washed across the crowd. When we made eye contact again, her tongue traced the outside of her plump bottom lip and at that moment I knew she was DTF. Her being down to fuck made this so much easier but then again, being the lead singer of the Band of Brothers made panties magically melt. I'd be her fantasy for the night. I'm sure there would be many more one night stands considering each show from Florida to New York, all the way to California was sold out.
The drums beat on as I screamed out the next few lyrics. "I won't let the world decide. I'll die before that happens."
The drums stopped and the distortion was cut leaving a melodic strum of Nikolas's guitar.
The lights faded when walked off stage leaving the crowd screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs. Jex, Nic, and Rex had huge smiles covering their faces as they chugged the water the technicians handed us. This would never get old. Moments like this were the ones we lived and worked for. Once the chanting and clapping rose to the maximum volume, the four of us walked back onstage and gave the fans what they wanted, an encore.
Green and yellow lights flashed over the crowd and smoke hovered at the bottom of the stage. We played three more songs. People sang and swayed to the lyrics and music. Some jumped up and down, feeling the full beat of the drums while others banged their heads. The feeling of having thousands of people chanting my words would never become real. More often than not, I felt like I was in a dream, one that I never wanted to wake from.
During the last song, I pointed to the blonde. By the way she was dressed in a tight pink shirt and a skirt that showed the bottom of her ass cheeks, I knew she wanted to be seen. She could have possibly had this night planned from the beginning. Randomly, I chose a few others from the crowd to join us, to dance in front of our audience, to feel the temporary power. It was something I did every show, every tour. It was a habit of sorts.
Security helped the girls climb on the stage and they lifted their arms and shook their asses. Before the song ended, the technicians led the girls' side stage as cannons of small fireworks shot from the floor. After the final song, my brothers and played the crowd and threw drumsticks and guitar picks. The yelling didn't stop for minutes and the audience realized we weren't coming back out. I walked side stage where girls anxiously waited us. I smiled, popping an eyebrow at my chosen woman for the night, and she instantly came to me. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and hers hung on my waist. My brothers stopped in the green room with the other girls, but Blondie and I walked to the bus.
"I'm Lindsey," she whispered in my ear before we reached the end of the hallway. I smiled at her and pushed open the exit door. Groupies and fans waited near the bus and as soon as we walked up they rushed it.
"I'll be out in a bit," I said, smiling at them with pearly whites. "My brothers are coming out that door over there. Really soon."
I hated to out their exit strategy, but I wanted to take my time burying my dick deep inside Misty or Christy or whatever the fuck her name was. It didn't matter. Names never did.

Our Review

I feel like I've waited so long for this, I have a little soft spot for Lyra Parish, she writes the perfect mix of super sexy, sweet, funny and drama. I've never finished one of her books feeling unfulfilled by what I've read and Ace is no different.

Ace is a rockstar, lead singer of the awesome Band of Brothers and one quarter of the super sexy Hathaway brothers. He's the illusive one, who sleeps with women and gives no fucks about anything. Except that's not really him, it's all an act he plays up to to keep everything and everyone at a distance. Until he meets photo journalist Elizabeth Riley. A normal girl who doesn't bow down to his every wim. She is everything he never knew he wanted.

Elizabeth Riley is an editor for a music magazine. Her boss decides to be a divvy and send her on tour with band of brothers to document what goes down. She's not prepared for everything thats about to happen, but she deals with it and gets on with the job at hand, a job it turns out she's quite good at. Until she meets Ace Hathaway, who rubs her up in all the wrong ways. And the right ways too.

There are so many things going on in this story, id be hear all day summarising, but at the centre of it, is a beautiful relationship built on a foundation of two people stepping out of their comfort zones and finding themselves right where they need to be. Ace and Elizabeth are hot together, they're sweet but their sarcasm and wit is what I find most endearing. They bounce off each other.
'  "Ace and easy don't go in the same sentence.""I think some people would disagree with that considering the reputation of your after show cool down. Maybe that could be the title of my next article? I think people would enjoy it, don't you?""Dare you."  '

Music is key to this story and I assume will be to the whole series. There is an accompanying soundtrack (how awesome is that) but also the songs that are mentioned in it are not random songs by some obscure band to make you feel like an idiot for never having heard of them. They're songs we all know and love and no word of I lie, midway through this book I stopped reading for a few minutes and went to download Eric Clapton's Wonderful tonight, coz I just had to listen to it while I was reading that scene.

If i'm 100 percent honest, This book did feel rushed, but that didn't take away from the story itself, and its the only negative I have to the whole book, so still a win and I'm really looking forward to getting to know the rest of the brothers (Especially Rex. He's mine)
"All of them had the prefect amount of sun-kissed skin, scruff, messy hair and chiseled faces. Looks that good should be illegal."
