Review - Hot Summer Lust - Juliette Jones

BLURB:

Sadie Faraday is finally free. It’s summer and she just graduated from the strictest private high school in Tennessee. Ditching the confining uniform and the iron-clad rules, she wanders alone to swim in the secluded pond on the far side of her family’s farm. There, she revels – maybe a little too much – in her freedom and the warmth of the sun on her skin. Until she notices she’s not as alone as she thinks …

Elias Hayes just bought the thousand-acre property next door, as a getaway from the craziness of his high profile life as a country music superstar. Hot, hard-bodied and sun-bronzed, Elias stumbles across a sight which ignites a wild obsession and an all-consuming lust that will make this summer the hottest on record …

MY REVIEW:

Well, this was a surprisingly great read. I went in to this not really sure what to expect, I hadn't read any reviews and didn't know all too much about it. Just that it was novella length, and very hot.
Sadie is 18, gorgeous, totally innocent from most things that 18 years olds have been up to, due to being at a strict Catholic school, but she is also very driven. She knows exactly what she wants, and is determined to get it.
Sadie's big dream is to go to Nashville, to make her dreams come true, she can sing amazingly well, and yes she knows she is good, but she is also going to do whatever it takes to get there. Like offering to clean for neighbours over the summer.
Another thing that seems to be happening to Sadie, is this kind of awakening. She has been sheltered from boys, dates, and anything else most teen girls get to experience at high school. So now she is free, she is suddenly aware of herself and what she has missed out on. Now, I must admit this part I wasn't entirely enthusiastic about. I don't read a lot of YA, and an 18 year old in a crazy fit of loving herself and her body, was kind of annoying. It did make me a bit weary over whether I was going to enjoy the book, but luckily I continued.
During one hot afternoon, after delivering fliers to neighbours for work. Sadie strips off and goes for a swim in the pond on her ground. She only has one close neighbouring house, and nobody lives there, or so she thinks. It's during this time, Sadie realises she is being watched. It would seem somebody has moved in to the sprawling empty house.
This is where we get to meet Elias, famous musician, and absolutely gorgeous. He has bought the house and land for some privacy from his crazy life. He was watching Sadie, and has become completely enthralled by the sweet, innocent beauty next door.
So begins a very quick paced, and incredibly intense, and absolutely boiling hot romance.
It was actually a really great story. Although it was moving very fast, which usually with romance stories, I don't like it to all happen too quick, but it just felt different. The atmosphere and heat made for such an intense relationship between Sadie and Elias, and I actually believed in it.
As it was getting closer to the end, I had actually forgotten that it was a novella, so was a bit shocked when it came to a stand still. And I had no clue that it was the first part, and a second novella will follow. So it finished at quite a crucial point, but it's good to know there will be more to Sadie and Elias's story. I do feel like I want to know what will happen in their future.
If you love ultra quick reads, the sort that don't pause for breath, and is literally smouldering hot, with plenty of intense and graphic naughtiness. Then I highly recommend this novella. It was a short, sweet, and incredibly sexy!
4 stars.
