Emery
I’ve loved Jordan Grady since I was eight.
Since he became my protector.
Since he became my safe haven each night.
But I was younger.
Off limits...
Until high school when he finally kissed me.
And for a few fleeting moments, everything was right in the
world.
Then I was forced to do the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do...
Disappear from his life without a trace.
Grady
I’m Alabama’s star right tackle—and a real prick.
I live my life by a few solid truths.
Life isn’t fair.
Don’t let anyone get too close.
And those who claim to care about you can up and leave.
But you know what they say about things that disappear….
But Emery Pruitt had never been mine.
Even if she had returned after four years.
Older.
Confident.
And more beautiful than the night she vanished.
But it didn’t erase the fact that she’d left me.
So, why find me now?

Our Reviews:
“Full circle, 5 stars”
Emery grew up in the worst kind of circumstance but through it all she had Jordan. Over the years their relationship grew, and promises were made and then Emery left and not by choice. Now she’s back and she doesn’t know how Jordan will react to seeing her again after so much time. But a promise is a promise. Will Emery finally get everything she’s ever wanted where Jordan is concerned?
Jordan took in Emery when she was a little girl. Over the years he slowly but surely fell in love with her but wouldn’t make a move. Then she left leaving him to be half the person he was. Now Emery’s back and he won’t go out down without a fight where she’s concerned. It’s time for a happily ever after where these two are concerned the only question is will a ghost from the past try and stop them?
Best friend romances are one of my favorite tropes. I love how Jordan was protective of Emery. He didn’t let the past stand in their way or anyone else for that matter. I love how Emery balanced Jordan and made him humble. For some it might seem like this story goes a little fast paced once you get to the part of where they’re in college, but this relationship had been years in the making. If your looking for a good friend’s to lover’s romance look no further.

A man to love to hate? For Emery is the next novel in For
You series by J. Nathan. This book has all the elements that are in the other
books, but is still a unique story. This is the book I have been waiting for
since book 1. I will warn you that this story tackles some tough subjects that could
be a trigger for some.
I loved the plot of this book. I mean its all about Jordan Grady,
the teams A hole. Something in his life had to make him that way right? Let me
tell you I was not expecting what his story was. Everything had been so hush
hush with him that when it was finally revealed? I was taken by complete
surprise. His story will go down as my favorite.
Emery is our title character. She is strong and loyal. I
loved her tenacity. I don’t want to say too much about her and give any parts of
the story away, but I loved her personality. Then you have Jordan Grady. If you
think you know all about him from the other books, you are mistaken. I liked
seeing this other side to him. It reminds me that you cannot judge someone based
on other peoples perceptions.
The heat in the book is there. These two characters have a unique
type of chemistry. I liked that this book wasn’t all about the heat, but was
still able to progress the story in this department as well. I think this
aspect of the book was written well.
I really enjoyed the writing style of this book. The pace of
the story was steady. The story is told from a dual point of view. The book
showcases some of the previous characters and gives us updated on what is going
on with them. I enjoyed how the author was able to introduce new characters as
well.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. So far I have loved every book
in this series. This book is really for those who like to read a book about
someone who has been misunderstood by others. It really shows that sometimes
there is more that meets the eye. I would recommend this book to others.

EXCERPTS
#1
“Have you kissed her yet?”
“Emery,” I groaned.
“Did you use tongue?”
“That’s it.” I tightened my arms around her and rolled onto my back. Her back stayed pressed to my chest while her bare legs flailed above her.
“What are you doing?” she giggled.
“Trying to get you to stop talking.”
She burst into full-blown hysterics which caused me to laugh. We’d done this long enough to know we needed to keep our voices low so my parents couldn’t hear us.
Eventually, our laughter subsided. But I had a good hundred pounds on her, so I knew she couldn’t get loose unless I relented. I did just enough for her to turn, twisting in my arms so she lay on top of me with her face mere inches from mine. This closeness was clearly natural for us. We’d shared a bed for six years.
But gone were the big awed eyes when she looked at me—like I was her very own knight in shining armor. Now her heavy-laden eyes showed want. Her unsteady breaths held need.
“If you don’t want to talk,” she said. “Is there something else you’d rather do?”
My dick sprang to attention, pressing itself between her thighs.
Fuuuuuck.
“Why haven’t you ever tried to kiss me?” she asked.
Unable to look her in the eyes, my head dropped to the side. “Emery.”
“I’m serious, Jordan. Aren’t you the least bit curious?”
“About what?”
“What it’d be like.”
I huffed, knowing I was in a no-win situation. This was my best friend. This was Emery.
“Well, aren’t you?” she persisted.
“I know what it’d be like,” I snapped.
“And what’s that?”
I looked back into her blue eyes, the ones I wished didn’t look so damn pretty gazing back at me. “Amazing.”

Emery stood there, her eyes dancing with amusement. Her skinny jeans and sparkly black tank top made her fit in with the rest of the girls in the crowded bar. But she wasn’t just any girl. “What’d you do?”
My eyes narrowed.
She ticked her head over her shoulder. “To make her ditch you in the middle of the dance floor?”
“I told her I wasn’t taking her home with me.”
Emery stared at me, her brows drawn. “Why not? Isn’t that what you college football players do? Get girls to go home with you?”
I shrugged. “Not sure. You wanna come home with me?”
She laughed and her entire face lit up like it did when we were younger. And that right there. That was the reason the other girl wasn’t coming home with me. She didn’t look at me like Emery did.
The thought hit me hard, nearly leveling me.
I wanted to be looked at the way Emery looked at me—like she saw the real me. I deserved that.
