Jennifer's Review:

Great sports romance! I Bet You is a really good sports romance. The characters are dynamic, and the heat is great. This is book two in a series, but it is a stand-alone and can be read without reading book one. I did not read book one and still enjoyed the story. This book has romance, heart break, and a bet that might just ruin everything.

The plot of this book was good. I like the idea of a bet gone wrong. The whole jock/nerd thing also interested me. I feel the plot was written well. This book is really a enemies to lovers story. I liked how the author played on the push and pull of the characters relationship. That was my favorite aspect of the plot.

Penelope is a great character. I really liked how she embraced her nerd and had a bit of spice to her. With that being said, I do feel she went soft at times when she should’ve stayed strong. It didn’t bother me enough to take from the story. I really liked her story arc. Then you have Ryker. Shoot, I need me a Ryker. He is protective and fierce. He is also annoyingly considerate. Like there were times where I was like STOP BEING THE GOOD GUY! But I am glad he stuck to it because it made me love him even more.

The heat in this book is a good one. These two characters start off with notions about one another that weren’t exactly true. Perception is in the eye of the beholder and this story proves that. These two make a great duo. Their constant love/hate relationship added fireworks to the story. The heat is undeniable with these two.

The writing style of the story was good. The pace of the book was steady. The story is told from a dual point of view. The writing was easy to read and understand. I really didn’t have anything negative to say about the actual writing of the book. It was good.

Overall, this is a great story. I really enjoyed jumping into this world the author created. I wish I had me my own Ryker. Heck, I would take Blaze too. I am interested to see where this author goes. She wrote the perfect villain, but I can totally see him being redeemable. Let’s see if that is the case.

Johnaka's Review:

“Playing for keeps, 5 stars”

Penelope knows football and know how footballers operate. With that said there’s no denying she’s attracted to Ryker her colleges Quarterback, but she knows they are no where near the same league as each other. But what happens when he won’t stay away from her. Will she let him in or will she keep him out?

Ryker was interested in Penelope before she wrote an article on him and now he’s even more intrigued. When one of his teammates bets him, he can’t get Penelope he doesn’t fall for the game but there is no denying he’s playing for keeps where she’s concerned. Now if only he can convince the only woman who’s ever really seen him to take a chance on him.

These two made me smile. I adored how quirky Penelope was and how Ryker was all about embracing it. These two really accepted and fell for who the other was when the lights were off, and no one was around. They knew each other bone deep and not surface level. If you love a good quirky romance where the heroine wants to be an author and the hero is manly then this might be the book for you.

I won’t say I Bet You is my favorite of Madden-Mills stories, but it definitely hit the spot for my desire to read her. Go one-click I Bet You.
