Hockey players are off limits...especially if they're on your brothers' team.

The last time Jordan did that, it ended in disaster. It was easy to promise her brothers she'd never date another one of their teammates again.
Until she meets Jake.
The spark she feels when she spends time with him makes her promise harder and harder to keep.
Surely her brothers would understand breaking this promise if it means following her heart.
Wouldn't they?

Never sleep with a teammate's sister.

This is the universal rule of athletes everywhere.
Until he meets Jordan.
As soon as Jake sets eyes on her, he wants her.
The goalie's job is to see missed shots and failed opportunities on the ice.
This is one shot he's not going to miss, no matter what obstacles get in his way.

POWER PLAY is a flirty, swoon worthy sexy rom-com and the first book in the BTU Alumni series. It can be read as a stand alone. If you like hockey boys, sarcastic friends, matchmaking K9’s, too-cute-to-handle kindergarteners, fierce heroines and swoony hot as puck Alpha heroes, then you want to get to know these cast of characters. One puck head and a HEA guaranteed.

Jenns review

Holy exhilarating novel! Power Play exceeding any expectations that I had. This book is more than just a sports romance. This book has romance and heat, but it also has action and a bit of mystery. This book had me on the edge of my seat!

I really liked the plot if this book. Hockey player attracted to his teammates sister? That is intriguing enough. Add in her secret past and how hush hush her brothers kept her identity? Well that just adds to the mystery.

Jordan is an interesting character. I liked how she was strong and fiesty, but how she was also vulnerable. She is such a realistic character. The. You have Jake. He is such a kind soul, but also has an alpha side yo him. I loved watching how attentive and observant he is.

The attraction between these two is instant. Their denial of it only heightened it. Add in the forbidden fruit aspect of the story and the fact that they actually became friends, well this story was bound to be explosive.

The writing style of the story was great. I liked the dual point of view. I loved how the author wrote the characters and subject at hand. I really enjoyed the pace of the story. It kept my heart pounding.

In conclusion, I loved this story. This was a very well written book. If you like romance with a side of action, this is the book for you.

Louise review
Power Play is Ciz’s debut sports/Rom-com novel that heated up from start to finish; Power Play will have you laughing, cheering and on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.

Jordan is a strong woman with an abundance of sass lined with a heart of gold; being treated poorly in the past she makes a promise to her 2 older brothers to not date any of their team mates. When she meets her new neighbour Jake, he catches her eye and her heart; she is left wondering how her protective older brothers are going to react especially because, yep he is a teammate.

When the past comes back, she has to open up old wounds and bare all to the most important people in her life.

I personally loved this story; I am usually not a fan of 3rd person writing but the way Ciz wrote this story I was able to follow and enjoy it all. This was a fantastic break out story and I am very excited to read more from Ciz in the future.

Erin's Review:
This is the first in a new series by Alley Ciz.  I’ve never read anything by this author before, but this was a good book!  It’s a big brother’s best friend hockey romance.

The plot follows Jordan and Jake on an unexpected college romance.  It’s a redemption romance for Jordan as well, as she had a previous horrible experience with an ex-boyfriend.  Add in that Jake is on the same hockey team as Jordan’s older brothers, and there’s a whole new level of big brother protectiveness!

Both Jake and Jordan were great characters.  It was fun to read about college students, full of life and possibilities and choices.  Jake is a hockey goalie and is getting tired of the puck bunny life. He’s a fun guy, into Marvel and all sorts of nerdy things.  Jordan is moving back home to go to the same college as her brothers. But she’s got a history with the team, and isn’t sure how the move will play out.  She’s a geeky good looking woman, a college swimmer, and not sure how life will go...

These two meshed so well.  They just got along as friends which led to them being great in their relationship.  They treated each other with respect and trust, which was much needed for Jordan. I really liked how these two just flowed and meshed so very nicely that it was just a refreshing change from alpha males or so many other tropes.  It was sweet and kind and sexy and I liked it!

The book flowed nicely.  I was able to follow the book easily and keep the characters straight.  The reader got the foreshadowing to guess some plot points before the characters could see the troubles.

The whole book was good...not great, not bad, not outstanding, not boring.  I can’t pinpoint anything to really suggest to do better or that I didn’t enjoy.  It just wasn’t a book that stuck out as amazing to me, nor was it one I didn’t want to finish.  If I find a book in the series on sale, I may pick it up, but I’m not going to go out of my way to pay for the whole series.
