BLURB

A Rockstar Bridenaps a Preschool Teacher...

Kidnapping the bride seemed like a good idea at the time.

Her fiancé stole my fortune, so I stole his woman.

Tit for tat. Or tat for tit. However you want to look at it.

The one thing I didn’t expect?

Willow Honeycutt, preschool teacher, boy band super fan, is completely crazy.

And somehow she’s turned the tables on me.

Now, she’s holding me hostage, and she won’t let me go until we hit every item on her sparkly new, completely insane bucket list.

And that last item?

That last item might cost me more than any fortune.

It very well might cost me my heart.

Rockaway Bride is a romping fun romance between a down-on-his-luck rock star and a boy band-loving preschool teacher, complete with a road trip, handcuffs, and fun with nuns. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends with a rockin' awesome happily ever after.

Johnaka's Review

“Runaway bride or kidnapped bride? 5 stars”

Oh, dear baby jesus did Rockaway Bride make me LMAO! I thought the idea of the story was amusing when I read the blurb and then I got into the story. I fell into Grants story telling and about died from her humor. Poor Dax had no idea what he was getting himself into when it came to Willow. In Rockaway Bride you see some of Grant’s previous couples, but you do not need to read their stories to understand this one.

Willow is a rebel locked in a good too shoes body. She as a desire to be bad but holds herself back. Then she sees her life flash before her eyes and can’t help but drink herself silly at the thought of the all too straight and boring life style she’s headed towards. After a little too much mead she finds herself on an adventure. One she really doesn’t want to come off of. Will she find out what it means to truly be happy with Dax?

Dax’s life has been going downhill ever since that night with a witch. Now he’s out to fix everything and he thought Willow would be the key to getting his life back on track. But instead he finds himself doing things he never thought about with her. He doesn’t know who has who under lock and key but for better or for worse they are with each other until the end. Will he get everything back to how it was before? Or will a piece of him be missing without her?

Take a crazy journey with Dax and Willow that will make you cringe at their antics yet kind of what to do them too.

Erin's Review:

“All y'all's crazy.” That may be the best line to describe this absolutely freaking hilarious book! I seriously laughed and snorted my way through the whole thing. My family thought I was nuts and there was no good way to explain the funny to my kids when there's lines about sheep breaking wind, dreams of regrowing personal bits shaped line banana with half peels, words like twatasaurus, and a “runaway bride gone wild.”

I don't know how anyone could turn away after reading the blurb for this book. In this topsy turvy, curve ball book, Willow gets kidnapped by a down on his luck rocker on the eve of her wedding. Dax just wants what was stolen from him returned. Their hilarious adventure through Europe proves that “change isn't just good. It's artistically necessary.”

Willow is a straight-laced preschool teacher who has an epiphany the night before her wedding. Her brilliant use of preschool antics makes her character supremely believable while totally endearing. Meanwhile Dax is a rockstar who has lost a fortune to Willow's fiance. He kidnaps Willow just as she's “running” away from her wedding. But Willow turns the tables on Dax and decides she needs to fulfill an insane bucket list of items, with his help as a bad boy. Their fantastic friends and family are grand additions to the cast, providing hilarious antics along the way.

Of course the big bad rocker is going to fall for the good girl preschool teacher. And they do so in a spectacular fashion! “I'm a desperate, horny, needy ball of lust.” For real, the steam these two give off could power a locomotive. I loved their interactions, which started off jaded and hateful; but turned salacious in all the best romance novel ways.

Pippa Grant has written such a fast paced romance novel of hilarious proportions. This was my first time reading one of her books, and I'm am seriously hooked. She did a lovely job of bringing the characters, locations, and situations to life. I was drawn in with the flirty yet gritty details that make all the difference in a believable story you can delve into.

“Magic with a sweet melody and a heavy bass beat and a desperate crescendo...” This book is a fantastic romantic comedy that I hope you all take the time to read. Because then you'll be hooked and attempting to see how many of the author's books you can get away with buying. Honestly, I had a blast reading this book, and I'm excited to find out more about the characters we read about in this book.

Our Review:

I thoroughly enjoyed this cute college read. The author wove an amazing tale of sweet characters and believable plot. This is the first book in the Riggins University series by this author, and my first book by Ms. Alexander. It's full of funny one liners and well developed emotions.

This book takes us along as college student Skye comes into her own, while finding love with Logan. It's a well written plot about love, personal growth, friendships and family. I enjoyed the main theme of Skye coming into her own despite being a twin. Her growth and awareness were on point for her old soul, and something many people experience during their college years... “this self-imposed shell feels constrictive. I'm outgrowing it, and I have no idea what to do with myself.”

We follow Skye, the ugly duckling to her sister's swan. Logan is police officer, and older than Skye. And while the age difference provides some struggles for the two, it also works in this book; Skye is a very responsible woman, yet still a naive college girl; which work as a perfect foil to Logan's need for some fun and trust. I think one quote that works for all the characters is “I'm a work in progress,” and I was excited to be along for the ride!

These characters felt an obvious attraction right away, but played it safe and responsible. I liked how they worked on getting to know each other, and especially how Logan tread carefully around the age difference and place authority. But when the time comes, they come together organically through their trust and love.

I adored the writing of Ms. Alexander. She had such witty and emotional writing that drew me to read this book in one sitting. Between fun lines like “I want to eat your cookies, and I know I'll love them,” and “I didn't plan bail money into this month's budget” I was laughing and hurting with the characters as they moved through life.

“Often, courage is measured against how brave one is, but now I wonder about a different kind of courage. The courage to expose oneself and the willingness to get hurt in the process. If I'm to measure myself by this yardstick, I'm a coward.” I loved the growth and development of not only the main characters, but the supporting characters as well. I can't wait to read future books to find out what Skye's twin is up to, or learn more about Logan's brother Liam (FYI, Logan texting to Liam slays me!).

AUTHOR BIO

Erica Alexander has been a storyteller her entire life. If she’s not writing stories, she’s daydreaming them. Which has gotten her in trouble once or twice. She has an inclination to use sarcasm and she can make anything that comes out of her mouth, sound dirty.
It’s a gift.

When Erica is not writing, reading or daydreaming new stories, she enjoys baking, looking up pictures of hot guys on Pinterest (for research of course) and commiserating with friends over their mutual hatred of laundry.

Erica’s life goals are: to make sure her family is happy and healthy, bring to life all the stories in her head, visit Australia and jump off a plane. Preferably with a parachute.

Erica has degrees in Communications and Computer Science and she loves history, all things Native American, and anything that’s off the beaten path and weird.
