SUBJECT: ENGAGEMENT CONTRACT (Marked Confidential)

FROM THE DESK OF HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCE CHRISTOPHER

Emily—Thank you for joining me for dinner tonight. And for agreeing to my proposal, as ludicrous as it is. Desperate times call for fake engagements. At least in my family.

I am attaching the contract we discussed. Our lawyers asked that I highlight the following clauses:

• The engagement shall last ninety days
• Both parties are to appear genuinely in love at all royal appearances
• Beyond required public displays of affection, there shall be no contact of any kind between the parties

The first half of your payment will be deposited into your account upon the signing of this contract. Be sure to note your ring size. We would like to make prompt delivery of the family emerald. The Queen and I thank you in advance for your discretion.

Cheers,
Kit

P.S.—Sorry to hear about your divorce. Your ex sounds like a proper knob head.

P.P.S—You looked stunning tonight.

Jennifer's Review:

Royal Ruin really hit the spot with me. I was looking for a book that including a royalty aspect and this book was exactly what I needed. The characters were interesting and dynamic. The plot was amazing. The heat was cranked up to the max. I honestly cannot find anything bad to say about this book.

The plot of this book is what drew me in. The Prince of England is in need of a fiancée. The only problem is the fiancée is only supposed to be temporary. I love this type of book. Give me a fake relationship any day and I am in love. The author wrote this plot so beautifully. I loved that she also gave the back story between the characters. It made the story seem more realistic.

Let’s talk about the characters. Prince Kit is too adorable. Not only is he described as hot as sin, but I can also hear his British accent in my head. That automatically makes him 10 times sexier. Then you throw in the British words into his language and I am in love. Emily is a great character as well. She is relatable. She is American and has a dream she wants to achieve. She is struggling with her work and personal life. I feel that we can all relate to this. She is such a strong character through. She has drive and is not willing to give up easily. I think this is wonderful for characters and people in general to have.

I mentioned the heat before, but I cannot stop mentioning it. The heat in this book is off the charts. Add in the description of the scenes from Kit and man I need to fan myself. Honestly, he is literally a wet dream come true. These characters are explosive together. The tension between them is just another dynamic layer to a wonderful book.

I really enjoyed the writing style of this book. It is told from a dual point of view, which I always love. It also has a steady pace. There is a flashback period prior to the story beginning. I was glad this was included because it gave insight into the characters. I also loved the minor characters. I hope all of them get their own stories because they are all wildly entertaining. I can honestly say this story made me tear up as well. It is not often a book can elicit such emotions from me. Kudos to you.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed this story. There was hints of a book 2 with two minor characters coming out. I really hope the author does this so that I can catch up with the prince and Emily, but also fall in love with these new characters. I would recommend this book to others!
