It started out as a simple ride along.
Now the only brass pole I want to slide down is his.
I know, good girls don’t think those thoughts, right?

Wrong!

The sculpted jaw, the tight t-shirt rippling with muscles. I’m only human.
Now, I’m the only witness to a crime. One that puts me on the run.
Solving the case is our main focus. Well, almost.
Staying at his place was supposed to be temporary. His love wasn’t expected.

Can a girl have her cake and him too?

Who doesn’t want a hot alpha Fireman to come to your rescue, yeah I didn’t think so. Smokin’ is the first book in The Hot Boys series, it is filled with hot Fireman and love with a side of mystery and danger.

Chloe is a 3rd grade teacher and she is determined to get her kids into the Fire Station for a day in the life of, when Ethan stalls her progress by offering up a personal ride along they can’t stop the wheels from turning. After several suspicious fires are reported as an accident Ethan and Chloe start their own investigation. Coming face to face with her life in danger again Chloe is saved by her hero, earning Ethan a top spot at the Station and the new popular face of the FDNY.

Ethan is a hot sexy Fireman who loves the brotherhood of the fire station and is determined to help lead his team literally through fire. Chloe is as stubborn as they come, she also has a heart of gold and treats her class like they are her own, putting everyone else first even if it puts her in the line of fire.

From the moment these 2 laid eyes on each other it was on, it was inevitable that they were going to be together. Ethan and Chloe are like magnets that are in a constant pull together, their chemistry burns hot and kept me glued to the book.

This was the first novel of Olivia’s that I have read and she has me hook line and sinker, once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down finishing Smokin’ in one day. I loved her writing and both POV’s giving you every emotion that both characters were feeling.

I personally loved this novel and if you are into hot Firemen and a sweet but sassy Teacher than this is the story for you, I am very much looking forward to the 2nd book in the series Scorchin featuring Stone Black from the Fire House Station 128.

Smokin’ is SMOKIN’! Smokin’ is a pretty great fire fighter novel. Add in the elementary school teacher and you just know this one was going to be good. This book has romance and heat, but also has a bit of a mystery. This isn’t just your everyday firefighter novel.  This book is a stand-alone novel, but I feel this will turn into a series with all the other fire fighters.

I liked the plot of this story. An elementary school teacher looking for a field trip for her kids. A fire fighter just trying to survive life. When these two meet its an explosion of attraction. The question is, will they survive the aftermath? I liked the mystery in this story as well. It was a good addition to keep the readers entertained.
I liked Chloe and Ethan. I liked that Chloe had a bit of a feisty side. She genuinely cares about others and that is such an amazing quality for anyone to have. What I didn’t like about her was that she was impulsive and did things that weren’t necessarily safe. That killed me because she is an elementary school teacher and I felt she should have known better. Then you have Ethan. He was a good character. I liked how he opened up to Chloe.
The heat between these two was good. I really liked the attraction between them and how they heated things up. I will say I felt things happened too fast for me personally. I could have handled the fast pace of the relationship, but I felt like the feelings happened a bit fast for me as well.
The writing style of this story was good. The pace of the book was pretty fast, but it was good for me. I liked the mystery in the story. I also liked the dual point of view. It gave me good insight into both characters. I liked getting to meet the minor characters as well. I am interested to see where this series goes.
Overall, I liked this story. It wasn’t a five star for me because there were some things I could not get past, but it is a four star. I would still recommend the book to others. I also look forward to reading the next books in the series. Great story!
