My Review:
Summer's Destiny is a wonderfully written vampire novella. It is classified as an erotica, so if you do not like these types of books, then this isn't a book for you. With that being said, if you like a badass man who finds a woman who changes his life, then this is the book for you. This is a nice, quick read that leaves you satisfied.
Ariel Marie is an author to watch. I am impressed with the way she made a novella seem like a full length book. I usually don't read novellas because authors often have a hard time telling a complete story using limited words. These novellas usually leave me unsatisfied and needing more from the story. Ariel left me wanting more, but in a good way. I would love to read more from her in the future.
These main characters are developed throughout the story, which surprised me. Usually with novellas, the characters are developed fast and it seems forced. Not with this novella. When Ariel started the story, the made it clear that these two characters had a part to play and each would need a catalyst to start them on their path. I loved reading about these two characters.
I usually don't read vampire novels anymore because I feel they all seem the same anymore. I really liked how Ariel approached the subject. There was no doubt that this book has vampires, but it doesn't consume the book. There is more going on in the story. I feel like the story's plot had more content to it and that you can take the vampire out of the story and replace it with another race and still have a great story. For me, this is a selling point.
Heat! Lots of heat in this book. This is where the erotica comes in. There are a couple of scenes when the main characters are engaged in relations. Each one of these scenes heated my cheeks. Ariel did an amazing job of creating two satisfying lovers for readers to follow.
Overall, this was a spectacular novella. This is a great short read that takes you on a journey while saving you some time. I would love to read more books from this author. With that being said, I would recommend this book to friends and family.
