Blog Tour + Review - Waste My Time - Kelsey Clayton

Waste My Time, an all-new emotional and angsty new adult romance from Kelsey Clayton, is available now!

My name is Easton Donovan,

and I massively screwed up.

I should’ve given her the world.

Should’ve been everything she deserves.

Instead, I broke her like every promise I’ve ever made.

The darkness tells me to let her go.

Memories of my past keep me from letting her in.

Someone should tell her that loving me is a losing game.

Just being around her is a high I’ve never known.

If she knows what’s good for her, she’ll cut me off.

Given the chance, I’ll ruin her the way I’ve done to others.

But with the bomb she just dropped, she’s here to stay.

She’s flawless innocence.

I’m toxic destruction.

And the selfish part is, I need her.

Truth be told, Kennedy Lehigh could be the one to save me from myself.

Louise's Review

Waste My Time is the 4th and final book in the North Haven University books; I have loved every second reading these books and I am sad to see it come to an end. Easton and Kennedy’s book was a fantastic story one that I read in 1 go, I couldn’t put it down. These characters have been through hell and I felt like I was holding my breathe for most of the book, just when you think you have things figured out, bam another curve ball.

Easton has been around since the beginning and his character hasn’t always been given the greatest reputation. You know when someone continues to say things that are stupidly inappropriate or insensitive? Well let’s just say, I wanted to hit Easton over the head several times after he stuffed up! I cannot wait to read more from Kelsey in the future and fall in love with a whole new set of characters.

Excerpt

Walking through campus, I keep my head down. The Advil has done as much for my headache as the saltine crackers the school nurse gives you for a broken arm. If there's one thing I don't want right now, it's to make small talk with some shithead who thinks we're friends simply because Z and I throw the best parties.

My only mission is to get to my class, where I can fall back asleep listening to the monotone voice of my professor as he drones on about the fundamentals of programming and problem solving. And yet, when I get most of the way there, I quite literally crash right into someone else.

Books fly out of the girl’s hand and land among mine on the ground.

“I'm so sorry,” I say, but as I look up, I notice Kennedy staring back at me.

Shit.

I've been trying to stay out of her way. I mean, Tessa found happiness after me, and then I practically destroyed her by trying to get her back. I'd rather die than do the same thing to Kennedy, so if she's happy with Alec, I'll force myself to be happy for her.

She stares back at me, clearly in shock as I quickly pick up her books and hand them to her. As she takes them from me, our hands touch, and my body reacts to the feel of her skin on my own.

The same way it always has.

The same way it always will.

Seeing her now, my body hurts—literally yearns to pull her back into my arms and just hold her there, never letting her go. But I can't let myself do that. Not anymore.

I go to walk away, to leave her alone like I swore to myself I would, but she stops me with a call of my name.

“I actually need to talk to you about something,” she says with a sigh.

The air around me feels too thick, standing here with her, but I swallow it down. “Everything okay?”

“Uh, yeah. I guess,” she mutters, looking anywhere except back at me. “I, uh...fuck.”

A part of me wonders if she's just trying to keep me around. Keep my attention on her. Like ignoring her the past week was drawing her back to me. But if I've learned anything the last week, it's that she's better off without me.

Where I can't ruin her life.

Letting out a huff, I know I'm going to hate myself for this. “Can you just say what it is you want to say? I have places to be.”

She narrows her eyes at me. “It's not that simple.”

“Sure it is. Your mouth forms words, and you say them,” I spit. “Just tell me.”

“Easton,” she breathes, and I'm even more sure she just wants to keep me here as long as possible.

I roll my eyes. “Fuck it, then. I've got to go.”

“I'm pregnant,” she announces, freezing up as she realizes the way she just blurted out that crucial information. “According to the doctor, about twelve weeks.”

Her words hit me right in the chest.

Pregnant.

She's pregnant.

And twelve weeks means it's mine. There's no way it can't be, unless she cheated. No. Kennedy is a lot of things, but a cheater is not one of them. That only leaves one person to be the father.

Me.

“Y-you're...”

Everything starts to spin as the reality sets in that I'm going to be a father. The nausea from my hangover builds in my throat and threatens to bubble over. I try to hold it back. Try to keep it in. But there's nothing I can do.

It all happens in a millisecond. I attempt to turn away but she puts her hand on my arm, keeping me in place as she looks at me in bewilderment.

I'm stuck.

There's nowhere to go.

Nothing I can do.

And that's when it goes wrong.

I bend over, emptying the contents of my stomach all over the ground and Kennedy's favorite pair of boots. She gasps, holding her books close to her chest and not looking down for a moment. She doesn't need to. It’s no mystery as to what just happened.

“Fuck,” I groan. “Kennedy, I am so sorry.”

“It's fine,” she snips, showing it's most definitely not fine.

As she takes a step away, I stop her. “At least let me help you clean up.”

“No,” she barks. “Trust me. You've done enough.”

With that, she practically runs back toward her dorm, not sparing so much as a glance back at me.

I fucked up again.

Release + Review - The Grumpy Player Next Door - Pippa Grant

An enemies-to-lovers / sports / grumpy-sunshine / neighbor romance

I, Tillie Jean Rock, am not in love with my brother’s teammate. Sure, he might have those biceps and that “I am the grouchiest of grouchy bears” smolder, and he might shovel snow off his driveway next door wearing nothing but boxer shorts and rubber boots, and he might be running a side business feeding all the stray goats in town, but studliness is only skin-deep.

And I might flirt with him every chance I get, but I swear it’s only to annoy my brother.

And him.

Because Max Cole?

Under all of those glorious muscles and chiseled cheekbones and searing glares beats the heart of a heartless devil.

I could no sooner fall in love with a guy who treats me like a kid, and judges me at every opportunity, and sets an army of garden gnomes loose on my yard, than I could fall in love with my grandfather’s pet parrot.

But I can definitely annoy him. I can one hundred percent get on board with annoying him.

That’s what you do when you don’t like your neighbor, right?

But you know what they say about love and hate…

It’s a very thin line.

Especially when the real reason I’m not in love with Max Cole—that he’s incapable of love—might not be true at all.

The Grumpy Player Next door is a fun-filled enemies-to-lovers romcom featuring a ray of sunshine on a mission, an athlete who’s only grouchy around her, and an epic prank gone wrong. It stands alone and comes complete with small-town shenanigans, a goat who’s not nearly as wise as his name suggests, and proof that sometimes, love is the best kind of vengeance.

Johnaka's Review
“Laugh out loud, 5 stars”

If I haven’t said it before, I’ll say it now. Pippa Grant writes the best rom-coms. Somehow she delivers these crazy stories that make you laugh out loud. They seem outrageous yet you can picture everything happening clearly. Once again she gives us an opposites attract story with a grumpy dude and a too happy for her own good chick. She said it best in the blurb, there's a fine line between love and hate. And these two, well they are walking a fine line.

I won’t tell you much because I want you to read The Grumpy Player Next Door for yourself. Do yourself a favor and one-click. But fair warning if you are trying to read while in bed with your partner sleeping next to you… you might wake them up from laughing.

There’s a fine art to revenge, and today, I am arting the hell out of it. I’m talking cackles of glee, evil cartoon overlord-style, rubbing my hands together while bouncing on my toes. Reminding myself to shut up because my brother will be home from his morning workout any minute now, and I don’t want to tip my hand when he doesn’t know I’m waiting for him here in his house up on the mountainside.
You would think he would’ve learned to engage his security system more often by now.
But he hasn’t, which means I’m here, armed and dangerous and ready, and I’m cackling with glee all over again.
I know, I know. Is this really how you want to pay him back for having a box labeled “dildos” delivered to you at your parents’ house in the midst of all the pre-wedding activities for your other brother last week?
Yes, actually.
Yes, it is.
It’s payback time.
Also?
I have zero doubt Cooper will have mad respect that I’m doing this.
Sort of like while I was pissed when he replaced my coffee beans with roasted goat poop before he left for spring training nine months ago, I very much respected that he pulled it off, even if I wasn’t pleased at having to admit that that was the prank that took him over the top to win in our annual off-season prank war.
But this winter?
This winter, my brother Cooper “Stinky Booty” Rock is going down.
The universe told me so. Why else would it have hand-delivered that video into my social media stream to inspire me right after I finished figuring out where to donate an unopened box of dildos?
I cackle again.
And then I slap my hand over my mouth.
He’s home.
There’s his dark head, bent toward the knob, beyond the tempered glass panel beside his front door. He’s dressed in Fireballs red, which is more orange than it is red, and he’s probably worn out from lifting at the gym.
Yesterday was cardio day.
I know, because he ran past Crusty Nut, our dad’s restaurant where I’m the manager five days a week, at least two dozen times without stopping in once to say hi.
I haven’t seen him since the wedding several days ago, which either means he’s avoiding me and the revenge he knows I owe him, or he has a stick up his butt and has forgotten the little people.
Or, possibly, he’s distracted, in which case, he needs this.
I squat into position at the top of the stairs, as hidden as I can be while still seeing my target, Nerf blaster locked and loaded, waiting while he fumbles with his keys.
For the record?
It’s not easy to hide at the top of a curved staircase. I’m on my belly now, half-angled behind the wall of the hallway to his guest bedrooms, peering between the slats of the banister, hoping all my target practice pays off.
Steady, TJ. This is what you trained for.
The lock clicks.
I flatten myself lower and take aim.
The door swings open.
Dark hair in the foyer. Go go go.
I squeeze the trigger, sending a rapid blast of modified foam darts at the six balloons floating in the space above the door.
The needle sticking out barely an eighth of an inch in the tip of the first dart connects. One helium balloon pops. Then two more, followed by the fourth and fifth. The sixth shifts after getting hit, like it’s a tough guy balloon. It’s the ninja of balloons, and it doesn’t want to participate in my dastardly plans today, but that’s okay. The other balloons are bursting in a sparkly, shiny, beautiful pink glitter spray that’s splattering on the walls, exploding from its nylon shell and raining down like a spring shower, coating the walls, making the air sparkle, and dusting all that dark hair as Cooper’s lifting his head. “What the—”
And in the span of a heartbeat, before he can finish that sentence, I realize my mistake.
My terrible, horrible, very bad miscalculation.
If I were a superhero, I’d be sucking all that glitter into my lungs and redirecting it into my brother’s bedroom, which is likely what I should’ve done in the first place—hindsight, right?—but I didn’t. This was so much more dramatic and didn’t risk me having to find out which local he’s screwing around with in his spare time, as she’d be coated in glitter too after rolling around in his sheets, except my prank has failed.
It has failed spectacularly.
“Oh my god,” I gasp.
That’s not Cooper.
That is so not Cooper.

Release - Always Been You - Lily Miller

Eight years ago, a scandal ripped my family apart and cost me the only man I’ve ever loved- Parker Bennett.

Now I finally have my life back together…a successful flower shop, good friends and I’ve convinced myself I can handle anything thrown my way.

Until I see him again.

I should have said no when his wealthy, sophisticated mother walked into my shop asking me to create centerpieces for her anniversary party. But my best friend convinced me that the high profile event would be great for business. Against my better judgement I took the job, telling myself I was over him.

After all, he’s been in Manhattan for eight years, building a reputation as the millionaire CEO of his family’s hotel empire. Rumor has it he’s also become a charming playboy who collects hearts all over town… then breaks them.

But the second I saw him standing in front of me, I knew I was in trouble. All I can think about is how good I felt in his arms. And when I give into the temptation to feel that way again, I discover the fire between us burns even hotter.

Parker is successful, confident and hotter than hell. He can have any woman he wants, but he’s asking for a second chance with me.

Saying yes would mean not only risking my heart, but the life I’ve worked so hard to put back together.

But how can I walk away when he tells me I’ve always been the one?

Release + Review - Nothing Bundt Love - Samantha Lind

Nathan Bailey was the one that got away…or so I thought.

After leaving our hometown of Sweet Valley, Tennessee, for college,

He never looked back….

Until ten years later, when he walked into my bakery.

The now billionaire tech-mogul is back in town and has his eyes set on me.

He's no longer the boy next door.

Tall, dark, and handsome, he's all man now

His sweet-talking is impossible to ignore; it's almost as delicious as my bundt cakes.

Can I take a chance on my first crush and hope he won't break my heart for a second time?

Louise's Review

Nothing Bundt Love is a standalone love story; both nursing crushes, it’s been 10 years since they have laid eyes on each other.

Nathan is swoon worthy; considering everything not just with Harper but his friendships aswell. He is not your typical billionaire that is for sure.

Dreams change especially when they involve finding your forever.

Release + Review - Just One Scandal - Carly Phillips

A jilted bride. Her brother’s ex-buddy. An affair would be crazy…right?

Chloe Kingston’s life is exactly how she needs it: safe and stable. Right up until her reliable, low-risk fiancé jilts her on their fairy-tale wedding day. As she works her way through the reception champagne—and wonders where she’s going to live—she stumbles into her brother Linc’s ex-best friend.

If only Beckett Daniels were hideous. But he’s not. He’s everything her erstwhile groom was not. Hot. Sexy. Dangerous. And she’s just buzzed enough to want all that Greek-god gorgeousness to show her the kind of fun she’s been missing.

Beck thrives on calculated risks, but taking advantage of Linc’s little sister isn’t one of them. What he can do is haul her tipsy, tulle-clad, tempting little butt to the bridal suite to sleep it off. Then move her into his spare room—which has the satisfying side effect of driving her brother crazy.

They can’t remain platonic roommates for long. Not when the sexual attraction sizzles out of control. But when tragedy threatens Beck, pain from his past reminds them both that life doesn’t come without risks…and this time, they’re gambling with their hearts.

Louise's Review

Just One Scandal is book 2 in The Kingston Family series, a story that has all the knight in shining armour feels.

Chloe was playing it safe, well so she thought; when all that turns upside down and has her brothers ex best friend helping her and its not just a ride home. Beckett doesn’t stand a chance now that she is living in his spare room. They need to figure it all out before someone gets hurt.

I personally enjoyed this story; Phillips writes a great story that makes you want to be part of their world. I am looking forward to what’s next in the series.

 Johnaka's Review
“Unexpected love, 5 stars”

Chloe chose her groom because he was everything her father wasn’t, or so she thought. Only for him to crush everything she thought she knew. So when she parties away the blues of being ditched at the alter she never expected to run into Beckett, her brother's old friend. The series of events to follow goes against everything she thought she knew and wanted. But for some reason she wants him.

When Beckett ran into Chloe, he only did the gentlemanly thing because if his sister was still alive he would want someone to help her out too. Chloe makes him do things he never thought he would do. Before he knows it they’ve grown closer and he can’t help but admit the woman makes him want things he said he would never have. Will he change his mind before he loses her? Only one way to find out.

I highly enjoyed Just One Scandal. I love a good guy who’s slightly damaged. Chloe was a strong heroine who wasn’t going to force anything. She knew her worth and wouldn’t compromise on it, and I loved it.

Release + Review - Beneath The Surface - Emily McIntire

Lily
We all have scars.
Mine are hidden beneath ink and smiles,
hard to see and easy to feel.
But the most painful ones are deeper.
Branded on my soul, reminding me of what I've lost.
I'm broken.
Sick.
Disturbed.
Then he shows up, and loves my jagged pieces.
But monsters linger long after they've gone,
and sometimes you can't outrun their shadows.
No matter how much you ache to forget.

Mason
We all have secrets.
Mine are hidden beneath ink and lies,
hard to find and easy to fake.
But the most painful ones are bigger.
Branded on my soul, reminding me of what I've lost.
I'm an enigma.
A mirage.
A liar.
Then I find her, and she loves my hidden pieces.
But history lingers long after you've gone,
and sometimes you can't outrun your past.
No matter how much you want to give her forever.

Johnaka's Review
“Unconventional love story, 4 stars”

Lily and Mason never should have happened. He was supposed to find her and report to her brother. But something about the woman draws him in. He wants to know more. Is there a reason she’s been hiding from her family for so long? Would it be wrong for him to pass along where she is? So he does the one thing he shouldn’t, he gets close to his target. What he didn’t expect was to fall for the woman.

I’ve been following this series since the beginning and I won’t lie, Lily and her disappearance has always made me wonder. Well now, I know and I won’t lie; I was satisfied. I enjoyed watching her take control of her life and fall in love. The only reason the story gets a 4 from me is because Lily made me want to smack her at times. She grows as a character, but those childish tendencies are still there and thriving.

Even with that said, it was a solid read. I loved Mason, and his story surprised me.

“Stop speaking,” he mutters against my lips. He rolls over until he’s hovering on top of me, keeping us connected with his tongue. I’ve rarely been kissed, but the few times I have pale in comparison.

He kisses me like he’s reaching inside my chest and stealing my breath for his own. Like he’d let the world burn, if only I’d ask him for the ashes.

Finally, he breaks away, his eyes roaming over my face, the weight of his body pressing on mine the only thing tethering me to the ground. “I’m going to say something, and I need you to listen to me.” His palm runs down my hair again, and I lean into his touch. His other hand grips my chin, his thumb pressing into my bottom lip. “Being with you is what I like. However you need. However you want. Getting you off gets me off. Feeling you... learning all the different parts of you—” He swallows, his Adam’s apple bobbing. “It’s a fucking gift. I’ll be whatever you need me to be.”

My chest spasms, stomach warming. Emotion swirls in the center of my gut like fog, unfurling through my body, filling up the empty space. My hand lifts, fingers scratching against his stubble. “And who gets to be what you need?”

His eyes flash with heat, his lips turning up in the corner. His hand moves from my chin, skimming up my cheek and wrapping around the back of my neck. Leaning in, his nose brushes against mine, the moment thick with a tender energy.

“You’re the only thing I need, little bird.”

Release - When Villians Rise - Giana Darling

From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Giana Darling comes the conclusion to the Anti-Heroes in Love duet, a gripping mafia romance about the capo who will risk everything to keep the woman he loves safe...

I am the hero no one wanted...
I was a murderer.
One of the cruelest and wealthiest men in New York City.
Dante Salvatore, capo of capos.
Yet I had one weakness.
Elena Lombardi.
Cold as ice, sharp as the edge of broken glass, and more beautiful than any woman should have the right to be, she stormed my defenses and razed my life as I knew it to the ground. For her, I would once again play the hero and prove myself worthy of her unconquerable heart.
For her, I would change everything.
I could have left her to the enemies hounding me, but instead, I made the unforgivable decision to take her with me to the old country. Now, there is no other option. In order to keep both of us safe, Elena Lombardi must become my wife.

His eyes pinned to mine, he bent his torso to brace both hands on my armrests, effectively caging me into my seat.
My heart raced with a curious mixture of fear and excitement.
It was Dante’s unique charm that convinced you he might as easily kiss you as kill you.
“Perhaps it would help if I reminded you why you gave up everything you know to be with me,” he purred in that rich, dark voice I wanted to eat off his tongue like dark chocolate.
I was aroused, there was no denying it. A second pulse beat between my thighs, growing more and more insistent. My nipples were pebbled beneath my silk camisole despite the heavy cashmere cardigan I wore over it. The airplane air was cool, but every inch of my flesh itched with heat.
Yet, I felt nervous, awkward and almost irritated.
I wanted to play this game of seduction, but how in the world did I compete with the raw sexual magnetism of this man?
I felt when I had spent so many years quelling every emotion.
I trusted that, the feeling.
Even if I was wary of where it would take me.
So, I sucked in a bracing breath and raised my hands to slide my fingers around his warm neck into the short hairs at the back of his head.
“Show me,” I told him, barely above a whisper. “But I don’t need reminding. I could never forget why I left it all behind. I could never forget you.”
A growl worked through his throat as he dipped down to capture my mouth in a savage kiss. It was all tongue and teeth, a dance of ownership. I didn’t back down to his possession, desperate to show him how much I wanted to possess every inch of him too.
“Kissing you is the sweetest agony,” he murmured against my damp lips as one big hand moved to my throat. The feel of him collaring me that way should have been deplorable. Instead, it felt like the most exquisite necklace, one I wanted to wear with pride forevermore. “I never want to stop kissing you at the same time it makes me hungry for more.”
“Don’t stop,” I implored him, fisting my hands in his shirt collar so I could tug him harder against my mouth. “Kiss me.”
