“The ugly duckling and the rugby player, 5 stars”

Joellen is not classically beautiful like her sister or model mother. Her whole life she’s been put down by her family for not fitting their standards and being “sensitive”. She’s been secretly in love with he boss for over ten years and has never really given anyone a chance until Cam. Under the ruse of helping her score her dream guy Cam takes her under his wing and turns her into the swan she really is. The question is will she stay with Cam or go for the guy she really doesn’t know but believes she loves?

I loved Cam. He was a freaking champ and honestly, I don’t think I’ve read a character in quite some time who can play the game like Cam can. He was worming his way under her skin without her ever noticing and it was brilliant. The question is will it click into place before his time is up in the states?

“The alcoholic and the genius, 4 stars”

Cain has issues. He’s a bitter, resentful fool who drowns himself with the bottle and ignoring those who should be close to him. He gets up every day, works hard, then plays harder, only to repeat the next day. When he meets Sophie, he doesn’t really see her until he takes a closer look. She’s the unassuming girl and he had no idea she was about to flip his world.

Sophie is the female version of Sheldon Cooper from BBT. She’s very literal and to the point. She sees Cain for what he is but its hard for her to grasp that maybe he’s the love she’s looking for when she doesn’t believe in it. They balance each other out perfectly and he doesn’t make fun of her for seeing things so black and white. Will they make it to the end?

I really did like Sophie but there were times I wanted to slap Cain for not seeing what was right in front of him. There were things that just didn’t really click for me in the story such as some vague comments about Cain’s twin and Sophie’s sister. Even with that said I do plan on reading the next book in the Jordan series to see where McCarthy takes the siblings and get some long awaited answers.

“Two halves of a whole, 5 stars”

If you would have told me a year ago I would read a m/m book and like it I would have called you crazy. Well you can call me crazy. I’ve tried reading m/m in the past and was never able to fall into the story, but with Casper and Caden I was able to just like I can with a m/f story. Conflicted is tastefully done and there is no denying these two belong together. The story flew by and I felt like I had hardly started reading when it was over, but I felt good with how the story worked out.

Caden is the guy who finally busted out of the closet and into the open with his sexuality. While at it he’s also finding himself with the little help from his brother and friends. The four of them can take on anything that comes there way. Even with that said he is left feeling a little restless and knows he wants the happily ever after his brother and his best friend have. Then he meets Casper.

Casper is in the closet and doesn’t know how to come out. He’s the definition of mans man. Then when he meets Caden everything starts to change. Will he be willing to put himself on the line for love? And what will he do if those he cares about come in harm’s way?

“Frenemies to lovers, 4 stars”

Drew has an attitude that has gotten him in trouble in the past and now with his baseball career possibly in jeopardy he will do anything to keep his dream intact. He knew she was the perfect person for the job what he didn’t expect was for her to change the rules of the game. Can the ice man thaw or will he remain cold and jaded forever?

Evie is heartbroken after her ex leaves and is just trying to figure out to live without him after so many years. When Drew comes to her with a proposition that’s too good to be true she jumps on it. Little did she know that she would actually find out what it was like to be worshiped and loved. The question remains though, will she go back to the one she’s always known or be with the one who makes her feel like she’s on fire?

I loved Hothead, I really did. I liked the characters and was sucked in from the first page. But for me I felt like after it was all said and done that I had read this story before. Maybe I’m crazy, or maybe there was a novella of them leading up to it that I missed I don’t know but that is really the only reason its getting a four instead of a five star. Even with that said you will enjoy the story if you give it a chance.

“The Actor and the Kindergarten teacher, 4 stars”

Kaylee is the good girl who only went to the movie premier to be a good friend to her best friend. 

Her best friend’s dad directed a A-list movie and she knew it was going to be brilliant. What Kaylee didn’t know is it would set her on a completely different path then what she thought her life would entail. Will Kaylee regret running into Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor?

Paxton is a good ol’ southern boy who has made it big. He knows when to play up his southern drawl and when to hide it. When the most beautiful woman runs right into him he knows to play it up. Question is will the good girl stick around?

I really did like these two as a couple. I thought the story was sweet and well written. The only reason I’m rating it a 4 is because it was a little too insta love for me. If your looking for a quick sweet read with some awesome s.e.x. then this book is definitely one to one-click.

I am going to cut through all the normal review stuff I do and not give you a tease about each character and how awesome they are. Instead I’m going to rave about how much I enjoyed About Time. About Time is a story that’s kind of like a lost love connection type of story. Dunk and Ash met when they were in college but they were literally passing ships even though Dunk was Ash’s brothers best friend.

They moved on with their lives and stuff happened who reshaped them into who they are now. And now? They are both hopping that brief connection they shared was real and that maybe just maybe they can build on it now. It’s a beautiful story that is well written. I definitely recommend you one-click, I don’t think you’ll regret it.
