TITLE - The Birthday List
AUTHOR - Devney Perry

Blurb:

Happily married to her college sweetheart, Poppy lived a blessed life with the husband of her dreams. Then everything changed. She is no longer a wife. She is no longer the envy of her single friends. Now, people look at her with pity as they whisper a single word behind her back.

Widow.

Years after her husband’s tragic death, years of pain and sorrow and wishing for the life she’ll never get back, Poppy decides to finish Jamie’s birthday list. She’ll do the things he wanted to most. Because maybe, just maybe, if she can complete his list, she can start to live again.

Poppy expects going through the birthday list will be hard. She expects it to hurt. But what she doesn’t expect is Cole. Could the man who delivered the news of her husband’s death and shattered her heart be the one to help her put it back together again?

Johnaka's Review:

“Second chances and letting go, 5 stars”

Where to even start! The Birthday List is packed with emotions. There were times my heart would hurt then the next I had a small smile loving where the story was going. The Birthday List is about letting go of the past and how its okay to move on even when you’re not sold on the idea. That sometimes you don’t only have one love of your life but you have two.

For me the Birthday List is different than Perry’s other books and I loved where she took the story. There were some twists and turns I didn’t see coming that made the story really come full circle. Its definitely one you should one-click and fall into.

Poppy found her love when she was in college only for there time to be cut short. Now she’s trying to finish his birthday list in hopes that it helps her move on. Because let’s face it she’s way too young to be alone forever and she hates being defined by her widow status. What she didn’t expect was Cole.

Cole and Poppy’s pasts are connected in an unlikely way. He didn’t like leaving her then and there is no way he’s leaving her now. He will do whatever he can to help her put her past to rest. Cole won’t let Poppy’s husband’s birthday list come between them. All he wants is her present and future, Jamie can keep the past. Only question is will Poppy let him?
