REVIEW - Ruckus - L.J. Shen

TITLE - Ruckus (Sinners of Saint #2)
AUTHOR - L.J. Shen

Releases - June 1st

BLURB:

Rosie

They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They're right.
No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.
He is my forbidden, shiny apple. The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister's ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me;
I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.
Eleven years later, he waltzes into my life, demanding a second chance.
Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman.
But my clock is ticking. See, I’m not like the rest. I have an illness.
Sometimes I conquer it.
Sometimes it conquers me.
My white knight has finally arrived.
Hopefully, he isn’t too late.

REVIEW:

“The Hot Hole with a second chance, 5 stars”

Holy Mother of Mary…This story is the definition of ruckus. I have read the first two stories in the series so I had some pretty high expectations going into Ruckus. Yeah, take what you think is going to happen and throw it out the window. I went through all the emotions; my heart was in my stomach one second and the next I quite possibly had cartoon hearts coming out of my eyes. It was real, it was honest, and gritty. Dean and Rosie had an uphill battle that I wasn’t sure they could make it up. There was no putting it down for me, until it was over. And now I want the next in the series.

Dean Cole… if you were to look up the definition of book boyfriend I’m 99% sure his name would be there. He was the typical ladies’ man to start with, but there’s a reason why. And when he decides to finally claim what’s his…its explosive. Before Ruckus I thought of him as the pretty boy loose cannon, he had looks, money, liked his weed, and possibly had a drinking problem, but here we find out why he is the way he is.

Rose LeBlanc has never had it easy. If she’s been one thing it’s been babied, which she hates. Causing her to move across country to get away from her parents who never really accepted her. They just see someone who’s sick and think of her as an invalid. When Rose can do it all, as long as she’s not sick. For those of you who haven’t read Vicious (Rose’s sisters book) Rose has cystic fibrosis, a silent but deadly disease. Rosie wrote off her happy ending a long time ago, when her sister dated the guy she knew held her future. But what happens if your sister is more than okay with it and he wants you back?

Rosie is strong, Dean is close to perfect, together they are unstoppable. When together everything is perfect. But one can’t live in a bubble forever, truths will come out, sickness will take hold, can Dean and Rosie weather the storm together or will they go down like a sinking ship?

I without a doubt loved Ruckus. I will warn you before you dive in that when you finally come up for air, you’ll have a book hangover. I honestly can’t tell you the last time I marked a book up because I loved so many parts.

Here are just a couple pieces from the story that I loved;

“As you did my sister.” Baby LeBlanc gave a curt nod. “Are you planning on screwing your way through our family tree? Should I print out a copy of our ancestry.com profile?”

“He was my sun, the moon, and everything worth seeing in the constellation.”
“I was going to put a ring on her finger, and it was probably going to weigh as much as she did, if not more.”
