The Untouchables. That’s what everyone calls them. At least, it’s my best friend’s nickname for them. And since she’s the only one that talks to me at my new school, I’ll take her word for it.

The nickname probably comes from the fact that they’re exorbitantly wealthy. Old wealth. The kind that isn’t flaunted around. But you can tell by the way they carry themselves. Or maybe the name just refers to the fact that they’re so beautiful it’s almost hard to look at them.

No matter the reason for their nickname, it’s an ironic one. Because I’ve only been going to this school for a week and I already want to touch.

 Jennifer's Review
Teenage drama at its finest! Empire High Untouchables is the perfect mix between Gossip Girl and The Fosters. It has the uptown, pretentious feel of Gossip Girl while also having all the teen drama of living with a surrogate parent and fitting into a new school. If you like either of these, you will love this book.

The plot of this book was great. I loved the mystery and intrigue in this book. The main characters are dynamic with great backgrounds. I feel the love triangle in this book as well. I really hope we get to see all these minor characters get their own stories.

Overall, 5 amazing stars from me! Cannot wait for the next book!

Release + Review - Nerdy Little Secret - Carrie Aarons

I’m sleeping with the nerd.

The nice guy.
The science geek who wears periodic table t-shirts around campus.

That’s my dirty little secret, but it began long before he unknowingly transferred to the same college I attend. We met at the summer camp I was mandated to work at, and our hush-hush affair started behind the kayak cabin and in the darkened canteen long after our respective campers went to sleep.

When Mick Barrett, rockstar name a complete red herring, enrolls at Salem Walsh University, we’re both shocked the first time we bump into each other. And he’s … surprisingly cold. With goals and secrets of his own, Mick is closed off and uninterested, something I’ve never encountered from the opposite sex.

My bruised ego has no time to recover, however, when he discovers the real secret I’m keeping, one that’s even more detrimental than our steamy summer fling. Agreeing to become my tutor, and help me save my future, the glasses-wearing swimmer, with the body of an Olympian under that punny math sweatshirt, begins to grow on me. Again.

Except we both have bigger things to focus on than sneaking around. Plus, we’re not made for each other. He’s aiming to be the next doctor of our generation, while I’m just hoping to survive my Saturday morning hangover.

Too bad our bodies, and hearts, start to believe otherwise.
Which has me questioning; can my dirty little secret become a happily ever after?

Johnaka's Review
Unexpected surprise, 3 stars

I usually love Aaron's stories but Nerdy Little Secret was a little too cliche for me. I wanted to strangle the heroine around 90% of the time. She just drove me crazy. I'll say it, I think the hero deserved someone else. He just had his stuff together way more than the did. It was like night and day. If you like stories where image is everything, look no further.

Things I want to do before I die:
Go to a club
Get drunk
Kiss a stranger
Go on a mission trip

I’m drowning. Trapped beneath my mother’s expectations. Suffocated by my religious upbringing.
My life has been full of well-crafted decisions—none of them made by me.

On the outside I play by the rules, but on the inside... I have dreams. A list. A tattered scrap of paper tucked away from the world, only I know about.

Some items were easy to check off. Others, though, will require me to take a huge leap out of my comfort zone.

One night changes everything. While at the club for my birthday, so I could check off another item on my list, I did something I never imagined I would have the guts to do: I got drunk and kissed a stranger.

What I wasn't prepared for was how that one kiss would change the course of my life, making me realize life is more than a list to be checked off. It’s about living in the moment so you don’t miss the ones not on the list—the ones you didn’t even know you wanted.

Johnaka's Review

“oh Ash, 5 stars”

I loved Before I Die. Ash is one of those authors for me I instantly one click; I don’t even bother to read the blurb. So going into Before I Die, I had zero expectations and Ash killed me. Nevaeh is loyal and innocent to a fault. Ethan is alpha and a little dangerous. They never should have worked together, but they did. Oh, did they. When they fell, they fell hard no matter what those around them thought. If you want a story that will hit you in the feels, look no further.

Release + Review - Southern Sunrise - Natasha Madison

Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South

Emily
I fell in love with him when I was fourteen. Under the stars, he told me he loved me, and under the stars we promised to love each other always. But under the stars, he broke my heart by walking away.

He left me without a second glance. I was just an afterthought.
Now he's back, but this time, I'm not falling for his Southern charm.

Maybe.

It’s time I get my happily ever after, even if part of me wishes he was still mine.

Ethan
I found out on my twenty-first birthday that everything I thought I knew was a lie, and the man I had grown up thinking was my father wasn't.

The pain I felt blinded me, making it impossible to hear what anyone said.
I left them all behind, including her, my best friend and the woman I was going to marry.

Five years later, I'm back, only to find the woman I still love has another man's ring on her finger.

She’s going to marry my best friend unless I stop her. And this time, I only have until sunrise to change her mind.

Louise's Review

Hold on for dear life because this one is a rollercoaster; your emotions are going to be wrecked. Southern Sunrise is book 4 in the ‘Southern’ series and it has it all.

Ethan had it all planned out but on his 21st birthday everything he ever knew was torn apart; creating a new life for himself he left everyone behind, even the one he loves the most. Emily has moved on, she is engaged and ready to start the next chapter of her life, its been years she shouldn’t love him anymore, should she?

Ethan broke so many lives when he left; he has a long way to go for forgiveness; can he tick every name off that list?

Right, Madison you slayed me with this book; I have loved the previous 3 books but this was on a whole new level. Ethan’s character has been a constant throughout the series and getting his emotional story has been the best yet; it was so great to catchup with the other ‘Southern’ characters.

I look forward to what’s next!

“Curve ball Madison! 5 stars”

Okay, so I’ve had months to think about what I thought could possibly happen in Southern Sunrise thanks to the book before (you don’t need to read it but I recommend it). Honestly, I was on pins and needles. So, I get Southern Sunrise and Madison blew me away. If you want a killer second chance, southern first love romance look no further.

Ethan thought he knew who he was, but one piece of paper shattered his whole identity. He didn’t know who he was. If you don’t love yourself how can you love someone else? One person’s actions sent Ethan into a tailspin and changed everyone’s lives. Now Ethan is back. Will he be able to make amends? Only one way to find out.

Release + Review - One Perfect Touch - Layla Hagen

In business circles, I’m known for being cutthroat and demanding. Robert Dumont is a hardass, they say. And it’s true. I thrive on challenges. Taking the family-owned restaurant chain to the next level is my passion.

When my sister’s marriage implodes, I head back to New York, to be there for her and my niece. These are my only two priorities: growing the business and taking care of my family.

My new neighbor is a temptation I hadn’t counted on. Skye Winchester is bold, sensual and I just can’t keep my distance. I’m determined to make her mine. But once I’ve touched her, I want more. I want to worship her all night long.

As a business owner herself, Skye’s got enough on her plate. I was expecting her to run in the opposite direction when she realizes how complicated my life is. Instead, she does the opposite: making my sister laugh, charming my niece… She completely wins me over.

Neither of us expected our attraction to grow until it obscures everything but each other.
And neither of us can afford to allow that. But how can we stop now?

Johnaka's Review

“Unexpected love, 5 stars"

The chemistry between Robert and Skye was undeniable. Robert moved home to help his sister pick up the pieces after her marriage implodes. Skye is busy trying to get her business in a good place. What she wasn’t expecting was for her good deed to lead to love. Robert and Skye were fun. They made one another step back and put the work aside. Skye has a big in your face family that you cannot help but love. Robert’s sister and niece are amazing in their own right and well, 5 stars.

Release + Review - Waiting for Forever - Jessica Prince

When that day finally came, she was convinced all her dreams had come true. But after giving her everything she’d ever hoped for, he’d ripped it all away with a handful of words.
Leo’s made a lot of mistakes in his life, but the one he regrets most is hurting Danika. Johnaka's Review
“Girl next door, 5 stars”

Danika always noticed the guy next door. Always wanted him. But much like that T-Swift song she was the geeky girl and he was the homecoming king. But now as adults things have changed. He no longer has the homecoming queen on his arm, she’s come out of her shell. When Leo starts making moves its like Danika is that girl all over again. The odds are stacked against them, the question is will they make it?

I loved Danika and Leo. I wanted them together. I wanted to strangle Leo’s ex. I loved everyone else that they surrounded themselves around. If Hope Valley was a real place it would be where I want to settle down. If you haven’t taken a chance on this series yet, do it now. You won’t regret it.

We were both sweaty and panting like we’d just run a marathon. Releasing my breast and hip, he reached for my hands and gently pried my fingers from the headboard. I would have collapsed onto the mattress in a sated heap had it not been for him holding on to me and guiding me down slowly.
Once there, he turned me to my back and hovered over me, his fingers coming up to brush the damp hair from my forehead.
“You okay, sweetheart?”
I gazed up at him, sure my grin was totally goofy as I replied, “So okay.”
The harshness that had been carved into his expression when he first entered the room was now completely gone, in its place was a look so tender and so warm it made my heart expand.
“Thank you for that,” he said quietly, leaning in to run the tip of his nose along mine.
“Pretty sure I’m the one who should be thanking you. After all, you did most of the heavy lifting.”
He chuckled for a second before his expression grew serious. “I mean it, Danika. I needed that. I needed you. That’s the brand of sweet only you’re capable of giving me because it’s just how you are.”
It had to be said that I really liked hearing that in a seriously big way

Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That’s why God created central air, after all.
Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy–she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.
In addition to being a wife and mom, she’s also a wino, a coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books–romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it’s a passion…there’s a difference. Not that she’d expect a boy to understand.
Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.

It wrecks me and sends me fleeing.
But the man I married doesn’t give up so easily.
He proves that nothing will stand in the way of us and shows that I’m his forever.

Louise's Review

Slip Up is book 3 in the standalone Taking Chances series; a romance with a side of heartbreak.

Amelia was spending her 21st birthday in sin city, but when she wakes up married to a very sexy race car driver things don’t go as planned. Declan has strong views about marriage, he doesn’t know what made him finally tie the knot but when he gets back to his room to find out she is nowhere to be found. Continued interference stops them from finding each other, when Amelia and Declan find their balance the unthinkable happens leaving their future hanging by a thread.

I personally LOVED this story; it was swoon worthy and it was also heartbreaking. Matson is a new to me author and she had me hook line and sinker. I cannot wait to get my hands on more from Matson in the future.
