REVIEW - Watching From The Shadows (Trident Security #5) by Samantha A. Cole

Title - Watching From The Shadows (Trident Security #5)
Author - Samantha A Cole

Synopsis

The Sexy Six-Pack is back!

Retired Navy SEAL, Marco DeAngelis, is now an operative at Trident Security. He’s also a Dominant in the BDSM lifestyle. After a poor childhood, he is determined to stay single and childless for the rest of his life. But unbeknownst to him, one night of shared grief and comfort with his deceased sister’s best friend changes that forever.

Harper Williams had always found her best friend’s brother attractive and the more she got to know him, the more she liked him. But Marco has made it perfectly clear a wife and children aren’t for him, even if he no longer has a say in the latter. If he didn’t want to be involved in his child’s life, then that was his problem.

When Harper is left unconscious after a violent home invasion, the two are thrown back together and become embroiled in a web of lies and deceit of someone else’s making. Will they lose their baby…and their lives?

My Thoughts

Where do I even begin?!   Samantha A. Cole’s writing captivates you from the beginning. You will not want to put any of her books down until they are done, well that’s the case with me anyways.  She has become one of my top authors!  Watching From the Shadows is Marco and Harper’s story.  Each book in this series is about a different member of the Sexy Six-Pack team, that is one aspect that I love about reading this series.  I love how each book connects to each other and you can also read as a standalone since Samantha tells you detailed info about the smokin’ hot guys.

Marco ‘Polo’ didn’t have the best childhood so he decided a long time ago he didn’t want a wife or children.   He was a Dom at the BDSM club the guys belonged to the Covenant.   Harper Williams was Marco’s sister’s best friend. When she passed a year ago at the funeral they hooked up.   Unbeknownst to Marco, she was pregnant and had a baby. The story unfolds with action packed of someone trying to hurt Harper. That’s when the guys do their job and protect each other.  There is action, BDSM scenes, love, hope, suspense all in this book. This book also made me laugh at some points. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. Never a dull moment.

Parts of the story I liked:
All of it, the beginning-middle and end!  So here are a few quotes that I liked:
“It’s colder than a witch’s tit out here.”

“I think Mara would love to have a father to take her to ballgames, play catch, and teach her to fish. She also needs a man to show her how a woman is supposed to be treated, so she knows what to look for in the men she’ll date someday. Someone she can look up to and respect because he’s a good man. He doesn’t have to be perfect because that’s unrealistic-nobody’s perfect. As long as she knows she can go to him when she needs comfort or help with a problem…or a burden…then I think she’ll have a damn good father.”

“She said everyone was entitled to their own happily-ever-after, but it was up to us to want it and demand it. If we wanted it badly enough, we could look beyond our past and embrace our future.”    (This is my favorite)

I’d recommend this book to anyone that loves an action packed story with sexy men, and love.
