Release Blitz & Review - Save The Date - Carrie Aarons

Title: Save the Date
Author: Carrie Aarons
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: June 24, 2018

Blurb

You know that pact you make with your childhood best
friend of the opposite sex? The one where, if you’re both still single, lonely
and hopeless at thirty, you’ll marry each other?

This is the story about what happens when you hit the big three-oh and have to
make good on that pinky promise.

Personally, I think love, romance and all of that nonsense is a crock of, well,
you know. And Reese Collins, the boy who used to put worms in my hair at
backyard barbecues, knows that better than anyone.

But when he moves to the same city I’ve happily, and singly, inhabited for
years, memories of oaths past resurface. Reese is like a dog with a bone; a
really hot dog and that bone just happens to be me.

He won’t stop hounding me, and the crazy thing is, my frigid, traitorous heart
is starting to cave. For my best friend.

It seems so far off, when you’re a kid playing Monopoly in your treehouse. But
when that clock strikes midnight on your thirtieth birthday, and you’re
standing alone in front of a grocery store-bought cupcake, a childhood deal to
walk down the aisle doesn’t seem so silly anymore.

OUR REVIEW:

“Marriage pacts, 5 stars”

To say I loved the whole concept of Save the Date would be an understatement. Who better to fall into love with than your best friend? Aarons made a story based on a marriage pact and rocked it! I laughed at these two and how the roles were slightly reversed. It was a beautiful story that had me completely engaged and had me rooting for Reese and Erin until the very end.

Erin is kind of the ice queen when it comes to love. She loves certain people, like her mom, sister, and her best friend Reese. But she doesn’t believe in happily ever after’s and wedding vows. She was never one to gush over love but any hope she had died along with her parent’s marriage. Then Reese comes calling on a pact they made as kids. Will she give in to his demands and give him a chance? Or will she keep Reese the only way she knows how?

Reese has been in love with Erin since he met her. Over the years his feelings for his best friend have only grown. He’s tried dating others and going through the motions but none of them ever lived up to Erin. When they were kids he made her pinky promise that if they weren’t married by thirty they would marry each other. Well, the 30th birthday for both is approaching and its time for him to make his move. Will Reese finally get his girl?

I couldn’t help but laugh at these two. I wanted them together from the beginning and kept my fingers crossed until the bloody end. They had trials and tribulations but at the same time the relationship came easy to them. They had been friends forever and so they knew each other that way but it was more or less them learning about each other as lovers, and it was beautiful. I can’t help but encourage you to dive into Save the Date. You won’t regret it.
