The
first time we met was at a party.
Your ex
arrived to show off the person he'd left you for last month, and you asked me
to pretend to be your date.
I was
more than happy to help. You were attractive, smart and witty--and that
kiss we shared? It left me wanting you for days.
The
second time we met was in my office on campus where we were both surprised to
discover you were the new master’s degree student in poetry that I would be working
with. You promised to be professional. I did no such thing.
The
late nights and intense study sessions spent alongside you majorly throw me off
my game. I want you, and I fight with myself daily over this fact.
I know
I'm crass, that my sexual innuendos and dirty mouth annoy you, but I live for
those two bright spots of color in your cheeks. If that's the only reaction I
can get out of you, I'll gladly take it.
You
hate Mondays so every Monday I slip an anonymous poem into your bag
and your smile gets me through the week.
I think
I'm falling for you, and I know it's wrong. I know that I'm only supposed to be
your adviser and nothing more, but here's the thing. I think you're falling for
me too.
xo,
Zach

Our Review:
“Just one-click, 5 stars”
Okay, I am writing this review on the eighth of January and I am telling you right now that Xo, Zach will go down as one of my top reads of 2018. With that said your probably thinking what makes you feel that way? Well let me tell you…
Yes, these characters were amazing and well-rounded but that’s not what made me love Xo, Zach. What I loved most about this story is that these two recognized they had some obstacles ahead of them. They discussed this, which is huge considering most stories they just jump in and figure it out later. No, these two figured it all out ahead of time because they both had something to lose. It was refreshing and inspiring and I was over hear yelling yes! Yes! Yes! Despite everything they decided to go for love and guess what?! Once they were together there was no second guessing, no maybe we shouldn’t do this crap. They did that all before they got together so there was no need. It was amazing to me. I absolutely loved it.
Zach wants love but isn’t actively looking for love if that makes sense. He’s got quite a bit on his plate and has some decisions to make. But when he meets Poppy one night during a chance encounter he’s thinking maybe she could be the one. As fast as she comes in to his life she tries to blow out only to walk right into his office. Can he convince her he’s worth the risk? How would he feel stepping into her hectic life?
Poppy is a single mom working on her masters. She was burned once by what she thought was love and honestly isn’t interested in it currently. She just wants to have a good life for her and her son and prove her parents wrong. But time after time Zach proves he’s there for her. Is he worth the risk? Will he accept her son? It’s do or don’t time, what choice will these two make? One-click and find out.
