REVIEW - In Too Deep - Lexi Ryan

TITLE - In Too Deep
AUTHOR - Lexi Ryan

Released September 15th

BLURB:

New York Times bestselling author Lexi Ryan brings readers a sexy NFL player who's pulled out all the stops for one more chance with the love of his life.

I have thirty days to make my wife fall in love with me or let her go forever.

I loved Bailey Green long before she watched her loser ex take his last breaths. I held her while they lowered his coffin into the ground, stilled her shaking hands when the nightmares would tear her from sleep. I waited for her through her grief. But while she was always willing to let me in her bed, she refused to let me in the one place I longed to be—her heart.

Tired of playing second string to a dead man, I let her go. I moved to Florida to begin my NFL career and tried to pretend my perfect life didn’t leave me empty. I’d almost given up. Until one drunken night in Vegas, we stumbled down the aisle and said “I do.”

In exchange for the divorce she wants so badly, she’s agreed to remain my wife for thirty days. She has no idea the favors I’ve called in or the lies I’ve told to get her here, but if I succeed, none of that matters.

My secrets always seemed justified, but Bailey has her own—secrets that explain why she always pushed me away, secrets that make me wonder if I should have let her. Now we’re in too deep and I might lose the only girl I’ve ever loved and the best friend I’ve ever had.

In Too Deep is a sexy and emotional novel intended for mature readers. It’s the fifth book in the world of the Blackhawk Boys, but can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Football. Secrets. Lies. Passion. These boys don’t play fair. Which Blackhawk Boy will steal your heart?

Book 1 - SPINNING OUT (Arrow’s story)
Book 2 - RUSHING IN (Christopher’s story)
Book 3 - GOING UNDER (Sebastian’s story)
Book 4 - FALLING HARD (Keegan’s story)
Book 5 - IN TOO DEEP (Mason’s story)

REVIEW:

This is Mason's story. Mason Dahl is an NFL player who has had a crush on Bailey since the day she moved to the college. They went to Vegas and the next morning they were married. Bailey doesn't want to be married to Mason since she feels she doesn't belong or fit in Mason's life. He's wealthy and she's not. She wants a divorce because of the secrets she is keeping from him. So they agree on four months of being married. Mason has that long to convince his wife to fall in love with him or let her go forever which will break his heart.

Mason's father controls him. He was one character I didn't like. He belittled Bailey because of what she did in the past to survive. Bailey doesn't want Mason's money she wants to work. So Mason asks her to move in with him and she does, and all his football player wives start making appointments for her to take pictures.

Mason and Bailey both have secrets. Secrets that they are afraid to share between each other because they feel it'll end their friendship. Well secrets come out and when that happens, especially Bailey's secret, it was very touching and I liked the way Mason handled it.

Lexi Blake captivates you in her writing. You feel like you are in between those pages with the characters and that is something I enjoy while reading a book. I was hooked from the beginning. This is the 5th book in The Blackhawk Book series but can be read as a standalone. I will be adding the others to my to be read list because I really liked this book and I highly recommend this book to others!

Parts of the story I liked:

Towards the end....

"I don't take pictures for the money. I do it because it makes women feel good about themselves."

"A connection so intense that other people could feel it when we were in the same room."
