Lucky.
The one adjective used to describe my entire hockey career. I prefer to call it hard work, at least I did until my game went to complete crap. I haven’t scored in eight games and my team owner is talking about trading me.
I’ve never believed in superstitions. Never needed one. I suppose I was “lucky” in that way. But now the best way to refer to me is desperate. I’d wear the same socks for an entire year just to be the high-scoring center I used to be.
Imagine my surprise when after spending New Year’s Eve with a woman, I score a hat trick in the next game—that’s three goals in one game for you non-hockey lovers. Now, I have to track her down and bribe her to do it again before every game. Get your mind out of the gutter, I’m not talking about it.
I find her and when I get to know her better, I end up
spending more time thinking about her than my game, but she’s made it clear she
wants no part of me. She’s going to learn that I didn’t become a professional
hockey player without having to fight for what I want.

When Aiden met Saige, he wanted her, but she was on a date with someone else. That night though, changed everything for him. Ever since his game has gone downhill, and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to get it back. Even if it means having his agent's girl throw a drink in his face.
Saige can’t deny that she’s attracted to Aiden, but she made herself a promise long ago that she wouldn’t date another athlete. When he comes to her asking for help though, she can’t say no, she just has to keep him at arm's length.
City to city the bond between these two grows along with the chemistry. Aiden can’t help but wonder, is she really taken or is she putting up a wall to protect herself? Saige can’t help but wonder, is Aiden worth the risk? Only one way to find out.

My Lucky #13 is the 1st book in the fresh new Hockey Hotties series; a different direction for Piper & Rayne and one that I couldn’t put down.
Number 13 is unlucky for a lot of people but for Aiden it was lucky; his career had been exceptional and when his performance takes a dive and his position in the team is questioned, maybe its time to find that superstition. Saige has been burnt before; athletes are her no go they will only leave you with a broken heart; but Aiden has shown her a side of him that she never thought existed. Is it all real or is she just a distraction?
I personally loved this story, Piper & Rayne are one of my all time favourite authors and their writing and story lines have just gotten better and better through the years and I am so excited for this series.
