TITLE - Promised Soul AUTHOR - Sandra J. Jackson
Synopsis:
Just as Krista’s summer plans are finalized, she is suddenly plagued by strange dreams and intense feelings of déjà vu. Feeling as though she’s losing her mind, she visits a psychic medium, only to feel more confused. When Krista arrives in England, her dreams persist, and she finds herself at the doorstep of another psychic; she needs clarity. Finally, the words she was afraid to say out loud, are spoken. Now Krista has to figure out what it all means. Promised Soul is the story of the past, the present, and the future of two souls that have been bound together by eternal and transcending love.
My Review:
Have you ever just looked at someone you just met and felt like you knew them?
This story is kind of like that. Only Krista and Aaron’s story goes a little deeper then that.
They really did know each other in a previous life and they were lovers. Until they were ripped apart.
Krista has never felt complete. She's always felt like a piece of herself was missing. When she decides to follow her lifelong dream of going to England, Krista starts having dreams. Only problem is they don't feel like typical dreams, they feel more like memories. Is that even possible?
Aaron used to dream of a faceless woman as a child. He knew he loved her, by the memories he had of her. By the time he started dating he only dated women who were like the girl from his dreams. After a while he gave up on finding this woman. Its funny though when you stop looking for love is when you actually find it.
When Aaron and Krista meet it's like they are tossed into the past. They have memories from their time together before now. Does that make them crazy? Is their love actually real or all in the past?
Promised Souls is a good book that makes you wonder if all this is possible. The time hop between past and present was clear.
You could feel the romance between Thomas and Mary live on through Aaron and Krista.
I'm usually not a fan of clean romances, I'm a huge fan of heat which this book lacks. But it was really sweet.
I give Ms. Jackson major props for doing well on her first publication. The writing style was clean and on point unlike so many first authors. Major kudos.
Here are a few quotes that stuck out to me;
“My love for you will transcend death”
“Love – an emotion so strong it can make us feel invincible. It can drive every thought, make us do things we normally wouldn’t do, and cloud our judgment. It can drive us crazy.”
“We sat in silence, listening to each other breathe, neither one of us wanting to let go.”
