Revenge is a dish best served cold.
They weren’t kidding about that.
They really weren’t.
Dear Celia,
Your family are a bunch of…
Wait. No. It isn’t your fault.
None of this is your fault.
I’m sorry. I wish you knew how sorry I was.
Dear Andrea,
Your family and you are a bunch of…
Nope.
Still not it.
It’s not you I hate.
Dear Tanner,
You’re a monster.
A cold, broken monster.
I think they have a name for you, oh right, a sociopath.
A gorgeous, strong, incredible sociopath.
How could you do this to me?
So easily?
So effortlessly?
How?
Please, for the love of god, tell me how?
I trusted you. But you knew that, didn’t you?
It’s exactly what you wanted.
Where will it end?
Will it end?
I don’t want to have to hate you, can’t you see that?
I don’t want to have to seek my own revenge…
But you’ve left me no choice.
Dear Ethan,
Screw you.
You were my best friend.
How could you?
I have nothing else to say to you.
Nothing.
Dear Fate,
Well done. You won.
You won.

Johnaka's Review
“rubs face in frustration, 3”
Okay, so if you read my review for This for That you know I wasn’t sold on this whole story line. But I read the first book so I had to read the second to find out what happens. Because cliffhangers are stupid. Let me just say again that I typically like Jewel and her stories, but dear baby jesus I have never wanted to punch characters in the face so much!
Our heroine is self-centered, her best friend needs to grow up, the hero is also blinded by his hurt and me, me, me, personality, his best friend is a shady pile a dog poo, oh and let’s not forget the heroine’s guy best friend who has been plotting behind her back.
So here we are in book two trying to figure out what happened to Celia (aside from dying). It’s guys vs. girls basically until heroine and best friend call the guys out. Then they magically join forces *eye roll*. So, they go on this adventure for the lack of a better word, truths are told, feelings are hurt, and no real justice is done. We figure out what happened to Celia and her reasons why she was acting strange before her death (yay!) but then SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENS LEAVING US WITH ANOTHER FREAKING CLIFFHANGER!!
I loathe cliffhangers. Sometimes I can do them, because they are needed. But this was completely unneeded. I’m to the point where I don’t even know why I’m rating You for Her a 3. The only reason I would recommend this series is if you want to feel ragey go for it.

“Romantic suspense, 3 stars”
Alrightly…. So, I just saw Bella Jewel and jumped on it. I typically enjoy her stories. But This for That had me scratching my head. So, in This for That the heroine starts off as a teenager who is out joyriding with her three best friends. I’m sold at this point even though I know something bad is about to happen. Then the bad happens in the form of a car accident that happens to kill someone else, one of her friends is severely injured, another is hurt but not bad, she’s hurt, and one walks away. At this point I’m still into the story.
Then she gets sent to prison for killing the one girl, and this is where Jewel lost me. First the heroines mother sounds like a nut job and her father not better. I’m sorry but as a parent I cannot imagine not fighting for my kid. So then we go back and forth with her past (in prison) and present (right after release.)
I won’t get too far into it but heroine wants justice for herself and the truth about the girl who died to come out. She has not made any sort of peace with what happened and the roll she played. She’s all me,me,me and frankly it was exhausting. Then you have the other characters…*sigh*
The best friend is a piece of work. The Hero…yeah saw what he does coming a mile away. I just can’t.
Long story short I found This for That wildly predictable and not really needed. I can see how it would have been a killer story off the original plot, I just don’t care for where Jewel took it after that.
