REVIEW:
“Second Chance romance, 4 stars”
A
Way Back Into Love is exactly what it sounds like, two people finding
the way back to each other. I enjoyed the story but man did I want to
strangle both of the main characters.
Emily has
been in love with Derek since she was a little girl. Finally during
college she thinks everything is going to come to light, she’ll get the
happily ever after she's always wanted with Derek. But one drunken night
changes everything causing her to run. Will Emily always run away from
fate or will she finally stand her ground and get what she’s always
wanted.
There has only ever been one woman for
Derek and when she walks away without any reason he finds himself
drowning. Then he starts to piece back together with the help of someone
tied to Emily. Which pushes Derek and Emily further apart.
When
Emily comes home everything starts to change. Old hurts come to light,
friendships are rebuilt, and fragile relationships will shatter. I truly
liked Emily and Derek but I wanted to beat them into speeding up.
I
loved some secondary characters like their friends and Emily’s dad
Paxton, but hated Emily’s mother and sister. All in all it was a good
read.
Here are a few quotes that stuck to me;
“We
always think that the sorrow and pain will never end, that we will be
stuck in a bad place forever, but we always do reach a better place.”
“Face your troubles, Derek. Then, they won’t seem as scary anymore . Stay true to your heart.”
