REVIEW - Claimed - Alexa Riley

TITLE - Claimed
AUTHOR - Alexa Riley

Blurb:

From New York Times bestselling author Alexa Riley, a friends-to-lovers romance that will bring you the happily-ever-after you've been waiting for

Jordan Chen is the man behind the screen. As part of the elite security team for Osbourne Corporation, he has an iron grip on protection, all without having to make close connections with people. Until he meets the beautiful Jay, and suddenly his quiet life doesn't seem so perfect anymore. He needs more. He needs her.

A workaholic to her core, Jay Rose doesn't have a lot of men in her life. Smiling in the face of her enemies gets her the results she wants at work, but doesn't exactly project a warm, welcoming vibe. So she's surprised when the enigmatic security expert strikes up a friendship with her—surprised but flattered, and maybe a little bit turned on.

A company as powerful as Osbourne Corporation has powerful enemies, and when Jay becomes a target, Jordan realizes there's nothing he won't do to bring her home safe.

Jennifer's Review:

Claimed! This book does just as it says in the title. It claims your as its own. This is my first Alexa Riley book and I am now wondering what in the heck I was doing waiting so long! Claimed has friendship, romance, action, and drama. So pretty much the perfect recipe for a wonderful romance novel.

When I read this blurb, I thought why not give this author a shot. I am so glad I did. What happens when the shy guy who always hides behind the scenes meets the girl of his dreams? Well that is what we explore in this book. This book is a part of a series, but I did not have a problem reading it without having read any of the other books.

Jay and Jordan are a cute couple. What I love most about them is that they start off as friends. This makes the book feel more realistic to me as that is how my husband and I started off as well. The characters are written very well. Jay is such a sweet character. I love her quirkiness. I loved watching her journey to finding her confidence. Then there is Jordan. The silent ones are always the ones to watch out for. He is the alpha I need in my life.

These two are funny and hot. I love how they have such a unique relationship with each other. I think them starting out as friends really paved the way for them to burn up the sheets. I loved how kinetic they were with each other in the bedroom. It was like I could feel the electricity in the room. That was special for me.

I actually really liked the writing style of this book. The pace of the book was steady. I loved how this book wasn’t all gooey romance. I loved the bit of drama and action included. It was just enough to break up all the romance and add a layer to the book that it needed. It was the perfect tie in for the book.

Overall, this was a wonderful book. I am delightfully happy that I finally gave this author a chance. I feel silly that I have waited this long. While I haven’t read this series before, I plan to go back and read the first two books in this series. I am addicted to these guys! Amazing job!
