The only thing more hilarious than the movies is… real life?! Fall in love with the hot new romantic comedy series from USA Today bestselling author, Lila Monroe!

Stylist Gemma Jones is competing for a once-in-a-lifetime promotion. All she has to do is take some fashion-backward guy from geek to GQ-worthy. The only problem? The man in question is her hairy manwhore of a next-door neighbor. AKA Bigfoot.

Zach Morrison has zero interest in being Gemma’s makeover mannequin. Sure, it’s fun getting his smart-mouthed neighbor all riled up, but after cashing out of his tech start-up and going through an ugly break-up, he’s taking a permanent vacation. If he wants to wear sweatpants and sleep on a mattress in the corner of an empty apartment—

OK. Maybe he needs a little push in the right direction. But as Gemma races the clock to win her bet, she finds that Bigfoot’s been hiding a few things under his baggy flannel shirts. Like abs of steel, and a surprisingly big...

Heart. He has a big heart.

Soon, sparks are flying between this unlikely couple, but can Zach embrace a fresh start - however manscaped it might be? And will Gemma beat out her fashionista rival for the top spot - and keep the truth about their bet from Zach?

Find out in the hot and hilarious new romance from “the reigning queen of rom-com”, USA Today bestselling author Lila Monroe.

OUR REVIEW
Romantic comedy at it’s best! I kinda of love the thought behind Lila Monroe’s new series. How to Choose a Guy in Ten Days has the feel of a similarly titled movie with its own plot to bring a refreshing view on it. This book is the first in Lila’s new series, but we actually meet these characters briefly in one of her previous series. This book has everything I love in a book.

The plot of this book is cute. The book does take place over a short period of time, but honestly, I couldn’t care less. Usually the quick time line would not appeal to me, but for this book it worked. What happens when a bet leads you to your annoying neighbor? This book explores the relationship between two neighbors who really don’t care for each other. I think the main theme of this book is to not judge a person based on first impression. Things are different than they first seem.
Gemma is such a strong character. What I love the most about her is her big heart. She seriously is a saint inside. She cares so much about other people. I also love that she has confidence most of the time, but also shows some vulnerability. Then you have Zach. He is an interesting character. At first, he is a little annoying. As the story continues, we get to see a whole other side to him that I fell right in love with.
The heat in this book is amazing. It is not instant, but that is what I liked most about it. You can see someone every day and not feel anything towards them because you are clouded by your own thoughts. All it takes it one moment to change your point of view and that person can turn into the most gorgeous thing you have ever seen. I feel this book really shows this.
I liked the writing style in this book. The book is told from a dual point of view. The pace of the book is fast, but it is to be expected when a majority of the book takes place over ten days. I liked the characters in the book as well. My only complaint is I wish we got to see a little more of Gemma and when she ended up with her job. There was also a part where Gemma was in her apartment and Zach overhead her with a man talking. I would like to know who that was. It was never really addressed I don’t think.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I cannot wait for the next one to come out. I am fully invested in this group of friends and this new world Lila has created. I would obviously recommend this book to others. The characters are dynamic, and the story was cute. I loved the romance in it.
Ratings:
Plot: 5/5
Characters: 5/5
Heat: 5/5
Writing Style: 4/5
Overall: 4.5/5
