REVIEW:

“Three books in one, 4 stars”

In Block and Tackle you get three short stories in one book. Three stories wrote by three completely different women, yet the stories are all tied together by having a sports player in each. 

The only thing I didn’t like is the fact I wanted more. They are killer short stories that I could easily see playing out as a full length novel. With that said I would still recommend Block & Tackle to someone looking for a light and easy read.

The first story is Offsides by Elise Faber. Here we get a retired Hockey player who realizes he’s in love with his temporary assistant. Once they finally cave into their desires life is good. Unless you take into account a psycho ex boyfriend who is stalking you and a crazy over protective full time assistant. Devon and Becca are walking a fine line, will they make it to the end?

Second story is Off Guard by Stephanie Fournet. Here we get a newly drafted football player and a fresh on the job PR girl. Sounds simple enough until you find out Hutch is signed through the agency Charlie works for and they have a strict no dating clients policy. It's a battle of wills and who will leave Prestige Media Group, but in the end do either have to give something up? Also with this story I feel like I should warn you it vaguely touches on eating disorders and not taking proper care of yourself. It wasn’t anything major but I know some readers are very sensitive on that subject.

Lastly, we have Off Limits by Kristin Vayden. This one definitely moved the fastest out of all three books. Markus has been in love with his best friend's twin sister Ava for years. They once got along but Bryce got hurt it ruined any chance of Markus finally getting Ava..or did it? Can a brothers blessing and some hard core persistence get Markus the only woman hes ever wanted? You'll have to read the book to find out.

“Let's talk about kink, 3 stars”

When you look up the definition of independent woman you see the heroine Rebecca. She helped her mother financially as a teenager and later became the breadwinner as an adult. 
Not a day has gone by where she had been taken care of..until she has a one night stand. She asked him to show her pleasure. Boy did he! But he was off limits.

Dante is a bad boy to the core. He knows what people want and how to deliver. As part of the public eye he's used to performing. When he loses three of the closest people to him he starts to go down a dark path, but a woman unknowingly pulls him back. Is he capable of love?

Dante and Becca have passion, an abundance of it. In Salvations Inferno you have a little BDSM, not much but enough. Dante and Becca know how to burn up the sheets. I never thought I’d say this but it was almost too much. 

Becca is independent but insecure, almost to the point it cripples her. Around every corner she's second guessing herself and it was annoying. Poor Dante didnt know how to react. 

The book had heat, but lacked the little moments. The moments that actually make up the relationship. It was almost as if the author sped through those moments, so I couldn’t connect or become attached to the characters. I found it really disappointing. And it was one hurtle after another. The twists the book did have were crazy in a good way though. Maybe its just me but I wish the book had a little less bedroom and second guessing and a little more laughter and happiness.

Oh My Wow! What can I say about Wanted? It sure surprised the heck out of me not just once, not even twice, but three fricking times! Man I sure wasn’t expecting a book like this one. This book has love, brotherhood, family, grief, and lots and lots of steam. I am honestly hoping this author writes another book for these characters because I just couldn’t get enough.

Okay so I am going to start by saying I thought this book was about something completely different when I agreed to review it. Surprise one was that it was WAY different than what I expected. I was skeptical at first because this book is outside my norm. Boy oh boy am I glad I kept reading it though. I don’t want to give away much so I will just say this about the plot. This story is about more than what you think it is. The story itself is such a beautiful and wonderful one if you look into the meaning behind it all. I loved this about this book. Surprise two and three would give away important parts of the book, but let’s just say I was damn surprised by the ending.

There isn’t just two main characters in this book. There are five. Now that seems like a lot, but it was actually done quite wonderfully. It gives us a chance to get to know each character and learn to fall for each of them. I loved Finn. She is such a wonderful character. She has real life insecurities, but still has sass and is a strong woman. I loved her character. Then you have the boys, Pink, Toxic, Tug, and Charge. I loved each one of these characters. While each of these characters play a main part, you find out quickly that two of them play a bigger part than the rest.

Heat? Oh my was there tons and tons of heat. I felt my cheeks blush each time I got to some of the steamy parts. Whew was it hot. My husband at one point took one look at my face and ask me what kind of book I was reading to make me turn that read. With all this being said, I think this part was done perfectly. I did not feel any of the scenes seemed inorganic or forced. I felt every scene had a specific purpose to the story.

The writing style of this book is unique. Most of the book is told from Finn’s point of view. We also get parts of the story from each of the boys as well. The pace was steady, but not too slow or fast. I liked the way the author wrote. My only complaint is I wish I could have read more during some of the time lapses in the book. There are certain scenes I would have loved to have read that were missing. While this did not take away from the book, it would have been an added bonus for readers.

Overall, I loved this book. I cannot even believe how much I fell in love with these characters. I really can’t wait to read more from this author and hopefully in the future she will write more about these amazing characters. 100% would recommend this book to others.

Heather Hildenbrand is a genius! Inheritance is the second book in her Heartline series and let me tell you, it is amazing! It is full of action and mystery and ties into her other series, Dirty Blood. While this series can be read without reading her other series, I suggest you read book one or you will be lost. I loved this book and cannot wait for the next book in the series.

The plot of this book follows right along with book one. This book starts a little bit after the end of book one. This book hits a lot of milestones needed to effectively progress the story. I love the plot of this book. There is mystery and romance tied up nicely with self-discovery. Honestly, I love all of these themes and to have them put together really makes a perfect book for me personally.

The characters in this book are just as wonderful as they were. We also get to meet some new characters as well. Sam has developed a lot since the first book. She is an amazing and strong character. Alex is just as stubborn as always, but he has also developed quite a bit. Let me tell you though, Alex is one heck of a book boyfriend. I love how strong he is, even if he makes decisions without input from others sometimes. I also loved the minor characters in this book. I really hope they get some more story time for themselves.

While the first book was steamy, this book kicked the heat up 100 degrees! Man oh man does this book have a lot of heat. I love the tension between characters. When a writer is good at what they do, they make the chemistry feel real for readers. I could feel the tension and chemistry flying off the pages at me.
The author has a wonderful writing style. I love the way she writes the characters specifically. Sam is a wonderful and feisty character, but is still compassionate and fierce. I loved how the author wrote her character. I also loved the pace of the book. It is a steady pace, allowing time for the readers to slowly uncover new information and have time to process and digest.

Overall, this is a wonderful book. If you are looking for a book with a lot of action and mystery this is the book for you. If you like books with some romance, this book is also for you. Finally, if you like books about self-discovery, then this whole series is for you. This is a wonderful book with a lot of different paranormal aspects perfect for any paranormal romance lover.

Say it Again is a great second chance story. This book has some humor and lighthearted fun. This story also goes over some more serious topics as well. This book has a lot of interesting characters. I really enjoyed the overall theme of this book.

The plot of this book I really enjoyed. I really like second chance romances. There is something about past lovers finding their way back to each other that warms the heart. I loved that about this book. These characters spent years a part but the chemistry is still tangible when they meet up again.

The characters were wonderful as well. I loved Cameron. She seemed like a real girl with real baggage. I loved how she said that trust had to be earned and that once trust was broken it was hard to get back. That really resonated with me.  She is a wonderful character. Jacob was a pretty good character as well. Jacob has a lot going on in his life, but he still makes time for Cameron. I really liked that about him.

The heat in this book is palpable. These two characters have a lot of tension between them. I loved watching their interactions with each other. Cameron was especially interesting because she was playing hard to get even though she could feel the chemistry between the two. Jacob, on the other hand, is a strong alpha male who knows what he wants. This translates into some delicious heat on the pages.

The writing style is really the only area I felt could be improved. The pace of this book was a bit fast. I also felt there was some parts of the story that occurred a little quicker than I feel would be natural. I also found Jacob to be a little bit much sometimes. While an alpha male can be hot, you don’t want it venturing too far into the possessiveness because then it can come off as controlling. With that being said, mostly I enjoyed this book.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. There could have been improvements, but the book is fairly well as it is now. I would recommend this book to friends who love a good second chance romance. I also would like to see another book about two of the minor characters. I feel it would give us an update on these characters while also exploring these minor characters as main characters.
