ABOUT MR. BIG

Once upon a time, I had everything: money, power, a multimillion-dollar company, a loving family. Well, at least I thought I had everything. Then my parents died, and I found out my whole life was based on a lie. That’s pretty much the moment when I went numb. Told the world to f*** off and went on a bender of epic proportion, just to see how far I could fall before I hit rock-bottom.

Now I’m back and all I want in this world is my morning—okay, afternoon—coffee. Then one of my employees has the nerve to call me out for cutting the line at the coffeehouse at the company I own. Sure, I’m a little scruffier than usual, but come on, bitching out the CEO? Not a smart career move. Just who does this smart-mouthed ball-buster think she is? And more important, what do I have to do to get her number?

Holland O’Dell may be uptight, but I wouldn’t mind taking her back to my place and ripping off that business-casual blouse/skirt combo and burying myself in her curves. She pushes my buttons, but at least I’m feeling something. And whatever it is, I won’t stop until I get more.

Advance praise for Mr. Big

Mr. Big is the kind of smart, sexy delight that every woman deserves to read! [Delancey] Stewart will make you believe in true love in this steamy, heart-wrenching tale.”USA Today bestselling author Sierra Simone

Our Review:

“Unexpected love, 5 stars”

Sometimes life gets a little too real. Sometimes when it gets to be a little too much you find yourself drifting, lost, and maybe slightly crazy. That is where Oliver finds himself.  First, he was on a journey of self-discovery, then when his parents died he was bombarded with truths he rather not acknowledge.

When he sees Holland one day, everything starts to come back into focus, so he does what any dude would do, he gets to know her. What happens when you find happiness in one area of your life but do nothing to repair the other parts?

Holland has a three-step plan for how she wants her life to go and meeting a guy is not until step two, she’s still on one. But what happens if you can mix one and two? Holland has a big plan on how to work her way up the company she works for when a handsome stranger offers his help she accepts only to find out he’s the CEO of the company she works for.

When the plan turns out better then she expected and she gets everything she ever wanted will it be enough? What happens if life throws Oliver and Holland another curve ball.

I adored Oliver and Holland. They made an awesome team. I do wish we would have gotten more of them as a couple. They were both fighting their own battles and it was holding them back from being together. With that said it was still a sweet story.

Here are two quotes I enjoyed from Mr. Big;

“The plan had defined me for so long, directed my choices and my path. But the best things in my life hadn’t been planned at all. Maybe it was time for a new plan.”

“Don’t distract yourself worrying about the details. They might change, anyway, and none of that will matter if the other things are solid.”

Release Blitz - Shift - Staci Hart

Shift by Staci Hart
Publishing Date:  August 24th, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Synopsis:

Even the gods cannot betray the will of the stars.

It’s been a hundred years since she’s warmed my bed, a hundred years spent waiting for her. Now we’ll compete again in a game that matters little to me. But my prize is far greater than a token to be paid for a favor — I want her.

And for the first time in a very long time, I have the chance to keep her.

Because now the ground has shifted, tilted in my favor, and with her footing unsteady, she will fall.

I will catch her.

This time, I won’t let go.

Excerpt:

ARES
The city stretched up like quartz against the fading sunlight, the colors of the sky deepening with every second that slipped by. Ares’s eyes were on the horizon, slashed with the darkening skyscrapers at the southern tip of Manhattan, but his mind was a thousand years behind him, and her face filled the space in between.
They were Mars and Venus. Man and woman. Ares and Aphrodite. The bond between them was unbreakable, undeniable, no matter how she had tried to reject it, tried to stay away. She’d never quite succeeded. She never would.
Even the gods could not betray the will of the stars.
It had been a hundred years since she warmed his bed, a hundred years of waiting for her. Now they would compete again in a game that mattered little to him. His prize was far greater than a token to be paid for a favor — he wanted her. And for the first time in a very long time, he had a chance to keep her.
Adonis had been in the way far too long — even murdering the human hadn’t removed him from the equation — but now the ground had shifted, tilted in Ares’s favor, and with Aphrodite’s footing unsteady, she would fall.
He would catch her.
This time, he wouldn’t let go.
Ares had already chosen his human player, and soon he would make his way down to the throng of gods who waited for the game to begin. She would be there. She would make her choice, and the fire between them would ignite as it always did — first with a spark, then a flicker. Then, she would be consumed, and so would he.
It would be the same as it ever was, and he was so starved for her, his body tensed from head to heart to heel in anticipation of what was to come.
From a hundred years down to a few days, the distance traveled worth every second of longing, and with every moment that passed, the stars moved closer to alignment and to his favor. And there was nothing she could do to fight it.
He’d see to that.

About the Author
Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey.

From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

BLURB:

Thais Fenwick was eleven-years-old when civilization fell, devastated by a virus that killed off the majority of the world’s population. For seven years, Thais and her family lived in a community of survivors deep in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. But when her town is attacked by raiders, she and her blind sister are taken away to the East-Central Territory where she is destined to live the cruel and unjust kind of life her late mother warned her about.
Atticus Hunt is a troubled soldier in Lexington City who has spent the past seven years trying to conform to the vicious nature of men in a post-apocalyptic society. He knows that in order to survive, he must abandon his morals and his conscience and become like those he is surrounded by. But when he meets Thais, morals and conscience win out over conformity, and he risks his rank and his life to help her. They escape the city and set out together on a long and perilous journey to find safety in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Struggling to survive in a world without electricity, food, shelter, and clean water, Atticus and Thais shed their fear of growing too close, and they fall hopelessly in love. But can love survive in such dark times, or is it fated to die with them?

EXCERPT: “And you ask why?”

“Why are you so angry, Atticus?” My voice was soft and concerned now.
He blinked, but offered no response.
“I’ve seen men fight before,” I went on, “but I’ve never seen a man as angry at the world as you are. The way you beat that man in your room”—I shook my head with despondency—“the one just now; Atticus, you’re just so full of rage and hate. Why?”
He snorted, as if he’d found my question ridiculous.
Why?” he mocked incredulously, holding out his hands, palms up. “I’ll tell you why, Thais: at every turn someone wants to rob or maim or kill us; we can’t sleep, night or day, without the thought in our heads as we close our fucking eyes that we might not wake up.” He gestured his arms wildly, his features constricted with indignation. “We’re covering our shit up like animals, sleeping in ditches, watching over our shoulder every second of every day for the chaos to grab us by the ankles and pull us down with it—and you ask why?”
I sat against my quilt, unable to stand to hear this truth. And as if his movements depended on mine, Atticus fell into a crouch in front of me, bouncing on the toes of his boots. I never looked away from the pull of his gaze, trapped by the intensity of it.
“I haven’t slept since you arrived in Lexington City,” he went on. “When I saw you that day, clutching your sister as she was ripped away from you; when you lay on the sidewalk, begging me to help you—it did two things to me, Thais”—he held up two fingers, and then dropped them between his legs—“it fucking killed me; the things I had to do, the part I had to play in not only your fate, but the fate of every girl in those ropes—it fucking killed me! It killed what little was left of my humanity!” His voice had risen with his heated words, his memories, but then he paused to calm himself, lowering his head but for a moment.
I remained motionless, speechless, but my heart began to ache and fill up at the same time. I listened raptly to every word, my heart breaking as he spoke them.
“It killed me,” he repeated. “But then something reached into Hell, grabbed me by the throat and pulled me back. I died that day in the street, Thais Fenwick; I died and then there I was, looking down at you with the eyes of the man I used to be, and I wanted to help you. I still fought with myself after that, but I wasn’t going to let you die or be raped or forced to marry a man you didn’t love—I didn’t know what to do, but I was going to do something, goddammit.”

I sighed. I wanted to hold him, but all I could do was sigh.

REVIEW - Fighting for your love - Nikki Ash

Title: Fighting for your Love
Author: Nikki Ash

Blurb:

Kaden
I fell in love once and it was amazing. Until it wasn't. I swore to protect her. Until I didn't. I swore to love her forever. Until forever came too soon.
After I lost her, I swore I would never fall in love again. Until I met Ashley.

Ashley
I depended on a man once. Until he walked out. I gave him my everything. Until he left me and our son with nothing. From then on I knew the only person I could depend on was myself. Until I met Kaden.

I'm not sure when or how it happened, but Kaden has embedded himself into my life, stealing my heart. Sounds like a good thing, right?

Wrong! Because while Kaden has my heart locked and secure, his heart was given to a woman who can't give it back.

Now I am fighting for his love, hoping he can leave his past behind him and find a future with me.

Review:

Fighting For Your Love by Nikki Ash

“Friends to lovers, 5 star”

This is the fourth book Fighting Series, you don’t have to read the three books before but I recommend it. This is Kaden and Ashley’s story, a story I have wanted for a while now. All it did was make me want the next book in the series.

Kaden is a love em and leave em kind of guy. He did love once but it ended horribly leaving him jaded. The person who really brought him back to the land of the living is his best friend Ashley. But there are two problems being with her and her son makes him feel guilty and he’s never told her his secret. When he finds out Ashley is in trouble he tries to solve her problems, only she is no shrinking violet. What happens when you wake up one day and realize you’re in love with your best friend? Do you move on it or stand by a pledge you made in the past?

Ashley has never had luck when it comes to men. He son’s dad was the worst of them all. When she finds herself in a tight spot she finds herself doing something she never thought she would only for things to keep spiraling out of control. Thankfully Kaden grounds her but other than emotional support from him she won’t accept anything else. She knows she’s in love with her best friend but knows he will never let it happen…but what happens if he does return those feelings?

I loved how strong-willed Ashley was. Tristan her son was adorable. Kaden had his moments like most hero’s do. This is definitely a friend to lover’s story with some twists on both sides I never saw coming that put them in sticky situations. But through it all they didn’t really waver. Kaden is protective and loveable even if he doesn’t think he is. I adore the group and can’t wait for Bella’s story. The only thing I “didn’t” like is in the beginning it was a little too much fill in on who people were for me when I already knew them. Although I get where it would be good for someone who has never read a previous story in the series.

Review:

Hot sexy shifters with lots of action? Sign me up! I loved Destiny Disgraced. This story has a lot of action and a bit of romance to keep all readers happy. This book can be read by itself, but it is obvious that there has been stories before this. I do not feel I missed out by not reading those other stories, but know that they discuss events from those other stories.

It is always refreshing to get a new and unique take on shifter novels. I liked that this author took what we know about shifters and put her own twist on it. This was an interesting story. The plot was not what I expected. I like how while there was a lot in this story about the romance between the two characters, there was also a major storyline going on. I like when books have substance, and this story has plenty of it.

Mitchell is such an interesting character. He has this dark and broody attitude that is honestly such a draw for women. We like to think we can make him less broody. He has a lot of emotional baggage though. He has stuff he needs to work through in order to become who he needs to be. Dawn has her own past to overcome, but it is not really her personal baggage. She has a stigma to overcome. I can say that I think that we get all caught up in stigma and I like how she related this in her book to the shifters.

Attraction is at its finest in this book. These two shifters can’t help their attraction to each other. There is plenty of heat in this book. The author did an amazing job of making each scene feel organic to the story and characters. I especially love the beginning scenes between these two. Fighting attraction is not an easy thing to convey properly into words, but this author did an amazing job.

I love the authors writing style. I feel this author is unique in the fact that the story is mostly told from dual points of views, but she also tells the story from a couple other characters as well throughout the story. I also love that these breaks are clearly labeled and it is obvious that you are reading from another characters point of view. I also felt the book was properly paced with a nice and steady pace. I can see this series continuing on.

Overall, I loved this book. Shifter books always entertain me, but this one was unique from all the rest. I liked how the author took a common plot and made it her own. I sometimes feel I read a story and it is so similar to others I have read that I cannot separate them. This is not the case with this book. I would recommend this to others.

Review:

AHHHHHH SERIOUSLY ONE OF THE BEST SERIES I HAVE READ THIS YEAR! I loved the first book in this series, but this second book blew it right out of the water. Give me more Drav! This book does end in a cliff hanger as it is part of a series, but trust me you will not regret starting this series. This series is such a unique and fresh take on the world as we know it and an apocalypse. I promise you have not read anything like it before!

The plot of this book is a bit different than the first, but there is still a main overall plot that will obviously be played out over the entire series. There is a location change in this book from the second. There are also TONS of revelations in this book that are needed in order to further the plot along. I cannot say too much without giving anything away, but let me just say to the authors, I LOVE where you took me and I CAN’T wait for where we are going.

Drav and Mya are amazing characters. They developed quite a bit in the first book, but they are not done developing yet. While they did develop in this book as well, they still have a long way to go. I think what I love most about these characters is that they don’t let their differences cause hate or anger between them. Instead they try to learn from it. I think this is how we all should be when facing something new or different.

There is a bit more heat in this book than there was in the first book. My face was sure heated while reading these scenes. I think that this portion of the book is so important to the story. The authors integrated these scenes in flawlessly to add depth to the story.

These authors write as if they are one. Seriously, I forget that two authors even wrote this book together that’s how seamless the book seems. The pace of this book is steady just like the last and adds a lot to the overall story. I will say the cliff hanger left me screaming and wanting to throw my book (okay so my phone) against a wall. Not because I was angry but because I have just GOT to know what happens next. So great job for making me want…. No NEED more!

Overall, I am in love with this series. I love that it is so original that I cannot even really compare it to other books. The revelations are shocking and I have reason to believe they will keep on coming. I would and have recommended this series to my friends. My only question is how quick is the next one out? I need it NOW!
