Release + Review - Get Revenge - Rie Warren

Blurb:
He made sure she’d never come looking for him. She vowed to hate him until her dying breath. When they meet again sparks fly, lust ignites . . . danger doubles down.

REVENGE
I’m a bad biker dude with a serious chip on my shoulder. I’m also known for being an ex-con and most likely to be engaged in a spicy threesome with the Doublemint Twins. Everything comes to a screeching halt when a woman I betrayed shows up at Blood Legion MC.

There’s no frickin’ way Arden high and mighty Prioleau belongs anywhere near the Thunder Road Bar. There’s no frigging reason for her to be looking for me. She’s cool, calm, and cultured on the outside, all seething anger and undeniable sexiness on the inside.

Arden is a glorious redhaired vixen with one giant ask—she wants my help to take down a man I’d rather dismember than share a drink with.

ARDEN
Revenge isn’t even his real name, but he doesn’t want anyone else to know who he really is. I guess I can’t blame him. I wish I could change my identity too if only to get away from the maniac destroying my life.

Revenge is the last person on earth I’d ever expect to rely on. He’s my last chance. My final hope. And that isn’t saying all that much considering how we ended.

Now I’m not so sure what I’ve gotten myself into. Revenge is hardened and even hotter than I remembered. He’s a black sheep with a checkered past. A dark horse who’s dirty as sin.

It turns out my knight in shining armor is a leather-clad biker I’ve known most of my life and have spent the past few years hating with a fiery intensity.

Jennifer's Review
Interesting MC novel. Get Revenge is an interesting take on a second chance romance with an MC twist. This is a stand-alone, but it's obvious it's a part of a series. While I didn't feel I missed too much by reading this book without the others, I still wished I had read the others first.

I enjoyed the plot of this book. What could bring prissy Arden to the MC's front door asking for the man that ruined her life years ago? Will he step up and help her or turn her away? I liked the way the author wrote the plot of this book. It was interesting and had just enough twists to keep me hooked.

Arden was a good character, but I felt she could've been better. There were small things about her that bothered me. Revenge was a good character as well. He is noble and protective. I loved that about him.

There is a lot of heat in this story. While the heat was well written and steamy, I felt like it was a bit much for me personally. With that being said, I enjoyed it.

The writing style of this book is good. Its told in a dual point of view. It has a steady pace. I enjoyed seeing the dynamic between characters. I liked the bits of backstory I read as well.

Overall, this was a good book. I enjoyed reading it from start to finish. While there were parts of this book I didn't fall in love with, there were other parts that I did. I would like to go back and read the other books now.

Excerpt:
Gabriel—Revenge—held my wrists together loosely locked behind my back, which brought my heaving breasts in contact with the solid wall of his chest.
His breath fanned down, and his half-mast eyes held me captive.
“All tempest and tempestuousness, cher. And you will always be too goddamn tempting to me.”
Passion collided, overriding everything, and we crashed together.
We couldn’t keep our hands off one another.
Lips pressed together in hard wet kisses, teeth nipping, hands seeking, we went at each other with hunger that consumed.
Our clothes came off in a flurry.
I didn’t even care when he ripped the zipper on my skirt slightly from its expensive moorings.
Both finally naked, we stood panting, not touching. Seconds stretched out as the air steeped in sensual stillness. We looked, seeing the other after so many years—wholly, completely bare.
I thought his smoldering stare alone would melt me into a puddle.
I wondered if I was drooling.
He had to have at least seventy-five pounds on Barnaby, and he was pure sculpted muscle.
Muscle covered in tattoos.
Foreign and exotic but my first lover.
My only love.
We came together in a fiery kiss that molded us from lips to legs, and the hard jut of his cock against my belly filled me with such need I bit his bottom lip hard enough to draw blood.
He yanked his head back, growling as he filled his hands with my ass to lift me up astride him.
I hissed when his thick hardness split the lips of my pussy wide. I looped my legs around his lean waist. I rode against him—against his rigid cock—spilling wetness all over that rampant rod.
His mouth slammed back over mine, tongue diving deep to twine with mine and lure me back into his mouth where I tasted nothing but heat as I writhed against his cock, feeling nothing but brute force.
I thought he’d take me right up against the wall, and I wanted it.
I needed it.
My fingers crammed into his hair, I moved lower to suck on his earlobe, to drag my tongue along the sinews of his strongly corded throat.
The huge muscles in his arms flexed tantalizingly as he helped grind me against the cock wedged along my weeping slit.
“Goddamn, Arden. Trying to make me come before I even get inside you?” He grunted, rough fingers squeezing my ass hard.
I laughed in a sultry tone I could hardly remember and took another sharp little bite of his bottom lip, his beard tickling me. “If you do, I want it in my mouth.”
“Fuuuck.” Pivoting swiftly, Gabriel stalked to the bed then deposited me in the center of the mattress.
“I’m pissed off at you, you know?” He stood beside me, bold in his glaring hotness and all that hard body.
I stretched out like a wanton creature beneath his hooded gaze. “Should I say sorry?”

Release + Review - Waking up Married - Lisa Suzanne

BLURB

I’ve never seen Emily Clarke as anything more than my little sister’s best friend.

One drunken mistake later, she’s my wife.

My first thought is how to get out of this, except our wedding video has gone viral and record sales are skyrocketing. My manager thinks following the newlyweds on the second season of my band’s reality show will keep up the momentum.

I just have to get Emily to agree to faking this marriage for six months, and then we can quietly divorce.

Right?

Wrong.

Nothing is quite that simple when feelings blur the line between a contract and reality.

I ended up with more than just a hangover when I found myself waking up married.

Jennifer's Review
H-O-T! Waking Up Married is one hot rockstar meets sisters best friend romance! The chemistry just flies off the page! Don't miss out on this one!

Waking Up Married combines two genres: Surprise marriage & Rockstar romance. I loved how the author was able to integrate my favorite parts of both genres in a way that they worked with each other. It flowed smoothly and provided a lot of entertainment.

Emily is a great character. I will say that I felt things moved a bit fast for her, but hey. What is Vegas if not a fast moving town? I liked her spunk and personality. Adam was a great character as well. He is not your average rockstar, which is perfect. I also really liked how the author introduced these two. It made more sense about why we would want to root for them.

The heat in this book is off the chains from the beginning. The two characters are charismatic and have a pull towards each other. Add in his rockstar and her sweet aura, then I knew these two would be hot together. They did not disappoint!

In conclusion, I love this story! These characters really spoke with me. The one and only time I had to put it down for real life, I was dying to get back to it. I would wholeheartedly recommend this book!

BLURB

At Christmastime, sometimes even impossible wishes come true…

One word changed Wes Lockhart’s life forever. Cancer. Fighting for his life completely flipped his priorities, making him realize he wanted—no, needed—to use his billions to help others find the kind of second chance he’d been given. The first person he intended to help? The beautiful, caring, and dedicated oncologist who got him through his treatments and ushered him into remission. And what better time than the holidays to become her not-so-secret Santa?

Dr. Paige Regis has spent her entire career helping others, often at the expense of her personal life. She’d love to start a family of her own—but with her current patients and her plans to open a brand-new cancer center, it seems like an impossible dream. It’s not until she reconnects with the charming Wes that she realizes he might just be the man to make all her Christmas wishes come true.

Can Wes and Paige open their hearts to the magic of the season—and each other—to get a shot at their very own Christmas miracle? Or will past hurts and doubts end their happily ever after before it even begins?

Louise's Review
The Wish Maker is book 2 in the The Billionaires of Silicon Forest; after reading The Wife Finder I was hooked, leaving me hanging for Wes’s story.

Wes had been to hell and back, the big C; Cancer. Now in remission everything made him worry so really had he left hell at all? When his friend pushing him to get out and be part of the Christmas spirit he reluctantly does and who would have thought that a woman that saw him at his weakest would make him stronger.

Wes and Paige have off the chart’s chemistry, Wes might be in denial about his feelings for Paige but she isn’t and she is willing to fight for them even if she has to call in the big guns to set him on the right path.

I personally loved this story; Made me feel like wishes and dreams come true.
Bring on book 3; Dash won’t know what’s hit him!

EXCERPT

Wes sat across from her at a small round table tucked in a back corner. He sipped his Americano.
“I would have taken you for the caramel macchiato type.” He eyed her mug, which was topped with whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, and a candy cane. “Not peppermint hot chocolate.”
“It’s a Christmas drink. Not as traditional as eggnog, but a close second.”
She took a sip. When she lowered her mug from her mouth, a dollop of whipped cream stuck to her upper lip.
Wes shouldn’t be staring or wishing he could help her with it. He tried to look away, but he couldn’t. Fighting the urge to wipe it off, he handed her a napkin. “You have whipped cream on your mouth.”
“That always happens with these drinks.” She patted her face with the napkin. “But it’s worth it.”
Glad she thought so. Wes never imagined himself envying a napkin.

No business at all.
CHASTITY
For years I’ve crushed on him.
An older man who makes me tremble.

I shouldn’t lust after him.
But tell that to my poor hopeless heart.
I should stay away.
But I won’t.

Off Limits is book 5 of the Kings of Mayhem series; Ruger is struggling with the side of right and wrong and dam if being wrong feels this good then he never wants to be right.

Jennifer's Review
Interesting take. Distract Me is a stand-alone novel in the Stupid Awesome Love series. I read it as a stand alone and did not feel like I was missing anything. I will say that it was obvious that some of the other characters had their own stories, but I didn't feel the need to have to read them first. This was a decent story with some strong points, but it also had some downfalls for me.

The plot of this story was interesting and refreshing. The idea that the main hero was looking for his child for so long while avoiding any other serious attachments is amazing. Add in the one woman who may make him change his mind? I liked that about this book. The characters were original and the heat was great.

My only complaint about the book was the writing style. I just don't feel like it meshed well for me. Sometimes the characters used words that didn't seem to fit their personality. I also felt like the story progressed a little too slowly for me personally. All of these issues were a personal issue for me though.

In conclusion, this was a good story. I enjoyed many aspects of it. With that being said, I also had some issues with it as well. I would say that for some this book will be a huge hit. Give it a shot.

Release + Review - Sleeper - Kayley Loring

SHANE MILLER SLEEP DIARY:

Went to bed at: Late.
How long it took to fall asleep: Forever. I have insomnia. Duh.
Number of caffeinated beverages you had consumed: Zero. Thanks for advising me to quit!

My stress level is off the charts.
I can’t sleep right on a normal day, and lately my days are filled with the best kind of chaos.
My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three months,
so I’m turning down movie parts to focus on the most important role of my life—
impossibly charming and somewhat capable young single dad.
My son won’t stop asking questions.
My daughter won’t brush her teeth unless I sing her showtunes.
Our regular nanny quit.
The only person I could trust to hire as a temp nanny is my best friend’s sister.

If Mary Poppins and Bill Murray had a baby it would be Willa.
Fresh out of grad school and beautifully weird.
She hates my movies, and my kids adore her.
I couldn’t sleep last night because she wasn’t here.
Turns out I can’t sleep unless she’s in my house now.
Turns out she’s what’s been missing from my life all along.
If my friend had any idea what I want to do to his gorgeous troublemaker of a sister,
he would smother me with a pillow.

The chances of us succeeding as a couple are about as good as that little indie movie
that I made being a huge hit.
But it’s a chance I’m going to take.

Johnaka's Review
“Pleasant surprise, 5 stars”

About once a month I try a new to me author and this month I chose Loring. And surprised I was. I loved Sleeper and was hooked. I love a good falling for best friend’s sibling book, I love a good fall in love with the nanny book, and in a slightly quirky heroine and I’m sold. Sleeper had all three so there was no way I couldn’t love it. I can’t wait to see what Loring does next.

Shane was a teenage heart throb actor who has since moved to the big screen. When he’s not making box office hits, he’s taking time off and spending it with his kids. When his nanny up and quits he doesn’t know what to do. He’s barely holding it together when his best friend offers up his sister’s help. He remembers the quirky girl but he never would have expected for her to turn into the beauty she is. Will he be able to keep his hands off her?

Willa might have been slightly obsessed with Shane when she was younger but that’s completely normal for pre-teen girls right? But she’s gotten over that. It’s been a long time since she’s seen him. When she finds out he needs help curing his insomnia along with taking care of his kids she can’t walk away. Will she be able to turn his life for the better? Or will she be getting her own surprise?

AUTHOR BIO

Before writing steamy romantic comedy novels, Kayley Loring got a BFA in creative writing from a Canadian university and had a fifteen-year career as a screenwriter in Los Angeles (under a different name). She mostly wrote PG-13 family comedies that studios would pay her lots of money for and then never make into movies. In 2017 she decided to move to the Pacific Northwest and write about all the fun stuff that she wasn't allowed to write about in those PG-13 scripts. Now she’s breathing cleaner air and writing dirtier words. It’s an adjustment she’s happily getting used to.
