Louise's Review:
When we Fall is book 1 in the Rocky Falls series, focusing on Erin and Mason and navigating the high school world with intense bullying showing the effects it has on all students.
Erin has been bullied her entire school life, each year the taunts get harsher and as the years have gone on, they have begun to be physical; she isn’t the only one but when it comes to surviving her high school years she puts her head down and tries to be invisible. When Mason Knight swaggers into the classroom he gives her no option to stay invisible; while Erin is enjoying her time with Mason a bullseye is drawn bigger on her back leaving her vulnerable. In one moment, everything changes leaving everyone with not just physical scars but mental ones too.
Rose is a new to me author and I did enjoy this story but felt very confronted with the reality that Erin was living with on a daily basis, if you have bullying triggers, I highly recommend that you consider whether this is the book for you.
I look forward to reading more from Rose in the future.

Jennifer's Review:
Whaaaat? That is what this book made me think a lot. When We Fall is an interesting novel, but did frustrate me at times. Now I feel it is my duty to mention the following. There are triggers in this book for some. This book explores bullying, which can be a sensitive topic. If you do not like to read about these situations, then turn around. Now if you are okay, then continue.
The plot of this book intrigued me. I mean I love high school books and this book is that. I didn’t quite expect the bullying aspect, but hey I don’t mind it. Add in a new boy who happens to be incredibly attraction and popular? Well I thought I just had to give this one a shot. I did like the plot, but I feel like the plot was a little bit too complex for my liking.
Erin is just a sweet girl trying to survive high school. I liked how sweet she is. She was an interesting character with some very enjoyable characteristics. I did feel like she was a bit of a pushover, but seeing her past, I couldn’t really fault the author for that. Then you have Mason. He is strong and popular. He is attractive. He also is a kind boy who looks past all the high school bull. I really liked his character.
The heat between these two is what you would expect in a teen novel. Not too hot, but enough to make you think of the butterflies you had as a teen. I really liked the relationship between these two. It was very enjoyable to read.
The writing style of this book is good. The pace of the story is steady. The story is told from one point of view. Honestly, this story was a bit much for me. I felt some of the issues were over done and that there was a bit too much going on. With that said, I still enjoyed the book.
In conclusion, this book had me questioning what I read. While I enjoyed the book overall, I did feel it was a bit much for me personally. There are trigger warnings for this book. Just proceed with caution.
