REVIEW - Heat - C.A. Harms

TITLE - Heat
AUTHOR - C.A. Harms

BLURB:

Beckett Montgomery is a well-known detective in the New York area.

He takes his job seriously and has little time for anything else.
During an investigation in to a series of break in’s of an apartment building on 32nd St., he finds himself getting a little too involved. What had always in the past been his job, now felt as if it was so much more.

He can’t seem to let go of the image of the beautiful, scared blonde with a look of horror on her face. He found that protecting her became all he could think of. Whatever it took, not matter the cost, he would provide her the security she needed.
He assured himself he would remain professional, he would dedicate himself fully to the task at hand and never would he mix business with pleasure.

Yet with each passing second Beckett spent in the presence of Shanelle Kramer he found that the need for her only grew. Her beauty alone made him weak in the knees and that was only the beginning.

He had never desired a woman more.
Never felt the need to conquer, or claim, but she was different.
Maybe just one taste would end his addiction for Shanelle?

But one taste was just a tease….
And he needed more, so much more.
Because the Heat between them was just too hot to resist.

REVIEW:

“Love & suspense, 5 stars”

Have you ever met someone and just known immediately that they were going to change your life, whether it be good or be it bad? That’s what happened to Beckett. He saw a girl in a bar but never got the chance to talk to her that night. But fate had other ideas and he ended up being the lead detective on her case. Will he be able to hold off until after he closes her case? Then again does he even stand a chance with a girl like Elle?

Elle is a trauma nurse and would rather hang out at home in sweats, then go out to a bar or club. But a promise is a promise and one night she joins her best friend out. She has eyes for a guy but lacks the confidence to make the first move. But that doesn’t matter when he's assigned to her case.

The handsome detective makes her feel safe, but does he make her feel more?

Beckett and Elle are in a crazy situation where tension is high. Between the unknown and the sexual tension sh!ts about to hit the fan. Beckett and Elle make for a killer couple who bring out the best in one another.

The secondary characters in Heat are fantastic. Between the spot on sibling banter, protective best friend, and the flirtatious gay guy you can’t go wrong. You’ll find yourself laughing to tears at least once.

Heat went by in what felt like the blink of an eye it was so good. I never thought about putting it down until it was over.

Here are a few lines from Heat that I enjoyed;

“This man was that rare kind of guy you wanted to hate, but couldn’t help but fall for. He was cocky, arrogant, and demanding, but secretly I found all those aspects of him incredibly sexy.”

“I was going to destroy this sweet girl and make her my temptress.”

“You are the best part of my days, Elle, and the most comforting part of my nights.”
