REVIEW - The Italian - Beverly Preston

TITLE - The Italian
AUTHOR - Beverly Preston

Blurb:

No ties.
No expectations.
No risks.

Antonio Giovanni, a fifth-generation winemaker in the rolling hills of Tuscany, is the epitome of temptation. Tall, dark, and handsome with an accent sexy enough to leave a trail of women’s panties in his wake. The man wears charisma like a fine silk suit…flawless and molded to perfection in all the right places, leaving just enough mystery to make you wonder what lies beneath the faultless exterior.

Hope Tidwell, a world-renowned sommelier, is a strong independent woman who fights to have control over every aspect of her life. She makes her own money, her own decisions, her own happiness, and her own mistakes. Her existence doesn’t need to be validated by a man; she refuses to ask for anything except an orgasm, and even those she can manage on her own.

Relationships for most people are as natural as breathing. However, Hope and Antonio are two players who master the art of seduction and the fear of emotional intimacy. When tragedy strikes close to her heart, Hope is fated to do the one thing that terrifies her most.

Destiny reveals the biggest gifts often require the greatest sacrifices.

Review:

The Italian by Beverly Preston
“A story filled with sorrow with a happy ending, 4 stars”

Where do I even start with this review? In the Italian you will see a “bad boy” tamed, you experience a unbreakable bond, know a sisters love, all with a side of tears and more.
Hope had a cap childhood to put it bluntly. Her mother was basically absent leaving her to care for her younger sister. As an adult she has a thriving career and a lover in most cities she visits. But there is one man who she has a hard time leaving. He makes her want more. Is more a possibility? Then her sister asks her for a massive favor. Will the man want her in the end? And is the favor really as cut and dry as she first thought?
Antonio has been in love with Hope for years, but he knows she has no desire to settle down? Or does she? Antonio has dumped every woman hes been with if it means he gets a day with Hope. He is waiting for a sign to finally make his move. But when it comes time to make the move will he be able to or is Hope’s baggage too much?
Together Antonio and Hope work towards a new normal. Will they come out on top or will everything come crashing down? You’ll have to read to find out.
Warning: this book contains surrogacy and a ton of panty melting Italian sweet talk.

Here are a few quotes I personally liked:

“Sometimes, love begins from some of our most difficult of tragedies. I think it’s God’s way of giving us blessings we won’t ever take for granted.”

“Hope wasn’t alone. In that moment, she’d never known such a deep longing, a longing that sank all the way to her bones.”
